web design or extra cash from accounts on etsy or whatever

creatives who can make a profit from their work by selling it online

airplanes staffed by a coven who only ever take flights which take off and land in the dark, the pilot switching off to his co-pilot just before daybreak

every undesirable night shift in diners and gas stations and transport

night time road work crews

they bulk buy coconut water because its similar enough to blood plasma that they can cut back on real blood

transferring their raw wealth into real estate investments and inheriting the properties from themselves every few decades

tech savvy vamps who make a career out of helping others forge identities and stay off the grid without encumbering their real world interactions

using the internet to get in touch with others when you first turn

international covens keeping in touch via social media outlets

intra-covens activities organized via facebook events  

treaties sorted over skype calls

Lily sending Harry a howler in his first year that everyone thinks will be telling him off for getting caught out duelling Draco but it’s actually like ‘MUM IS PROUD OF YOU YOU PRINCIPLED KID’ with James in the background like ‘LILY EVANS WHAT ARE U DOING DONT ENCOURAGE HIM’ and Lily telling Harry how to charm his way out of detentions and after hearing about his attempts at duelling Draco in CoS she sends him a huge letter w detailed instructions of loads of defensive charms and basically continues like this throughout his school career bc standing up for what’s right is more important than the rules

meanwhile James is fretting himself blind about how Harry is doing all this dumb shit and Lily’s like ‘you were literally so much worse’ and James is like ‘THAT WAS DIFFERENT’ and when Remus becomes a teacher James writes to him like 3 times a day to check on Harry and Lily is all ‘James please find ur chill’ and Remus finds the whole thing hilarious and tells Sirius who is immediately at the Evans Potter household to rip the shit out of James with delighted help from Lily

referring to caitlyn jenner as anything but caitlyn jenner is transphobic. that is her name. use it. respect it.

questioning her attractiveness or saying “she’s prettier than me” even as an intended compliment as a cis girl is transphobic - it is not a compliment and it infers she is “less” of a woman or that you are “more” of one.

using pronouns other than she/her is transphobic. those are her pronouns. use them. respect them. it is never appropriate to put quotation marks around either a trans person’s chosen name or the pronoun that reflects that person’s gender identity.

regardless of your stance on the kardashians, this is not “attention seeking. nor is it money grabbing. caitlyn has been in hiding her whole life at a personal sacrifice to herself for the sake of her family. she is finally being who she is, and this happening in the eye of the media is a good thing. 1 in 12 trans women are murdered and 1 in 8 if they’re of color and you don’t see trans news as worthy of visibility? if anything it is MORE than worthy.

most importantly, whilst this attention is amazing and incredibly progressive, do not forget pre-transition or “non passing” trans women - they are women too. they are beautiful too.

WELCOME TO JUNE, ‘SIT THE FUCK DOWN AND WRITE MONTH’

Wait what?

JUNE IS SIT DOWN AND WRITE MONTH. Your goal is to write something  every day for ten minutes a day. FYWH will be posting daily writing checks for you to reblog and crow about your progress or miserable failure. 

Why haven’t I heard about it before?

Because after a month of being frustrated with my writing process, I just decided to do it, right now.

What the hell should I write?

Anything! Current works in progress, blog posts, new projects. July is another Camp NaNoWriMo that you can do prep work for. The goal is just to write toward the hopes of forming a habit.

Can I do something else?

Hell yeah. Draw a comic, piece some code together, work on a music piece–anything artistic you’ve been putting off, hunker down and get it done.

But I don’t wanna.

Then you will be missing all the fun of accomplishment!

How do I help track my progress?

I use a program called WriteOMeter on my phone. Write Or Die is also used a lot!

When does it start?

NOW. Or tomorrow if it’s not June for you yet. Posts will be reblogged twice for those of us living in the ~mystical future~ and for the lagging Americas. (Get with the right timezone already, gosh)
