Hello everyone! I’m very excited to welcome you all to my blog. My writings will be of multi-fandoms and mainly consist of fluff and angst. I’m open to taking request, just not yet. <3
I do not condone bullying of any sort. You will be blocked if you do. This is a safe place for everyone.
Synopsis: You have a sentimental moment with the pirate Red-Haired Shanks.
Author's notes: Hello Everyone! I'm so sorry for the long wait. Here's the requested Shanks fic inspired by the song “I Only Have Eyes for You” by The Flamingos! :3 I also got inspired by a line from the film Pride and Prejudice. Please enjoy! Happy reading!
Working at Partys bar for 5 years meant you came across a lot of pirates. Some were decent, others weren’t. In all honesty, you never came across such a pirate crew as the Red Hair Pirates. Being generous, fun, and loving pirates made them your all-time favorite customers, besides Luffy. When they came to Partys, you knew you were in for a delight. Like this evening, the sun’s in a beautiful golden glow, as you and Makino clean and set up the bar for the night.
You softly hum to the music played on the turntable as you clean the bar countertop before a certain red-haired pirate catches your eye.
Your eyes gleam, “Shanks, hi!”
The Red Hair Captain Shanks is a charming man you have become fond of. He’s always been so polite and respectful toward you and Makino that he even brings you trinkets from his voyages.
Shanks smiles at you, “Hello, darling. How's the most beautiful girl in the world?"
You laugh at the greeting you’ve become accustomed to. “I’m good. How are you?”
“Doing well, thanks.”
You hear Makino chuckle with a teasing smile as she makes eye contact with you, a knowing look on her face. You give her a brief, pointed stare as heat rises to your cheeks, looking back at Shanks.
You clear your throat, “So…what can I get you?”
“Can I please have two pitchers of beer? It’s for the crew,” he says.
“Of course! Two pitchers of beer coming right up,” you say.
As you fill up the pitchers, Shanks leans on the bar counter. “I have a present for you,” he says.
You look up at him with a raised eyebrow.
“Really? What is it? Let me guess….it’s some sort of one-of-a-kind seashell?” You ask, eyes lit up with curiosity.
Shanks smiles at your enthusiasm as he fishes out a small brown leathery pouch. He puts out his hand for you to grab it. “Well, I wish it were, but not quite,” he says.
You set the filled pitchers on the bar with a big smile, grab the pouch, looking between the pouch and Shanks.
Opening it up, you gasp. “Shanks…. It’s beautiful,” taking out the gold-chained necklace adorned with a stunning red garnet jewel.
He smirks, “The most beautiful for someone with unmatched beauty.”
“I don’t even know what to say,” you replied, truly appalled. If you were honest, you didn’t believe that you deserved such a gift.
Shanks shakes his head, “You don’t have to say anything, darling. The gleaming look in your eyes makes me a happy man,” he replies with a hand on his heart.
You snicker, “Thank you, Shanks.”
Shanks curtly nods.
“Can you please help me put it on?” You ask, moving around to the front of the bar, standing next to him.
Handing him the necklace, you turn around and move your hair aside. The feeling of his fingers brushing against your skin sent a shiver down your spine.
“There,” he says, clasping the necklace.
You turn to face him and look down at the necklace, admiring it. “Thank you so much. I love it.”
Shanks is caught in a daze as he fixates on the shiny jewel that adores you. You look so radiant, just like the first day he met you. He would be a fool not to say he was in love with you. In truth, the woman standing in front of him bewitched him, heart, body, and soul. Realizing he’s been staring for too long, Shanks clears his throat and adjusts his posture. You look at him with raised brows, waiting for him to say something.
He laughs, “The necklace is also a thank you for fixing the patch in my hat. Truly, it means a lot.”
“I only did what any kind person would,” you say, tilting down his hat, giggling. You don’t catch the soft fondness in his eyes as he acknowledges your words.
“Hmm….Not everyone has a kindhearted spirit like you, Y/N,” he states, adjusting his hat to look at you.
You shyly smile, feeling your cheeks become warmer at the redhead pirate’s compliment. Oh, how you hoped he doesn’t notice.
“Thanks.” You pause, reaching for a folded piece of paper from your apron, “Oh, before I forget, Luffy wanted me to give you this.”
Shanks takes the paper. “Thank you.”
You laugh, “No, biggie. Luffy would’ve been upset if I forgot to give it to you.”
Shanks opens the paper and smiles. It’s a drawing of him and Luffy with the Red Hair Pirates. He flips the drawing around and shows it to you.
Your eyes gleam, “Aww, how sweet! He really wants to be part of your crew and become a pirate.”
Shanks smiles, nodding, “The boy is very ambitious, and a big dreamer, might I add.”
You give him a knowing look, “Sounds like someone I know.”
Shanks laughs heartily before listening to the song that starts playing on the turntable.
“I love this song,” Shanks takes a step back to bow and extend a hand towards you, “May I have this dance, Ms. L/N?”
You look around the bar for Makino, but she is nowhere to be found. You’ve guessed she left quietly to give you and Shanks some privacy. The thought makes you quietly giggle to yourself, turning back to Shanks.
You take his hand, “Yes, you may.”
Shanks gently put his hand on your waist, pulling you closer.
The two of you begin to sway as Shanks hums to the melody of the song before you accidentally step on his toe.
“Sorry,” you say, embarrassed.
Shanks shakes his head as he softly chuckles. “There’s nothing to be sorry for, darling. Just keep your eyes on me, okay?”
“Okay.”
Shanks leads the two of you. “See, you’re a good dancer, N/N. Just need a little warming up. Trust me, you’ve got rhythm.”
You teasingly roll your eyes, “You’re just saying that to be kind.”
He shrugs, “Maybe.”
You laugh. Hearing the joyful sound makes Shanks smile.
“I’m joking, I only tell the truth, especially with you. Always,” he says, staring into your eyes with a softening gaze.
You’re almost caught off guard at his confession. Shanks’ voice brings you out of your thoughts.
“Mind if I give you a twirl?” he asks.
“Yes,” you fondly whisper.
Shanks gently twirls you, causing laughter to erupt in your throat. The sound is a beautiful melody in Shanks’ ears as he pulls you in closer, feeling each other’s breath.
Pulling you back, your bodies are closer than before, making it feel as if a thousand butterflies were in your stomach. The two of you stare into each other’s eyes; you can’t help but get lost in them. A gentle touch on your face brings you back to reality. There’s a tender look on Shanks’ face.
Shanks’ hand gently lifts up your chin to meet his eyes.
“There she is. The most beautiful girl in the whole world,” he states like it’s a well-known fact.
Shanks leans in, giving your cheek a soft kiss. There’s a smile on both of your faces before you both lean in to give a gentle kiss.

Time Skip: 1 Year later
This year has been the best time of your life. Every moment you shared with Shanks felt surreal, and you didn’t want any of it to end.
Your eyes are closed as you stand on the beach, listening to the waves, breathing in the ocean’s bracing scent. Opening your eyes, you look beyond the golden horizon, fiddling with the garnet jewel that lies on your chest. The beach was your safe place when things got too hectic and loud, like today.
You feel someone’s eyes on you.
“Shanks?” You turn your head to see the red-haired pirate looking at you tenderly.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t want to interrupt.”
You giggle, “It’s okay. Wanna join me?”
Shanks nods and walks towards you. Standing beside you, he briefly looks at you before looking at the golden sunset.
“So, this is where you like to come.”
“Mhmm.”
In awe, he says, “It’s beautiful…like you.”
He turns to look at you as your eyes meet his. There’s a sad smile on both of your faces. There are unspoken words that neither of you wants to say. Knowing that it would be too hard to say goodbye, it ached both of your hearts to realize it was Shanks’ last day in Foosha Village.
With an understanding look in both of your eyes, you tear your eyes away to see Shanks’ missing left arm.
“Are you doing better?” you ask in a concerned tone.
“Yes, don’t worry, darling.”
You furrow your brows. “I’m allowed to worry.”
There are no words to describe the admiration Shanks had for you. Your strong, caring, and kind personality is what always drew him in. He loved how you always stuck up for people and cared for a pirate like him. He didn’t know if he deserved such love. He gets pulled out of his thoughts as he feels a soft hand on his face.
A tender look is in your eyes as you softly smile at him.
Shanks leans into your touch, “You’re right, darling. Just know I tell only the truth, especially-“
You raise your eyebrow. “To me?” you say teasingly before adding, “Always.” Bumping his shoulder with a grin on your face.
“Always,” he echoes in the same tone with a huge smile on his face. There’s a pause before he asks, “Do you remember the first time we danced?”
You smile, “Yes, I do,” remembering the fond memory.
Shanks backs away from your hand’s embrace to bow his head and extend his hand.
“May I have this dance, Ms. L/N?”
You giggle as Shanks tilts his head with a playful smile.
You take his hand. “Yes, you may.”
Resting your hand on his left shoulder, the two of you sway. Hearing Shanks hum the same song you guys danced to made your eyes sparkle.
Shanks smoothly twirls you. As he pulls you back to him, you laugh in excitement. There’s a quiet warmth radiating from Shanks' gaze as he looks at you. The two of you stare into each other’s eyes with loving smiles on your faces. Heat rises to both your cheeks as you feel butterflies in your stomach, catching a sense of deja vu, reminding you of your first dance together.
You believed that if you blinked, everything would disappear. Leaning your head against his chest, you listen to his calm heartbeat, whispering, "I don't want to let you go." Tears blur your vision as you grip onto him.
“I know,” Shanks whispers back.
You look up at him with tear-stained cheeks.
It aches Shanks’ heart to see you like this. That he couldn’t bring himself to tell you he was never coming back, though he knew you assumed it. He leans in, touching your forehead, letting out a heavy sigh.
“I love you,” he confessed.
“I love you too.”
His warm lips kissed you with a yearning passion, neither one of you wanting to let go of the embrace. You can feel that this might be the last time you get to hold each other like this.
Shanks steps back, holding your face in his hand, “I only have eyes for you, darling.”
There’s a shared broken smile on your faces as Shanks leans in to give you one last kiss. He stepped back, looking at the red jewel necklace, and gently picked it up.
“A part of me is with you, always,” he promises, letting go of the necklace, giving you one of his charming smiles.
Returning a gentle smile, you give him a seashell that has both of your initials engraved.
“Something for you to remember me.”
Shanks takes it with a sad, loving look on his face, “Thank you.”
He kisses your forehead before making his way back to the docks.
Holding your necklace, you stare at the golden sun with wet tears running down your hot cheeks while listening to the rustling waves. The wind dances around you as you begin to hum the sweet melody of your guys’ song. Thinking of your promising saying in your head:
Being the baker of the Straw Hat crew means that you have to bake a lot, especially with Luffy’s big appetite. You work alongside Sanji, the cook. The two of you collaborate to prepare the meals and desserts, making sure that they complement each other. Which leads you to where you are now. In the kitchen, prepping late at night with the ship’s cook right beside you. The room holds comfortable silence, with the occasional clatter of utensils and other things.
You were deep in thought as you stirred ingredients together in a pot. Feeling something on your face, you wiped your cheek with the back of your hand before continuing the rest of your preparations. But it was quickly interrupted by Sanji.
“So, what are you making, love?” he asked while kneading pasta dough.
You give the cook a quick glance before returning your focus to the simmering pot. “I’m making raspberry jam for my vanilla pudding custard fresh fruit parfait.”
“Ooo…that would definitely complement my creamy marinara pasta with steak and vegetables.” Sanji enthusiastically replies, putting his dough in a bowl to rest.
You smile for a moment before saying, “Wait! That reminds me.”
Intrigued by your reaction, Sanji watches as you turn down the stove and quickly move towards the fridge to take out the bowl of set custard.
Turning back to the kitchen island next to Sanji, you grab a small spoonful of custard.
“Here.” You bring the spoon of custard towards Sanji’s mouth.
Sanji takes the bite and briefly closes his eyes. “Hmmm…That’s really good.” He points at the bowl of custard, “I think that’s going to be my new favorite dessert.”
You playfully roll your eyes at him and smile, as a small blush creeps on your face.
“It’s just the custard. I haven’t assembled it all together yet.”
Sanji gives you a pointed look. “I’m being serious. You know a cook never lies. You’ve got a real talent, Y/N.”
“Thank you,” you reply, with a soft smile on your lips.
Sanji nods before moving his attention towards the uncut vegetables. Falling back into comfortable silence, you return your attention to move the pot of jam to the side. Then you turn back to stare at the bowl of custard.
“You’re making that face again,” Sanji says, briefly glancing at you, then back to cutting.
“Hmmm…” You absentmindedly reply, turning your head toward the cook, scrunching your eyebrows.
“What face?”
Sanji points at your face, “That face. The one where you are very deep in thought about whether you're making the right thing or not.”
You scoff, “I don’t make a face.”
“You’re literally doing it right now,” Sanji says with a knowing smirk.
“I-I-Whatever,” you huff out air as you continue to do your overthinking expression.
Sanji stops cutting vegetables and moves close to you, putting his hands on your shoulders.
“It’s going to be perfect, Y/N. You’ve made the most exquisite custard that will complement the jam and fruit, making the best pairing that’s sooo delicious.”
You squint your eyes at him. You disliked how he understood you so well.
You giggle, shaking your head, “You’re just saying all of this because you want the recipe. I can’t have you be a great cook and baker. You’d steal my spot on this crew.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it,” Sanji says, winking.
“Well… getting the recipe, yes. But taking your spot? NEVER. There’s no greater baker than you.”
You shrug your shoulders, “You’re a pretty good cook.”
Sanji just laughs before staring into your eyes. Looking back, you couldn’t help but get lost in those ocean eyes. You weren’t worried about the dessert that much, but more about your growing feelings for Sanji. You would be the biggest liar to say you didn’t find him attractive, or that his very kind demeanor and personality weren't alluring.
Sanji’s voice snaps you back to reality.
“You got a bit of…” Sanji moves his hand toward your face, wiping the jam off your cheek.
You don’t say anything as he holds your face. You stare into his eyes for a quick moment before clearing your throat. You begin to feel warmth rise in your cheeks.
“Thank you,” you say, looking down at the kitchen island.
“No problem, love,” Sanji replies with a loving and thoughtful look.
Wanting to get yourself out of your flustered state, you take a bit of custard on your finger and put it on Sanji’s nose. Caught off guard, Sanji scrunches his nose and smiles. You couldn’t help but laugh.
Sanji shook his head, “I’m gonna get you back for that.”
You quirk your eyebrow, “Oh, really?”
You gasp as Sanji throws a small handful of flour at you. You wipe your face and stare him down.
“Mhhmm…” he replies, with a big grin on his face.
“This means war,” you state.
Sanji tries to hold in a laugh before you get a small amount of flour, smudging it up to his upper lip.
“That’s what you get!” you say with a huge smile on your face.
He puffs out the flour. The two of you begin a little flour war. Sanji throws a small bit of flour, almost touching the custard on the kitchen island, before you move to block it.
“Not the custard!” You quickly grab the bowl and hold it close.
You stare at Sanji before you both burst into a small fight of laughter. You put the custard back in the fridge before turning back to Sanji.
Sanji grabs the towel off his shoulder and uses it to wipe your face.
“There,” he says softly, looking at you with admiration. He goes to wipe his face.
With a huff of laughter, you say, “Sorry about that. This might’ve been the messiest late-night prep.”
Sanji smirks, “There’s no need for sorries, love. Baking and cooking do get messy. It’s just in our nature.”
“Hmm, you’re not wrong. Though... this was kinda fun."
"It was a lot of fun," Sanji says truthfully.
Sanji takes a step toward you, closing the distance between you two. Your breath hitches as he leans towards your face, making it seem like he’s going to kiss your lips, but at the last second, he kisses your cheek.
Sparks fly when you feel his warm lips touch your cheek. Making you go into a daze.
Looking at you with fondness, he says, “I’m still a gentleman,” with a warm smile on his lips.
Snapping out of your daydream, you slap Sanji on the arm.
“Whatever,” you say with a big smile on your face.
“Don’t you still have food to prep? Or are you going to continue to distract me?”
Sanji just gives you a loving look.
“I do, but maybe I’m enthralled by all your beauty. Plus, I like being with you,” he says knowingly as he shrugs his shoulders.
You gently bump his shoulder. “I like being with you, too. But get back to work,” you reply, pointing at the things on his side of the kitchen island.
“Yes, chef!” He says, saluting with a wink. Moving to wash his hands before continuing his work.
Under the warm kitchen lighting, the space feels more comforting and inviting, after your announced feelings of love. Butterflies erupt in your stomachs as the two of you replay the tender moment. The lingering yearning between the both of you becomes so strong that you never want the night to end. The two of you steal glances here and there with the occasional chatter, leaving you and Sanji late-night prepping in the subtle moonlit room with the same thought:

Pairing: Captain Smoker x Fem!reader ex-marine/captain pirate warlord
Synopsis: After his fight with Monkey D. Luffy. A frustrated and irritated Smoker walks the nightly streets of Logue town, till he is visited by a familiar face that he hasn’t seen in 3 years.
Author's notes: Hello Everyone! Here's the x reader version of Tension. Comments and reblogs are appreciated. :) Happy reading!
A frustrated and irritated Smoker walks the nightly streets of Logue town. He was so close to catching Monkey D. Luffy and his crew if it weren’t for Dragon messing it all up. Just as he was deeply in thought, a woman passed by him. He’s almost caught off guard by her presence. There was just something so familiar about her. Quickly turning his head toward the mysterious woman, he sees her already looking at him. Her eyes change from e/c to purple under the gleaming lights. He freezes for a moment. Smoker remembers those midnight purple eyes anywhere. They belonged to a formal marine, Y/N L/N, a very skilled woman with an interesting Devil Fruit. He once admired her work, but now, as a warlord captain, she was nothing but a filthy traitor to the Marines.
He quickly walked towards her till she disappeared into a dimmed alleyway. Walking with caution, he exhales a big cloud of smoke from his mouth.
“Long time no see,” you say, looking at Smoker as he gets closer; the street lights subtly define your features and the gleaming purple eyes that turn back to their original color.
Annoyed, he looks you up and down.
“What do you want?”
You walk towards him, invading his space bubble, and seductively say, “A little chat with the Captain.”
Smoker clenches his jaw as he presses down on his cigars. “Don’t do that,” he says in a serious tone.
“Do what?” You reply, acting dumb.
Smoker leans toward you with a stern stare. “You know exactly what I mean. This… you left everything because you lost control of your power.” You just snicker at the man.
“I should have you arrested for your crimes,” says Smoker.
“Arrested? For crimes? Did you forget that I’m a warlord? A very powerful one, too.” You looked him up and down before adding a snarky remark, “You would like to see that, though, wouldn’t you? Me in cuffs?”
Smoker scoffs. “You wish. I just see a traitor in my eyes,” he says as if it’s a well-known fact.
You just smile at the man as you look into his eyes, “I miss this. The snickering remarks. Acting like you mean to hurt me with words, but you don’t.”
Shaking his head, Smoker looks away. You bring your finger toward the Captain’s face. Mesmerizing the structure of his features, turning his face toward you, your lips almost touch his.
“So, Smoker-”
“It’s Captain Smoker to you.” Smoker roughly replies as he looks down at you.
“Funny. Has it been so long that we’re no longer on first-name terms? Cause last time…”
Smoker straightens up and backs you up against the cold stone wall.
“If I recall, it wasn’t me calling my name last time,” Smoker says confidently.
“You wish,” you reply, rolling your eyes. The tables have turned, and Smoker enjoys the small blush on your face as he exhales smoke from his cigar.
“Didn’t have to, sweetheart.” Smoker just smirks at the slightly flustered woman warlord.
Caught off guard, you clear your throat, "Whatever."
Smoker takes the two cigars out of his mouth as he inches closer to your lips. Purposely teasing you.
“You’re an asshole,” you say as you slyly smile as you look at Smoker’s lips and then his eyes.
Smoker “innocently” replies with a dumbfounded tone, “I don’t know what you mean. Just returning the favor.”
You smirk, “Touche.”
You graze the white-haired man’s lip. You both stop breathing for a moment.
Smoker steps back, saying, “Now get to your point so I can go back to headquarters.”
You look into his eyes, “I just came to give you promising information about a certain pirate crew.”
Smoker quirks his eyebrow up.
“Really?” he sarcastically asked
“Yes, I wouldn’t have been here for no reason,” you knowingly say.
Smoker just grumbles in response. You get a folder from your coat and hand it to Smoker, “Here.”
Smoker carefully grabs the folder. “What’s in it?”
“Everything you need to know about every Straw Hat pirate. You may think they’re just like every other pirate crew, but they’re different.” Then you add after a pause, “Especially the captain, Monkey D. Luffy.” You smile at the thought of the enthusiastic young pirate.
Smoker studies your expression. “You have a soft spot for the kid,” he says knowingly.
“Just go easy on them. You might actually change your mind about them. Especially Luffy. I know what you’re thinking, Smoker. He’s just like Roger.”
Smoker points at you as he harshly replies, “It’s Captain to you. And of course, you have a soft spot for some dirty pirates. Did you forget the code we were taught when we were kids?”
There’s a tinge of disappointment laced in Smoker’s voice. A moment of vulnerability that he despises. Y/N was always a calming presence to him, but once she left and became a pirate, now a warlord, he hardened his heart and kept his “distance”, though it was hard at times.
You look at him with soft eyes and snarkily reply, “No, I never did, Smokey. I just changed, that’s all.”
Smoker doesn’t say anything about the old nickname. He completely forgot about it. It became an inside joke between the two when they were younger, but they weren’t kids anymore.
“You don’t get to call me that. Just because we knew each other as kids doesn’t change anything. I still resent you,” he says harshly, caging you against the wall.
You scoff, “Oh, please. As you said before, the last time we saw each other, that resentment was used for something else.” You look in his eyes, then quickly glance at his lips.
Smoker clenches his jaw, biting hard on his cigars. “That was three years ago.”
“Well… I kinda miss that time. It was fun, wasn’t it, Captain?” You look at him with siren eyes.
Smoker just looks at you. There’s something dark behind his eyes.
You smirk, “What? Cat got your tongue?”
Smoker scowls and uses his abilities to choke you with smoke. This woman irritated him so much.
You laugh, “You couldn’t fight me, even if you tried.”
“Sounds like a challenge,” Smoker tilts his head, putting more pressure on your neck.
“No, not a challenge, just a well-known fact.” Your eye color changes to midnight purple.
Smoker blows smoke into your face, but it doesn’t faze you at all. He goes to grab his nanashaku jitte, but you stop him with your power. Smoker begins to feel like he’s no longer in control of his body. He looks at the woman with anger.
“See? Don’t test me, Smokey.”
Continuing to push against your powers, Smoker leans into your face, holding his grip on your neck. “You don’t get to win. No one escapes me.”
You give him a sly smile, “Then do it already. I’m waiting.”
Smoker spits the two cigars out of his mouth. “I won’t give you the satisfaction. Not yet.”
No longer using his power, he lets go of your neck, and you do the same. Neither of you says anything, just staring into each other’s eyes. You're the first to break the silence.
“Do it,” you whisper under your breath, softly grazing his lip. Smoker just growls as he feels your bodies pressed against each other. Heat radiating off the two of you. He couldn’t restrain himself anymore. He roughly kisses you. You grab onto Smoker’s jacket as he puts his hand on the back of your neck, pulling you closer (if that was possible). The kiss was rough and full of passion; it was a fight for dominance, words that were never spoken, and secret nights together. All the tension and resentment that they felt was spoken in that kiss.
Breaking the kiss, Smoker takes a step back, making you let go of your grip on his jacket. The sound of your guys' heavy breathing fills the dim alleyway. Placing two new cigars in his mouth, Smoker lights them up. As he takes a puff, you step forward and steal one of the cigars from his mouth. Smoker is nonetheless surprised for a moment, slightly scowling with a faint smirk. You casually take a few puffs of the cigar as you smooth your coat.
“This was nice,” You say as you let the cigar touch the cobblestone floor and step on it, snuffing it out.
Smoker just looks at your actions with an expression of disbelief and annoyance, “That was a perfectly good cigar.”
You completely ignore him. “Hmm. I hope to see you again, Captain,” you turn your back from Smoker, walking away.
“You owe me one!” He calls out, watching you.
You stop in your tracks and smirk to yourself. “Save it for another day.”
Smoker just grunts with a scowl as he mutters under his breath, “You can count on it, Ms. L/N.”
Leaving him in the dimmed alleyway full of tension.
Pairing: Captain Smoker x Fem! OC ex-marine/captain pirate warlord
OC Name: Vera Ren Thorin
Synopsis: After his fight with Monkey D. Luffy. A frustrated and irritated Smoker walks the nightly streets of Logue town, till he is visited by a familiar face that he hasn’t seen in 3 years.
Author's notes: Hello Everyone! I hope you guys enjoy this story. It's been a while since I've written something, but I had a lot of fun coming up with this story. Also, should I make an x reader version of this story? Let me know. Please enjoy this story! Happy reading!
Her eyes change from brown to purple under the gleaming lights. He freezes for a moment. Smoker remembers those midnight purple eyes anywhere. They belonged to a formal marine, Vera Thorin, a very skilled woman with an interesting Devil Fruit. He once admired her work, but now, as a warlord captain, she was nothing but a filthy traitor to the Marines.
He quickly walked towards her till she disappeared into a dimmed alleyway. Walking with caution, he exhales a big cloud of smoke from his mouth.
“Long time no see,” Vera says, looking at Smoker as he gets closer; the street lights subtly defining her features and the gleaming midnight purple eyes that turn back to their original color.
Annoyed, he looks at the woman in front of him up and down.
“What do you want?” Smoker says.
Vera walks towards him, invading his space bubble, and seductively says, “A little chat with the Captain.”
Smoker clenches his jaw as he presses down on his cigars. “Don’t do that,” he says in a serious tone.
“Do what?” Vera replies, acting dumb.
Smoker leans toward Vera with a stern stare. “You know exactly what I mean. This… you left everything because you lost control of your power and became too powerful.” Vera just snickers at the man.
“I should have you arrested for your crimes,” says Smoker.
“Arrested? For crimes? Did you forget that I’m a warlord? A very powerful one, too. You would like to see that, wouldn’t you, me in cuffs?” she says.
Smoker scoffs. “You wish. I just see a traitor in my eyes,” he says as if it’s a well-known fact.
Vera just smiles at the man as she looks into his eyes, “I miss this. The snickering remarks. Seeming like you mean to hurt me with words, but you don’t.”
Shaking his head, Smoker looks away. Vera brings her finger toward the Captain’s face. Mesmerizing the structure of his features. Turning his face toward her. Her lips almost touch his.
“So, Smoker-”
“It’s Captain Smoker to you.” Smoker roughly replies as he looks down at her.
“Funny. Has it been that long that we’re no longer on first-name terms? Cause last time it wasn’t.”
Smoker straightens up and backs Vera up against the cold stone wall.
“If I recall, it wasn’t me calling my name last time,” Smoker says confidently.
“You wish,” says Vera, rolling her eyes. The tables have turned, and Smoker enjoys her small blush as he exhales smoke from his cigar.
“Didn’t have to, sweetheart.” Smoker just smirks at the slightly flustered woman warlord.
“Whatever," Vera says.
Taking the two cigars out of his mouth, Smoker inches closer to her mouth. Purposely teasing the woman.
“You’re an asshole,” says Vera
Vera slyly smiles as she looks at Smoker’s lips and then his eyes.
Smoker “innocently” replies with a dumbfounded tone, “I don’t know what you mean. Just doing what you were doing minutes ago,”
Vera smirks, “Touche.”
Vera grazes the white-haired man’s lip. They both stop breathing for a moment.
Smoker steps back, saying, “Just get to your point so I can go back to headquarters.”
Vera looks in his eyes, “I just came to give you promising information about a certain pirate crew.”
Smoker quirks his eyebrow up.
“Really?” he sarcastically asked
“Yes. Now, I wouldn’t have been here if it weren’t for no reason,” she knowingly says.
Smoker just grumbles in response. Vera gets a folder from her coat and hands it to Smoker, “Here.”
Smoker carefully grabs the folder. “What’s in it?”
“Everything you need to know about every Straw Hat pirate. You may think they’re just like every other pirate, but they’re different, especially the captain, Monkey D. Luffy.” She smiles at the thought of the enthusiastic young pirate.
Smoker studies her expression. “You have a soft spot for the kid,” he says knowingly.
“Just go easy on them. You might actually change your mind about them. Especially Luffy. I know what you’re thinking, Smoker. He’s just like Roger.”
Smoker points at Vera as he harshly replies, “It’s Captain to you. And of course, you have a soft spot for some dirty pirates. Did you forget the code we were taught since kids?”
There’s a tinge of disappointment laced in Smoker’s voice. A moment of vulnerability that he despises. Vera was always a calming presence to him, but once she left and became a pirate, now a warlord. He hardened his heart and kept his “distance”, though it was hard at times.
Vera looks at him with soft eyes and snarkily replies, “No, I never did, Smokey. I just changed, that’s all.”
Smoker doesn’t say anything about the old nickname. He completely forgot about that nickname. It became an inside joke between the two when they were younger, but they weren’t kids anymore.
“You don’t get to call me that. Just because we knew each other as kids doesn’t change anything. I still resent you,” he says harshly, caging her against the wall.
Vera scoffs, “Oh, please, as you said before, the last time we saw each other, that resentment was used for something else,” as she looks at his eyes, then quickly glances at his lips.
Smoker clenches his jaw, biting hard on his cigars. “That was three years ago.”
“Well… I kinda miss that time. It was fun, wasn’t it, Captain?” She looks at him with siren eyes.
Smoker just looks at Vera. There’s something dark behind his eyes.
Vera smirks, “What? Cat got your tongue?”
Smoker scowls and uses his abilities to choke her with smoke. This woman irritated him so much.
Vera laughs, “You couldn’t fight me, even if you tried.”
“Sounds like a challenge,” Smoker tilts his head, putting more pressure on her neck.
“No, not a challenge, just a well-known fact.” Vera’s eye color changes to midnight purple.
Smoker blows smoke into Vera’s face, but it doesn’t faze her at all. He goes to grab his nanashaku jitte, but Vera stops him with her power. Smoker begins to feel like he’s no longer in control of his body. He looks at the woman with anger.
“See? Don’t test me, Smokey.”
Continuing to push against her powers, Smoker leans into her face, holding his grip on her neck. “You don’t get to win. No one escapes me.”
Vera gives him a sly smile, “Then do it already. I’m waiting.”
Smoker spits the two cigars out of his mouth. “I won’t give you the satisfaction, not yet.”
No longer using his power, he lets go of her neck, and Vera does the same. Smoker’s arm is finally able to relax. The two are so close to each other that they can hear their heavy breathing. Neither of them says anything, just staring into each other’s eyes. Vera is the first to break the silence.
“Do it,” whispering under her breath, softly grazing his lip. Smoker just growls as he feels their bodies pressed against each other. Heat radiating off them. He couldn’t restrain himself, roughly kissing her. Vera grabs onto Smoker’s jacket as he puts his hand on the back of her neck, pulling her closer (if that was possible). The kiss was rough and full of passion; it was a fight for dominance, words that were never spoken, and secret nights together. All the tension and resentment that they felt was spoken in that kiss.
Breaking the kiss, Smoker takes a step back, making Vera let go of her grip on his jacket. The sound of their heavy breathing fills the dim alleyway. Placing two cigars in his mouth, Smoker lights them up. As he takes a puff, Vera steps forward and steals one of the cigars from his mouth. Smoker is nonetheless surprised for a moment, slightly scowling with a faint smirk. Vera casually takes a few puffs of the cigar as she smooths her coat.
“This was nice,” Vera says as she lets the cigar touch the cobblestone floor and steps on it, stuffing it out.
Smoker just looks at her actions with an expression of disbelief and annoyance, “That was a perfectly good cigar.”
Vera completely ignores him. “Hmm. I hope to see you again, Captain,” she turns her back from Smoker, walking away.
“You owe me one!” He calls out watching her.
Vera stops in her tracks and smirks to herself. “Save it for another day.”
Smoker just grunts with a scowl as he mutters under his breath, “You can count on it, Ms. Thorin.”
Leaving him in the dimmed alleyway full of tension.
