A simple game of chess series: Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3
Summary: Zemo makes Y/n play a game, a game that will determine the fate of her and her friends. How far is Y/n willing to go to save her friends lives? But more importantly, how good are they in a game of chess. (I actually suck at playing chess so If anyone has any tips or something pls!! tell me) (also sorry its short :( I promise it will be worth it, as they say "trust the process")

“What game do you want to play?”

“All I want to do is play a simple game of chess, with a slight twist of course.” Turning around, Zemo reached to grab, what looked like, a very old wooden box. Opening it he pulled out a simple chess board and placed the pieces on the table.
“You want to play a board game? You went to the trouble of kidnapping me just so you could have me play a game with you?” Raising her eyebrow Y/n gave him a confused and disappointed look.
Shaking his head he let out a small chuckle at the girl's confusion. “I’m afraid it’s a bit more complicated than that dear Y/n. You see I need information on your little band of superheroes, and you just so happen to be close to all of them. They all confide in you, and the information I need isn’t in any database I can hack and get into.”
Y/n’s p.o.v
My eyebrows pinch together, “So let me get this straight.. You want me to play a game of chess with you, in order to get information on the Avengers? Why not just torture the information out of me instead?” Zemo walks around the chair I’m tied to like he's some kind of hunter stalking his prey.
“Now, now, Miss. Y/L/N I thought you knew me better than that. Torture isnt trully my style, I much prefer playing on a more… equal field you could say. When it comes to chess both players lose pieces to the other, but in the end there can only be one winner.”
He pulls out a box from a bag and places it on the table to my left. “What does getting information out of me have to do with playing chess?” Opening the box he pulls out two black bags and a board, a chess board.
“As I said earlier I enjoy playing on equal ground, so for our little chess game, every time you take one of my pieces I give you information on say a hydra base, or maybe illegal moving of alien goods, your pick. But..”
He walks towards me and unties my hands from the chair. I rub my wrists hoping to relive some of the pain from the restraints.
“Every piece I take from you is how many times you're going to help me get what I want. You're going to give me insight on how to take down your friends, their weaknesses if you will. And that information is in no file I can find. So, you give me the information I want and none of your friends have to get hurt because of you. The bigger the piece the better the information is, ”
Zemo takes a seat at one end of the table, gesturing for me to sit on the other. Pulling up the chair I was in I took a seat and looked at the contents on the table. One chess board, two bags in which hold the pieces, and one phone, most likely a burner phone from the looks of it. “And what happens when someone wins, what then?”
“In the case of me winning, you give me any and everything I want. Every file and database, all the secret hiding spots and agents in SHIELD, you give me everything.”
Shifting in my seat I eye him for some kind of tell, but I find none. He means it, if he wins he knows I’ll give him anything to keep the others safe. “And if I win, what then?”
“If you do manage to win, then I will give you every single thing I have on hydra and their spies. And I throw in something of your choice, within reason of course. I can't go spilling all my secrets to you. That would just be too easy now wouldn't it.” Leaning back in his chair, he gives me some sick grin, like he thinks he’s already won the game before it even started.
I study him for a minute, watching his movements and facial expressions, trying to tell if he's lying or telling the truth. He’s confident that's for sure. “Win or lose, then what? You just let me go? There's no catch to it?”
“Oh, dear Y/n, theirs is always a catch to it. Everytime I get one of your pieces I get something, little or small I don't care, same for me of course. But I can’t leave with nothing. And… win or lose you get to leave. Because even if I don't win you still leave and have to face your little friends, tell them you gave me information about them.”

In this story after the civil war, they all made up and the endgame never happened. Y/n's power is that she can manipulate and control light. This might later turn into a x reader fic but I haven't decided with who yet.

3rd Person
Everyone was on high alert. The reason behind it being that Zemo had escaped prison and was now on the run. This meant extra patrolling, no breaks, more meetings, more training, and absolutely no room for error, everyone was on high alert. They all took shifts watching over certain places that Zemo may visit or places of any importance.
Today it was y/n’s turn to patrol a few areas, and with her being “a kid” as Tony called her, though she was actually 22, they sent her to watch the more simple areas for tonight especially since she was going alone. Those places being things like abandoned buildings, docks, and shipping yards.
Y/n sighed as she once again made her rounds around the docks. She was getting tired of this. “I mean honestly Pete, how much longer do I have to be out here? It’s freezing, smells like dead fish, and we’ve been at this for hours today alone,” she spoke into the earpiece.
“Trust me y/n, I’m just as exhausted as you are. But you know what they said, we have to catch Zemo before he does anything.” She knew her friend was right, but that still didn’t stop her from complaining.
“Ya ya I know. I wanna catch the guy just as much as they do. I mean the man literally hurt and manipulated my friends causing them to fight against each other in some stupid civil war. Believe me Pete, when I find this guy he’s going to wish he never messed with us,” Y/n could hear him chuckle at her little rant through the phone, “So I’m all for catching him, but it's still cold out here.” With that they both burst into laughs.
Peter took a deep breath before he spoke, “Y/n I have no doubt that we are going to find Zemo, and that once we find him-..,” Y/n paused in her searching at the sound of her friend cutting in and out, “pays for wha-...”
“Pete, Peter, are you there… you're breaking out?” She was confused and beyond concerned with the situation once she heard the earpiece begin to static. Then it started to spark, she took it out of her ear, and threw it onto the ground seconds before it caught on fire.
This was most definitely not good, because now she had no way of contacting anyone for backup in case something went south. How on earth was she going to get in contact with anyone? She didn't have her phone on her, she never took it on missions, and she had no other way of getting a hold on someone.
Y/n took a deep breath and started walking around. Maybe I can find a pay phone somewhere around here, she thought.
“Now, it's not very safe to be walking around in a place like this all by yourself. Surely someone of your standards, what with being an Avenger and all, should know that.”
Alarmed at the sudden voice, Y/n looks all around her trying to find the person it belonged to.
“Zemo..”
“Smart girl.”
Looking all around she had yet to spot him, but she could feel his eyes on her. “Show yourself you coward!” Movement to her left caught her eye, and without another thought she cast her hand out and with a split second a magnificent ball of light left her hand and shot straight towards… nothing. How disappointing, she thought. Again something caught her eye, but still he was not there.
“Now, now, there's no need for that. I’m not here to fight you. I just want to play a game with you… A simple game of chess.”
Then everything went black…

With a sharp inhale Y/n slowly lifted her head. Trying to move turned out to be impossible as she was locked in place to some kind of metal chair. Looking around she saw a table in front of her with a box on it. Off to the side was a large computer set up, screens and tvs hung on the wall. This is not good, so not good.. “Son of a-..”
“Please Miss L/n, none of that is necessary. I believe we got off to the wrong start, I do apologize for the way I had to get you here, couldn't have your little Avengers getting in the way of our game. Not when I spent so much time getting everything ready and getting you here.”
“You must be more stupid than they gave you credit for if you think for a second that I’ll play whatever sick game you’ve come up with.” Every word she said dripped with anger as she pulled against the cuffs around her wrists.
“Oh don’t worry child, this is a game you're going to have to play, because if you don’t then your dear friends are most definitely going to die.” Zemo grabbed a remote from the table and pressed a button. With a flash of light every screen lit up. And what played on them shocked Y/n to her core.
Each screen showed her a video of what appeared to be her friends, Tony in his lab working on a new suit, Natasha and Bucky training in the tower, Steve walking around some park with Sam, Clint jumping from roof to roof, even Peter who was swinging around. More tv's all around showing all her friends and everyone she cared about.
With a questioning gaze she looked from the screens to Zemo, “And why should I believe anything you say? So you hacked a few cameras, good for you, for all I know you're just bluffing.”
“You may be right, but are you truly willing to take that risk?”
He was right, and Y/n knew it, there was no way that she could tell if he was telling the truth or not. And there was no way she could risk her friends' lives like that, but still, she didn't want to play whatever game he had come up with.
The longer Y/n sat there the more Zemo was losing his patients, “I’m running out of patients with you girl. If you don’t make a decision in the next 5 seconds then all your friends are going to suffer.”
Y/n has always been there for the pack, her pack, and her family. What happens when a Nogitsune of sorts gets her friend? What will happen when they all have to fight for their lives?

Y/n saw a figure behind her friend's back, and before she could understand what was happening she saw the shine of light off a sword. Before anyone could react y/n had shoved Allison to the side.
And that's when everything went totally wrong.
Everything happened in slow motion after that. Y/n's ears started ringing, and everything was a blur. She felt like her body was on fire, her entire being was in pain. However through all of it she could faintly hear her friends shouting something.
And the next thing she knew she was being pulled into someone's arms. But, when she looked to see who it was, everything was foggy, she couldn't see what was going on around her.
She blinked her eyes a few times to make the fogginess go away and when it did she could see a face. It was Derek's face..
But- Was he crying? Why was he crying? Y/n tried to lift her hand up to wipe away his tears but that's when she felt it.. The unbearable pain in her chest. She tried to look at it, but she felt a hand on her face preventing her from looking at it.
"Hey no, no, don't look okay? Just look at me. Focus on me." And so she did. She looked at Derek's face instead of her bleeding wound.
"Derek.. it- it hurts. It hurts so much.." She whispers to him, trying to find the strength to keep her eyes open. She was getting tired. Her eyes began to close, but Derek shook her.
"No, no, don't close your eyes, okay? Stay with me. Just- just keep them open for me." She could hear the tremble in his voice as he spoke.
"Y/N!" Alison came running up to her friend and kneeled next to her along with Scott.
"Y/n I'm so sorry I didn't see it behind me and oh my god.. I'm so sorry." Y/n looked at her friend and saw the tears in her eyes.
"It-it's alright Allison. It wasn't your f-fault. I pushed you out of the w-way. Please this.. this wasn't your fault-" y/n winced as her body slightly jolted in pain. She groaned and felt the tears falling down her face.
"Y/n/n!!" Scott called out to his older sister. Landing next to her, taking in her other hand. He brushed the loose hair on her face to the side.
Y/n could see the tears spilling down his cheeks. Could see the look of terror and sadness in his eyes.
But what could she say to him?
That everything was going to be okay? That she was fine? It didn't hurt that bad? No, Y/n couldn't say those things. So.. Y/n said the only thing she could think to say. "I love you little bro... and tell mom I love her-.. '' She coughed and took a deep breath, "that I love her to." She paused, "I'm sorry.." her tears ran down her cheeks.
It was a sad sight to see. Issac was holding onto Alison, Stiles with Lydia, while Derek and Scott sat next to her. And all were crying. Keeping each other upright as they all felt sick and weak. This was their friend, their family and pack member.. No one could move, no one could talk. They stood and watched as their friend, who they considered an older sister to everyone, was dying. For, what were they supposed to do?
Y/n could feel herself slipping away. It was getting hard to keep her eyes open. Her thoughts started to wander. She thought about her family, her friends and pack mates, and her lover.
She thought about her powers. She was a healer, this was her literal job, the thing she did best. Although there was more to it. Others would call her a witch, a very powerful one. Couldn't she just heal herself? She had the ability to, did she not?
But it was too late, Y/n could feel it. She didn't have the strength. Didn't have the energy to call her powers.
Y/n, with what little will power she had left, moved her head to look at Derek. The pain she saw on his face made her heart break more. The tears in his eyes trailed down his face.
She hated it when he cried. And she hated it even more because in this case she was the reason for his tears.
Slowly, she lifted her hand again. With the pad of her thumb she wiped the tears off her lover's cheek, cupping the side of his face in her small and bloody hands.
"Don't cry", she pleaded. "Your supposed to be my sour wolf, not my sad wolf." She finished with a smile stretching across her face.
A small had spread across Derek's face at her attempt at humor. Stiles let out a small laugh, hugging Lydia closer to his side.
He looks at his best friend, his sister even. And he blames himself. He knows it wasn't necessarily his fault for this, but he blamed himself nonetheless.
As if she could read his thoughts Y/n looked at the younger boy and smiled at him. Without words being spoken he new in that moment she didn't blame him, she'd never blame him. Not when it was all out of his control.
"There has to be something, anything, we can do.. You can't just die. Not like this." Scott spoke out loud, though more to himself then the people around him.
“Hey, it's okay.” She looked at her brother with her signature smile. “It doesn't hurt,” she continued. “I'm surrounded by the people I love.. my family.” Breathing in deeply she started to cough violently. “And that's all I could ever ask for.”

I'm, again, SO sorry for how long this took!!
But on another note should their be a part 3? Does Y/n somehow make it out of this mess alive. Or does she truly and simply die? Protecting the people that she treasures most.
Summary: Y/n has always been there for the pack, her pack, and her family. What happens when a Nogitsune of sorts gets her friend? What will happen when they all have to fight for their lives? This takes place during Season 3 (spoilers if you haven't seen the season yet) it's been a long time since I've seen this so some things may not have happened or been said.
Part 2
Y/n had been there for the pack since the very beginning. From the day Scoot was turned she had always been there. She was well known around town, everybody knew her. Even the Hales were good friends of hers. She worked as a nurse at the hospital and the school. So she saw Melissa and Noah from time to time. So, they're for, y/n new of the Scott and Stiles, and trouble they would sometimes get into. Although they weren't close she always helped them, even if they didn't know it, that's her little secret though. See, y/n was a healer and she had this sense that was able to tell when someone was supernatural. They had found out what she was when she helped Scott heal Derek when Kate shot him.
Everyone was on edge since they all found out that Stiles was possessed. So y/n tried her best to keep everyone together. To help them when they needed it. But sometimes, things would get to her.
Y/n's p.o.v
"Alright, does everyone understand the plan?" Scott and the rest of us were going over the plan one more time to stop Void before anyone else got hurt. I was standing in the corner watching and listening to them. I had had this feeling for a while, that something bad would happen, but I didn't say anything. I wanted to think that it was just a feeling and that nothing would actually happen to any of us. I pushed the feeling down and went back to listening to the plan again.
I was sitting on the couch after standing for a bit. I was leaning forward staring at the floor. This feeling still wouldn't go away. I couldn't stop thinking about whether one of us might not make it back. I had grown very close to these kids, and I don't even want to imagine if one of them left. I felt the tears start to fill my eyes, but I held them back. Wanting to be strong for others. Out of nowhere, I voiced my thoughts out loud to the group. "Guys, what if we can't stop him? What if one of us doesn't make it back from this?"
Isaac put a hand on my shoulder, "We'll get through this." At that Allison came and sat next to me and wrapped me in a tight hug. Scott looked over and gave me a warm smile. I gave Allison a quick squeeze and then got up from my spot on the couch. "Alright then. Let's go save our friends and stop Nogitsune."
*An hour later*
3rd person p.o.v
They had been fighting the Oni for what felt like forever. Everybody was tired and starting to lose hope. But not y/n, she was trying her best to stop them, and boy did she try her best. She was never a good fighter, but she was amazing with a gun, and maybe a bow and arrow. And not only was she fighting back against the Oni but also trying to help the others. Something that she kept a secret was that she was able to transfer her energy to someone else, but there were some side effects. When she used her powers her eyes turned to a light shade of gray, but also if she gave them too much she would have none left for herself, meaning she could die from it. But that wasn't stopping her right now.
"SCOTT!!" y/n yelled at her friend. He looked at her and gave her a confused look. She reached into her pocket and grabbed something out of it, brought it up to her mouth, and whispered something into it before tossing it to him. He looked at it and said, "What is this?" "It should help you stop void, for-" she turned and shot another Oni before continuing, " good. Just break it and spread the pieces onto him." "Why are you giving this to me just now?!" He said while fighting off his own Oni. "Because you'll need all the help you can get, and I have a feeling I won't be there to help you fight him again. And besides, I just thought of it." She hadn't noticed before but everyone had been listening to the conversation while fighting.
"Y/n your eyes, they're glowing.!" Isaac was the first to notice. "I know that Isaac!" She said shooting at another one of the Oni that just kept reappearing. This time it was Derek who spoke, "Y/n if you keep using your magic you could die!" "I can heal faster than you guys, and besides you, all need it more than me anyway!" Y/n was starting to feel weak, but she didn't care. She would rather die than watch her friends suffer. So she kept pushing herself, she had to help them heal, help them stay strong. Even if it meant losing herself in the process.
The fight was almost over, y/n could feel it. Although she could also feel how weak she was getting. She didn't know how much longer she could take this. She hadn't realized it but she was surrounded on all sides by the Oni. Her bow broke a bit ago so all she had were her daggers and fists, and that can only get her so far. She knew she was in bad shape and was in desperate need of a break but she kept pushing through.
After some time the Oni left her side and she was able to breathe for a second. Then just as quickly as they left one came back. Y/n didn't see it until it was too late, the Oni had shoved her to the ground, and she grunted loudly when her body hit the cold, hard, cement beneath her. When she got shoved she lost her daggers and was left with just her hands, and with these guys that wouldn't be enough to save her. Before she knew it the Oni had its sword pointed at her. She looked up at its face, and for a minute y/n thought that this would be it for her.
Y/n's p.o.v
Damn, that hurt like a mother trucker. Come on, y/n. Think, THINK. God there has to be some way I can get out of this mess. Looking up at its face, I can see that it's lifted its sward and has it raised right near my face. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I see someone behind the Oni. It's Allison! I can see she has her bow lifted and is ready to shoot the Oni. Right before it raises its sword I give her a nod and roll to the left out of reach.
I watch as she lets the arrow go, and it hits. I let out a long sigh before getting up and giving Allison a warm smile. "Thank you," I told her, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Of course y/n, and you thought you could do it all by yourself." I rolled my eyes and laughed lightly with her. "I guess I did need a bit of help after all." We both smiled at each other, and that's when I said it. Then, it was like everything was happening in slow motion.

This one took me forever to write, but I'm so veeeeery proud of this. Part 2 anyone?? (Either way I'ma probably do a part 2 lol) So I was thinking I could turn the next one into a Character x reader instead of doing another pack x reader? What do you guys think, and who should I do it with?

I was outside the school next to one of my best friends, Mason, as my other best friend Liam talked to one of the lacrosse players from Denver prep (I think that's how you spell it 😅).
Ever since Liam came to our school ,and we became friends, he is always talking about his old school's lacrosse team and how he hated someone called Brett who he used to play lacrosse with.
I watched as Liam walked up to one of the boys, who I could only assume was Brett. I looked at him and as if he new he looked back at me. After a few seconds of us staring at each other I got this worm feeling in my stomach, not something I’ve felt before, and I could almost feel my cheeks heating up slightly. Then I noticed he winked at me and looked back to Liam.
I do the same, only to see Liam having blood dripping from his hand. I leave Mason's side knowing that Liam was probably about to wolf out.
Oh did I forget to mention that I know about the supernatural. It's kinda a given since I'm Scott McCall's younger sister. Though I must say, I am the better looking sibling.
I push past the crowd and as Scott and Stiles grab Liam to calm him down I speak up.
"Hi their prep students, my name is y/n. Welcome to our public high school." I extend my hand out, which Brett takes with grin plastered on his face.
"Brett. Brett Talbot."
I flash him a smile and take my hand back, "Well it was nice meeting you boys. I'll see at the game later."
With that I turn on my heel following the boys into the school.
