HOW DO I DRAW ANIMALS TEACH ME YOUR WAYS PLEASE
I’M FINALLY MOTIVATED TO MAKE ONE OF MY SHITTY ANIMATICS AND I CAN’T DRAW MY CHARACTERS :(((((
OKAY SO this is just how i do it. ill start with German Shepard bc i saw you mention that somewhere
first, start off with looking at the basic shape of the head. you can add more base lines to help you get the proportions right (eg. the distance between ear and eye) but i kept it a basic shape to keep it simple to follow
MAKE SURE the mouth area on a side profile is at an angle, not straight up and down.
after you get the basic head shape, look back at your reference on the shape of the eyes and how the fur moves on the animal
in my experience, this can work for pretty much any mammal
i have a lot of experience in it so i can do it pretty much first try, but you might not have as much experience so DONT GET DISCOURAGED it takes practice. im 19. been practicing for a WHILE now
i cannot stress enough the importance of references. i also don't see anything wrong with tracing while you're starring out, just to understand the way the animal body moves and the proportions, but do try to draw it without tracing eventually, so you can actually learn
