Moonstone Island
One of my favourite games in the "cozy" genre. Creature collector meets card-based combat! Explore the Island and dungeons, romance characters, customize your house using the rich catalogue of cute furniture!
Price: 19.99 (7.99 on sale) Here are some of my screenshots from the game :) My house and Island!
My collection of creatures!
My spouse Paolo!
Combat!
Exploration!
The devs recently announced a new game in the "Moonstone" genre!
One of my favourite video game experiences is buying a game on release day and since the game just came out, there aren't any guides yet, so when i have issues and i'm stuck, i talk to other people on the steam community, reddit or studio's discord server (if they have one). I absolutely love interacting with other gamers.
(Re9 Spoilers) Honestly I am baffled anyone would find Grace is annoying when she literally became my favourite character even before i finished the game.
The fact that even though she's scared and confused she still tries to save Emily UGH i love their relationship so much.
The fact that Emily survived was more of a shocker to me than when i saw Leon die (It was kind of obvious to me that she would turn the moment she came on the screen tbh).
And i genuinely cannot understand anyone saying Grace's stutters are annoying when i was amazed the entire time, listening to her voice. There's no way it's Angela Sant'Albanos' first voice acting job bro i refuse to believe it.
But my biggest gripe with the game was the lack of original characters, where are other Racoon City survivors, not even Jill, Claire or Ada???
I do love sherry though, she looks soooo good in the game !!!
For the past few weeks i have been constantly declining plans for the first week after the release of re9 and just when i thought i can avoid social interaction turns out my friends birthday drops on 28th which means i either beat the game in a day or turn my phone off completely until i get home. I AM NOT GETTING SPOILED THIS TIME.
Every time i see video game companies supporting each other and treating each other with respect rather than as competition something heals in my heart.
It's okay.
It's okay to like bad games.
It's okay to like and consume things you criticize.
It's okay to think a game that is universally hated is good.
It's okay to admit the game isn't for you.
It's okay to try out new genres and not like them.
It's okay to dislike a very popular game.
It's okay to disagree.
It's okay to like games without knowing everything about them.
It's okay to not be able to afford a game and watch a playthrough.
It's okay to like popular things. they're popular for a reason.
It's okay to talk about games you hate.
It's okay to not play a new popular game that just came out.
It's okay to play a game over and over.
It's okay to not care about other people's opinions about a game you love.
It's okay.
I love choice based video games and how many different ways you can make choices matter.
In Witcher 3 there are multiple endings based on pretty unimportant choices.
In Fatal Frame the ending is either based on a very minor thing or a huge decision you have to make.
In Infamous: Second Son you work towards your ending from the very beginning, with the game making it pretty obvious what you need to do.
In undertale you can get a different ending by quite literally sitting and murdering every single enemy until there's nobody left.
Detroit: become human gives you an entire tree of choices that you can return to anytime.
I need to play more choice based video games.
Can you believe someone once said playing single player video games is sad.
Story based games aren't even remotely similar to movies.
Choice video games shouldn't have a canon ending.
Unless they're getting a sequel.
But that ending should only be canon in the sequel.
I need endings in video games to be polar opposites of each other.
i need the endings to reflect our personalities and morals.
I need to forget every video game i played so i can replay it.
I hope leon doesn't die in residen't evil 9.
Or maybe he should.
I'll be sad though.
I love remakes of old video games.
I love playing original versions of remade games.
Remakes aren't substitues for their originals.
Remake and remaster isn't the same thing.
The original game and the remake isn't the same game.
I love when remakes while respecting the originals make changes and fix things that didn't work out.
I love when we get official ports for old video games.
I love when companies give us affordable collections and make it accesible for everyone.
I hate when original elitists judge people for only playing the remakes. I hate when remake elitists judge people for only playing the originals.
I love when remakes give winks to everyone who played the original while being accesible to new players.
I love when remakes add soundtracks from the original game.
We need more remakes.
Stop pushing new sci-fi slop triple A games.
If you want to be safe about new games, just create remakes.
Stop keeping beloved IP's hostage.
Experiment.
Create.
Give developers creative freedom.
Give us ports to console locked games.
Stop killing IP's.
Stop making games only available in bundles.
Stop delisting originals when the remasters comes out.
Listen to players.
I always find it interesting when someone tells me a specific part of the game was made because of the technical limitations rather than choice. As much as i'm happy about the technological progress of video games it pains me that we will never experience something like that ever again. Seeing how developers tackled these issues gives the games something insanely human, something that i find lacking in a lot of modern games.
