A/N: Hello everyone and Iâm back with another oneshot of my Odysidon! This was a request/prompt given to me by my good friend @v0idsp3rson a long, long time ago that I have finally finished. Thank so much for the prompt and it was fun to write about once I finally got the time and motivation to finish it. I might post another oneshot today with one of my newer characters but Iâm not for sure, but I will try my best to do so. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the oneshot!

Relationship: Odysseus x Poseidon
Preview: After being away from each other and having to deal with a large amount of bullshit, Odysseus and Poseidon decided to take a break for the day and just hang out together after what felt like an eternity without one another by their side.
(This is just a lot of fluff I wrote about, so yeah. I hope you enjoy!)
Another campaign has passed, allowing Odysseus to come back to his olive tree bed and collapse onto it in exhaustion. It had been a rough couple of weeks, which just made Odysseus even happier to be home. With the anxiety of not being able to contact his son and comrades behind him and the warmth of home elapsing the warrior king in the sweet smells of lavender and citrus, he was at peace. The only problem was that the one man--or rather god--he wanted to be with was nowhere to be seen.
The king buried his face deeper into the sheets of their bed, smelling the lingering scent of sea salt on it that Poseidon left behind before the day they parted. âGods⌠why are we always doing this to ourselvesâŚ?â
âI wish I had an answer, my love,â a deep voice echoed from across the room, as soft feet padded up behind him.
A smile spread across Odysseusâs face, sighing happily as a warm, gigantic body laid on top of him. Scaly arms wrapped around his torso, as a soft purring filled the kingâs ears lovingly. Odysseus slowly turned in his husbandâs grasp, finally looking into his loverâs gorgeous blue eyes and his facial scar. âThere you are, my sea.â
âIâve missed you, my dearest king," Poseidon hummed, peppering kisses all over Odysseus's face. The god curled tightly around him, stopping his bombardment of kisses and opting to rest his forehead on top of his mortalâs.
Odysseus took the chance to admire his divine loverâs face, gently raising his hand to graze his finger tips across the battered skin. The scar, one given to him so so many years ago, was one made from Rhea. Odysseus soon learned that most of Poseidonâs blemishes were from the godâs mother, making his hatred for Titans grow more everyday. âHow did the meeting go?â
âI donât want to talk about itâŚâ The Sea God groaned, his sharp teeth going into a snarl for a solid minute. âIt was utter chaos like always.â
âSounds about right,â the king of Ithaca nodded. âIf it makes you feel any better, my campaign wasnât any better. Diomedes had to help me in stopping Agamemnon and Menelaus from getting into another one of their brotherly arguments, as well as trying to get Nestor to agree on some ideas he disliked.â
âWe deserve a breakâŚâ Poseidon deadpanned.
âAnd do what?â Odysseus questioned, raising a brow while still looking at Poseidon lovingly.
âI donât know. Maybe we could spend the day in bed together, or you could teach me how to garden better, or we could just go swimming.â Poseidon listened off wistfully.
Odysseus thought for a moment. âI guess we could go swimming. Itâs been too long since weâve swam together.â
Poseidon visibly lit up from those words, his shark tail thumping against the ground happily. âReally?â
âWhy not,â Just as the words left the kingâs mouth, Poseidon already had a spot picked out for them and how to get there. Within the next second, Odysseus was lifted off the bed and held tightly to Poseidonâs chest as the god purred shamelessly. âSidon! You brute, warn me before you do that!â
Poseidon laughed. âBut then Iâll never see your startled face if I warn you. You look so cute with your wide eyes and reddened face.â
âS-shut up!â Odysseus blurted out, his face getting hot as warmth creeped up his neck and over his cheeks.
Poseidon dove into the water first, feeling the sea swirling around his limbs and body happily, relieved its master was finally home. Poseidon hummed, using his tail to float on the oceanâs surface and turn to his lover.
Odysseus shivered as he walked into the waves, the waterâs coldness making his skin tickle and goosebumps cover his entire body. âGods, no wonder youâre cold all the time.â He gritted his teeth to stop them from shivering as well, as Poseidon giggled.
âItâs not too bad when you get used to it,â the god exclaimed, lending his hand out for Odysseus to grab. The king accepted the offer, letting the sea god pull him deeper into the water and soaking his robe. Poseidon began to glow softly, his eyes getting brighter first, followed by his fingertips and scars, as the warm grew warmer around them. âIs that better?â
âMuch better.â Odysseus smiled, kissing Poseidon softly on the lips. The calm was quickly replaced with shock, as Poseidon pulled Odysseus underwater, causing the king to gasp and hold his breath. He glared daggers at the god, but Poseidon didnât mind. Instead, he leaned in and kissed again like his mouth was a sacred temple; soft, tender and worshipping. Odysseusâs brain short-circuited, all his anger forgotten as he melted into his husbandâs touch.
Poseidon broke the kiss, with a smile, as the king of Ithaca soon figured out he could breathe underwater just fine. Odysseus shook his head, still glaring at his husband but without as much venom in his eyes. âYou donât have to be that theatrical with your powers, love.â
âCome on, youâre the drama queen between the two of us.â Poseidon shot back without hesitation.
Odysseus scoffed, opening his mouth to argue back before he felt the current around them change. It swirled around them, creating a sphere while glowing the same color as Poseidonâs eyes, and next thing the king knew--him and Poseidon was surrounded by beauty. The water was crystal clear, unable to hide the hippocampi and the schools of fish they were chasing. The seaweed around them looked more like giant vines, reaching toward Olympus almost naturally. The sand beneath their feet was golden in color, a mixture of divine power and Gaeaâs sacred soil. Odysseusâs jaw dropped the second they got there, while his eyes tried his best to not down everything he was seeing.
âStop,â Poseidon ordered softly, cupping his loverâs face to lock eyes again. âStop overanalyzing everything. Just feel, just stay here in this moment with me and feel your thoughts become weightless. Please.â
Odysseus stared wide eyed at him for a moment, then finally cracked a smile. âOf course, anything for you, my gorgeous sea.â
For hours, the two of them just swam in Poseidonâs realm like two tritons who were finally seeing all of the sea for the first time. Poseidon showed Odysseus everything, new sea creatures that ninety percent of the world have never set their eyes on, different sea flowers and planets lurking on the oceanâs floors while braiding a small bunch into the kingâs tangled hair, swimming over other smaller kingdoms Odysseus didnât even know where there, and so much more.Â
When they finally arrived back on the shores of Ithaca, the sun was kissing the horizon like it was singing the last part of a lullaby, as Artemisâs moon took its place as wielder of the sky for the next twelve hours. Both men were laughing, holding hands as the beachâs sand stuck to their feet. âThat was amazing, Sidon. Thank you.â Odysseus praised happily, a small smile tugging at his lips.
âTo see you smile like that, so free and lovingly, thatâs all the thanks I need, Ody.â Poseidon explained genuinely, pulling Odysseus in one more time to kiss him. And as the sun began to sink deeper into the darkness around it, it stayed long enough to cover the two lovers in warmth to end their perfect reunion.
