(ft his jungle hunter figure)
could a regular ol human fit in with a Yautja clan? I think so! Yautja value hunting and related things like trophy taking A LOT, but that doesn't mean all they do is hunt. someone has to make weapons and armor. someone has to find/produce/ship fuel for engines. someone has to build the ship to put the fuel into. shit they have full on palaces, someone had to build that, and someone has to clean it all! Yautja are much more often than not members of functioning societies with lots of structure, so i think they could see something a bit honorable in us just wanting to help like humans do.
finished Wolf sketch :D
wip Wolf sketch :D
Yautja faces are hard 2 draw
how to speak to a Yautja, a short conversational guide :D
first, identify yourself. make it obvious that you are not a threat so they don't engage in combat. look small, and say to them "(name) Chteek Chish."
congrats! you introduced yourself. now, be polite and ask what their name is. say "Chteekon Daw?" To be extra polite, respond to their name with "ekkoong ya'ei." (an honor knowing you/nice to meet you)
next, be friendly. get to know them their way! ask them "eh'waq* ta'on?" (how many have you killed?). they will most likely respond with "hohrr" (many) "chtaoos ngai" (not enough) or maybe even "soi" (too many)
it should be noted there are Yautja that understand some English. so hopefully with both brains combined, you can communicate well enough.
once you're done interacting, finish the conversation with "yidoq* nyai!!" (a thousand trophies, wishing them success with hunting)
in my irl jack harkness era. feeling great :D
this blog has been inactive for a while but trust me i am just as if not more involved in fandom than ever. thanks to predator badlands I was inspired to learn the spoken Yautja language two days ago. I can already hold a conversation.
You know why superman is punk rock? Because being punk rock is about refusing to do something just because it’s trendy. It’s about standing up for what you believe in and the people in your community even if it makes you look weird. And this superman movie was unapologetically punk rock. In a time where it is seen as more “realistic” and therefore somehow better to be dark and gritty and pessimistic, superman refuses to give in. The world might seem to be on fire, but the superman movie says screw you to the whole world and chooses to present a colorful and hopeful perspective that says that choosing kindness and integrity is always the best decision. It’s punk rock because in a world that feels to be falling further and further into darkness, superman refuses to give into the trend and instead emerges in all of its colorful optimistic glory.
In a world where empathy is no longer commonplace, kindness is the new punk rock. Thank you to everyone involved in this movie for reminding us that we don’t have to give into the darkness around us.
guess who my favorite spider is lol
