Brief summary:

Ari was born and raised in Gotham City. She works at Gotham City Axe Throwing where she learned to throw knives and such in her free time.

She lives in an apartment in Gotham and one night Red Hood accidentally breaks into her apartment thinking that it was one of his safehouses so she immediately just whacks him in the head HARD with a frying pan. They keep accidentally running into each other and find the other annoying but eventually they start getting feelings for each other (although they both try to deny it for a while).

One night, Jason shows up outside her window obviously hurt (“I didn’t know where else to go” ahh situation) so Ari helps him and after that things are awkward between them because they can’t keep pushing away their feelings for each other. They both snap and eventually start casually seeing each other then start dating.

A while later, their relationship hits a rough patch and they briefly separate. Jason doesn’t hear from Ari in a few days and starts to get worried. He goes to her apartment to find her missing. He finds out that she had been kidnapped and when he finally finds that she had been shot in the knee, point blank. So that’s how she eventually gets the cane she uses (which Jason insists have a hidden weapon/possibly a taser inside of it). Ari moves more towards getting information for Jason instead of actively fighting.

I do think that when Jason and Ari start getting more comfortable with each other, Jason’s always finding a reason to be close to her. Like resting his hand on her hip and reaching up for a coffee mug she can’t reach. Absentmindedly running his fingers through her hair while she lays next to him on her phone or while they watch tv. Letting his fingers linger just a little longer than necessary while he looks at a minor gash on her cheek after a fight. Not wanting to let her go when he finds her after she’d been shot because he doesn’t want to let go and have her slip away even though he was the one who broke things off with her just a week before she was taken. He can’t lose her, especially if he can’t even get the chance to apologize.
