More Arslan Senki character sketches by Sachiko Kamimura I wanted to point out:

Farangis got a crotch concealer from OVA II onwards. I really love her belt with the hip-plates.

the magician: dermatologists hate him. So does everybody else, though they don’t know that yet.

Sahm and Kharlan. Seeing them in their OVA designs, I don’t think anybody had thought of shipping them. But after reading the first novel, with the Arakawa redesigns and pixiv providing me with this comic, HMS Sahrlan is leaving the port.

I already said that Merlain’s eyes were precious and judging by this rough sketch, they really are supposed to be his charm point. I wonder if his novel description says anything particular about them?

I had to reblog this one, too! The rough design of Narsus is interesting, because one of the reference images I came across recently has him with the same style for his hair; it’s actually really long and the ponytail is there, just hanging further down his back (it looks like the same would be true of this image from the artbook). But yeah, it looks much better in his final design.

I’m also so curious about how he’s described in the novels! I love his face in the OVAs and also in Chisato Nakamura’s manga… I’ve seen Hiromu Arakawa’s design sketch for him and I’m going to be so excited when he makes his debut in the manga! I hope he’s in S2 of the anime. I assume he will be, I’m just not sure how they’re going to handle his introduction.
