praying for serenity; [ Marth/Lucina ]
The cold floor feels hard against my knees, I chose to go without most of my armor in casual attire for today. There hasn't been many signs of distress around the outrealms lately during our shifting patrols, so it seemed like just donning Falchion would be good enough for now.
My eyes close easily, but, even so with my eyelids shut, my eyes blink regularly as the darkness is all I can see. My hands are intertwined together in front of my chest as I look up upon the colorful remembrance of grace, my lord, my savoir, my ancestor.. Hero-King Marth.
I can feel my eyes opening slowly as soon as light comes into view, first I see the stone wall that keeps the church held up, as my eyes travel further, the window sill comes into view first, then follows along the stained glass window, portraying my ancestor in all his glory. Although we've defeated Validar, and the peace seems to be restored.. temporarily, I know it won't last. I should be happy that we're almost near the end, that our troubles are coming to a close, soon with Grima in our sights.. but..
I can feel my eyes starting to tear up as I gaze upon him, he was through much worse than we were, yet I.. feel so exhausted, so worn and tried. I want everything to be over already, but, it's not and it won't be until our final battle. Everything has been truly trying for us, we've gone through so much; yet, our ancestor has been through much worse. If only I knew how he had so much willpower, so much.. so much courage and bravery, determination.. I.. believe I would feel much more safe consoling him. But-- it does me no good to whine about my problems, I can not give up. Not now. The world isn't saved yet, and I MUST pull through until it is!
The lord wipes her eyes as she unlaces her hands, making sure there was no trace of tears nor withering hope in her eyes. She gazed up at the stained glass of her ancestor once more, muttering a few words under her breath. 'Please, give me hope.. my ancestor, give me the will to keep fighting'. She stood up and took a few deep breaths before her determination returned. The flames of determination shown in her eyes, will not be drenched until Grima was defeated.
Picking up the sheathed Falchion from the ground and belting it around her waist again, the princess took a final breath before turning around to leave, not expecting anyone else to walk in anytime soon.
