But what if a product was far superior to anything available in the current market. How would someone manage to get the word out without all that hard work and drive? Certainly there is a method to get it into the hands of those who matter if it truly is better.
Generally those who are willing to put in the work to create it are willing to do what it takes to get it out there, too. Or at least find someone who will help them do it. Time and effort have proven to be the best ways to win over customers, and that goes even for a superior product. Very rarely do things just happen but some people do get lucky.

Winter starts with a bang, but now Iâd just like some sun. [He shrugged with a smile sipping his on tea.] Itâs no problem really.Â
It canât come too soon. I know Iâm looking forward to being able to go outside without a dozen layers on. A lot of the creatures will be back out soon, too.

Heavens no. Iâd probably make up my own holiday for the fun of it, so far be it from me to argue with anyone doing the same. This year Iâm just protesting romance in general. Why arenât you celebrating?
I am sure it would be an excellent one at that. [He shrugged] Itâs never been my favorite, and what little I did have planned, I no longer have reason to follow through with.

Eh, Iâm impartial to it. I just like to see others smile right now. Itâs a nice change.Â
I think we could all use to smile more. It can be hard for some to see the good in the midst of all the bad lately.
â:five things my muse is good at
1. Writing. He has a gift for it, and he uses it. Thatâs all there is to it.2. Drawing. Itâs usually basic sketches of magical creatures or plants, but heâs had to design a fair amount of the cover art for The Quibbler himself. He has a muggle friend who has helped him with it, but once he has a start, itâs not half bad.3. Charms. Itâs a very useful form of magic, and excepting magical creaures which are hard to count, itâs what Xeno took best to. Household charms, assembling the Quibbler, summoning everything, he uses them frequently and more naturally than any other spells.4. Bringing people together. This isnât charisma or some gift with people. It is just a part of him. The Quibbler works because he has created a community of contributors behind it. The muggle community of his uncleâs has turned to him on a few occasions now. He doesnât see himself as a leader, and he isnât one. People donât rally behind him necessarily, but if he presents a legitimate idea, it often draws others.5. Running a business. Itâs another thing he'd never say, largely because thatâs not what The Quibbler  is to him. Thereâs no ignoring what he has created and all that he does for it. Finances, handling the Ministryâs attempts at meddling through Della, and advertising. Heâs worked hard to create this and he did it well.

None. Made up holidays are for the birds or businesses to increase their sales.
It is a real holiday. A muggle one that wizards adopted over the years, but a holiday all the same. Is that the only reason youâre against it?
â:five things my muse sucks at
1. Flying. Itâs just never come naturally to him.2. Vague social situations. If he knows the person or is comfortable in a group, it goes well enough, but itâs much harder with people who fall in between. Even strangers are easier. Itâs those who can be called acquaintances at most that he struggles with, always talking too much and entirely unable to read interest.3. Defense Against the Dark Arts. Offensive magic as a whole, really. Xeno isnât meant to fight or fight back, and he only did well in the class because he understood the theory. Practical uses were lost on him because he couldnât even find it in himself to go up against the supposedly âdarkâ creatures. Thereâd still be a boggart in the wardrobe in the attic if it wasnât for Clara.4. Taking the train. Itâs such a simple thing, but muggle or the few magical ones, Xeno just isnât good at it. He always ends up going the opposite direction he needs to and has to work to correct it which is why he avoids the form of transportation at all costs.5. Swimming. He can swim. He was taught how. With a bit of time, he could probably do it. Itâs a mental block more than anything, but despite knowing what heâs supposed to do, if thrown in a lake heâd probably come close to drowning because of a panic he canât seem to shake and an inability to make his body do what it needs to when not in a very controlled setting.6. COOKING. There is no hope for Xenophilius Lovegood behind a stove. Itâs really miraculous he hasnât killed anyone with one of his attempts yet.

[She lifted the bottle heâd suggested off the shelf fingering it.] How does a new product make its way onto a shelf anyway? I hardly notice them, but it doesnât happen that often. Youâre right though about others providing an inferior product, because people continue to purchase it.Â
Believe me, it isnât easy. You have to be pretty driven and eventually there will be a yes, well more of a âsureâ or a âguess it canât hurtâ, in all the nos. You have to admire the determination of people creating a new product like this. [He nodded] Iâd go as far as to say itâs harder to stop that than start something new.
â« - What creative or constructive method does your muse use to express themselves?
Writing. It seems like the obvious answer, but itâs true. There is more to it than just articles for The Quibbler, though. While that is an excellent outlet, it is also his job. He is diligent about keeping journals and working on the field guide his uncle started. Theyâre kept mostly to himself, but itâs good to write something for that purpose only.
Basic building projects. It started with a desperate need to move after his seventh year and an inability to afford a new place. What money he was left was going into starting The Quibbler, but a certain amount was set aside for fixing the house his uncle owned in Ottery St. Catchpole and making it his own. Though sloppy at first, heâs kept it up and has gotten better so the house is becoming more unique and homey rather than just patched together to be livable.
Nature. This is a harder one to explain because itâs similar to the building but a lot more idle. When hiking or spending time outdoors with his uncleâs community that Xeno has become a permanent part of, there is down time. To keep his hands busy, heâll build little houses of twigs or towers of rocks. His uncle called him fairy markings at first, and while he now knows thatâs not true, itâs something heâs kept up from his childhood just to do something.

[she nods as a formality] Thank you.
[looks back at her once before nodding to himself and wandering deeper into the shop]
⟠- If your muse could change one thing about themselves, what would it be?
âNothingâ feels like a cop out answer, but if presented with the option, itâs what Xeno would say. It isnât the typical âI wouldnât change anything because I would not be who I am today without my pastâ reasoning either. He has reached a point where he is genuinely happy with his life and has truly accepted everything about himself. He knows how to appreciate it, and he doesnât want to change not because of some philosophical big picture thinking but because of that peace. It has taken him a long time to get to a place where he doesnât harbor some secret desire to change something, but he is definitely there now. The independence of graduating, the distance from his uncleâs death, the confidence that has come with The Quibbler, his relationship with Clara and just the passing of time have all contributed to getting him there. He still has his insecurities and doubts, but there is next to no desire to change.

Thank you, Xeno. I would never figure it out on my own.
Iâm sure that isnât true. You are just as qualified as some of the carpenters I have met. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Perhaps you can. [she lets out a sigh, knowing she shouldnât have snapped, but also not feeling bad enough to apologize]
[gives her a curious look] Has it been a particularly long day?

OR hereâs an idea. We can pretend that this isnât even a holiday and eat sweets for no other reason than it is a Thursday.Â
[He looked over at her, smiling] That sounds like an excellent plan. What better reason is there?

No, I canât say I have any grand Valentineâs Day plans. Yours will just have to be more elaborate to make up for it.
