I don’t reckon it was deceit (he stood nothing to gain from that situation after all) so much as just Roman being rather unsubtly fake - he was being overly nice to Virgil in a bid to get his poster off him. Though it *would* explain why Deceit!Patton using “friendo” might have been part of the reason Virgil caught on before anyone else: when Deceit tried to be Patton he not only picked the wrong term of endearment but he landed on the one that actually a mark of insincerity (Deceit is actually super bad at impersonating other Sides when it comes down to it) which Virgil is probably the most recently (and maybe most often) familiar with.
