"Mm. I suppose we'll see then," Henri mused. "I've yet to claim a slave in my previous stays." He was picky in that regard and slaves were expensive. Not that he couldn't afford the prices here in Krovs, but Henri wasn't about to waste his money on a whim. He liked being strategic in his larger purchases. He glanced over at Mordecai as they entered the hall of master suites. "Are you planning on claiming a slave given you once were one?"

"Really? You must be a lot pickier than some of the others, then. Not a single one caught your attention before?" That was interesting. Mordecai had to wonder what it would take to get Henri to claim someone since he very much doubted the issue was money. To stay in a place like Krovs, you had to have plenty of money at your disposal. He frowned a little at the question, combing a hand through his hair. "Maybe? Though I think it would feel a little too strange to do it. I guess I might if I get close enough to someone in the Undercroft or it's an old friend."

Leo's brows shot up in surprise. It was hard to forget the face or voice of Mordecai Davies, whom he'd shared a fate down here in the Undercroft with years prior. That was the last thing he'd expected, especially since the man he'd knew as a human seemingly hadn't aged a day. His eyes fell to the man's neck, noting the lack of collar, and a conclusion formed in his mind.

"Obviously I'm here on vacation," he deadpanned, a crooked smirk forming on his lips a second later. "And what are you doing here, Mordecai?"

Mordecai's face flushed a slight pink at the deadpanned response, the vampire's laugh clearly an embarrassed one. "I realized how incredibly stupid that sounded after I said it. I'm so sorry." He'd really thought that Leo had gotten away from Krovs when his master had left and was more than disappointed to see him back. It would figure that the man would return him to Krovs instead of just letting him go. He cleared hsi throat, forcing himself back to the present. "Ah...well, I actually...I actually am on vacation. It's absolutely not the first place that I would have picked, but Everett is here."

"I'm not really fond of being a slave, sucks not having any autonomy doesn't it? Guess you're just going to have to deal with it, Deke." Miles smiled from where he sat. "Aperol Spritz, Mojito, just a bottle of good tequila. Whatever you have, sweetheart"

Mordecai opened his mouth to say something and then stopped, realizing that he really couldn't argue with that. Still, that didn't stop him from giving Miles a slight look before stepping out of the room and into the kitchen. It was a good thing he'd requested to have alcohol on hand before arriving, grabbing himself a drink and a mojito for Miles and stepped back toward the couch. He pressed it into the older man's hand, dropping into one of the chairs. "So should I just guess that you want to spend the next few hours drinking or is there something else you'd like to do?" Mordecai didn't really care, he'd understand completely if the man wanted to get drunk.

Solomon looks at them bemused he can't always help himself when it comes to being a menace to others around him. It always brought him a level of amusement at the sake of the other persons patience. Some had more than others, those that had little were too much fun to poke at. No one was immune to his tricks, to him they were all the same those more stuck up were far more entertaining. "Hey, don't get mad, it's just a joke! It's okay to laugh a little sometimes." He says with a pretentious laugh, "You are real cute when you get all huffy like that. Your face even gets all red like bet if I cut a little on your cheek you'd squirt some." That had him wondering if that were true, if those that had such red faces had blood all within their cheeks.

"Ah. Well, uh..." Mordecai wasn't even mad, not really, he just hadn't been entirely sure what to make of what Solomon had said to him. The vampire blinked for a second at the other master, his brow furrowed, before he gave a slight laugh that didn't sound entirely genuine. "Well. I don't know if I've ever been told that I'm 'cute when I get all huffy' before. Thank you?"

It'd been a few years but Leo knew the routine as he arrived. Physical check, collar on, powers off, and down to the Undercroft. He hated that he was back down here. He hated even more that it wasn't his first time. He'd arrived full of fire and spite near a decade ago and learned quick achieving freedom wouldn't be an easy task. He'd been bought by a master who'd taken a liking to him that didn't last, hence his return now. Quieter, more neutral, but that fire still burned within.

"God, this place hasn't changed a bit," he said out loud as he gazed around the Undercroft. The faces were different, but the walls were the same. "You'd think with all that money they make off us the Council would splurge for some better renovations," he muttered, mostly to himself.

As much as he loathed spending any kind of time in the Undercroft, Mordecai tried to pay brief visits down there when he heard about new 'stock'. The word still made him grimace, absolutely detesting it, even though he was aware most of his species viewed the slaves to be just that. The vampire walked slowly down the stairs, giving a small nod to one of the guards just as he reached the bottom and was about to continue on when a familiar voice caught his attention. It had been awhile and Mordecai blinked in surprise, lifting his head to stare for just a second at the other man. "Leo? What are you doing here?" He asked, feeling stupid seconds after the question had left his mouth.

if he had to guess, arnon assumed at least a week had passed since he was dragged back kicking and snarling into the undercroft. the hunters that had captured him had spared no malice, ensuring he was handed over bloodied and beaten, his abilities nullified and his pride reduced to mere tatters. he’d gathered what little energy had remained to make himself as much of a nuisance as possible in the first few days, his defiant streak burning bright even if it resulted in harsh punishment each and every time. with the previous night’s beating still aching through him and the suffocation of his accelerated healing thanks to the collar fastened around his neck, arnon laid dejectedly on his cot, his tired gaze fixed to the ceiling as he wallowed in self-pity and muted frustration. the sound of others going about their days around him was of little comfort. if anything, it renewed his irritation towards the circumstances. so many of them were trapped in the confines of the undercroft, the illusion of freedom only manifesting through the allotted hour of wandering or being summoned by one of the callous masters to demean and debase themselves for their pleasure. the injustice of it made arnon’s jaw clench in subdued anger, his desire to rid the world of the plague of the vampiric elite burning ever brighter the longer he dwelled on the thought. huffing, he forced himself to sit upright and caught the eye of another in the doorway, his misplaced irritation focusing solely on the innocent passer-by. “what? you need somethin’? keep it movin' if not.”

Mordecai absolutely hated ever visiting the Undercroft, the place holding more bad memories for him than good ones. Whenever he decided to rent a slave, he often did so through a guard, finding it much easier to just have them brought up to his suite. But the vampire had heard about some new arrivals and had made himself venture down to the Undercroft, shoving down his discomfort with some difficulty. It didn't take him long at all to focus on the slave sprawled out on his cot with signs of a very obvious beating and Mordecai frowned, about to approach him but coming up short at the snappish reply. He couldn't blame him for the anger. "Well, ah...I was going to offer to take you out of here for a bit. If anyone in the Undercroft needs time away from here, that's quite clearly you."

“I was, a few years ago,” Manny answered. “Eventually got purchased and was given a job as a guard.” He swallowed a good mouthful of his drink at that, choosing to stick to the short version. The long version wasn’t worth sharing right away. “It’s weird to work in a place that once was basically a prison. Must be weirder coming back on the complete opposite end of a slave.”

"I can only imagine. Is the master who purchased you still around?" Mordecai had been around long enough that he knew how often masters would come and go. One of the reasons that he'd been so relieved when Everett had taken him along when he'd left. "Very weird, though I'm relieved that I haven't run into any other slave that I knew from the time. Honestly, I probably wouldn't even be here if my sire wasn't."

Manny's brows shot up in surprise and he nearly choked on his drink. He recovered nicely. "No shit? I would not have guessed that. I mean..." Honestly, how could one tell someone had once been a slave? It's not like the castle permanently branded them. "Sorry you had to go through that. I know how shit it is." That was putting it lightly.

Mordecai offered a somewhat sheepish smile when Manny choked on his drink, realizing that probably hadn't been the best time to admit to that. Though there probably wasn't ever a 'best time' to say that he'd been a slave in Krovs before. "Yes. One of the many reasons it's very strange to be back here." He tilted his head, considering the guard briefly. "So you were a slave before then too?"

"Undecided," Henri answered with a shrug of his own. "Until I grow bored of these surroundings, I suppose. I can continue working here for as long as needed." He also didn't have anyone to go home to back in Paris or any other location. Henri didn't mind that.

"Hm. Well, from my experience, it might take you awhile to get bored of this place. It seems like masters always tend to stick around for awhile." He paused, considering, and then raised his shoulders in a small shrug. "Though I guess that entirely depends on whether or not you find a slave who can keep your attention."

It was Miles' turn to laugh. "Not everyone's here by accident." He smiled holding up the book. "thanks." He moved to fall into the seat next to the master putting his hands on the back of either side of the couch and his feet up on the coffee table. "So where's my drink Deke. Terrible at hospitality. Can see why you don't have any friends."

"Well, no. I guess not." Mordecai eyed Miles as the older man made himself right at home. He couldn't help but wrinkle his nose a little in response to that question. "I'm not entirely sure I'm fond that nickname..." The vampire muttered, shaking his head with a small sigh. "And what would you like to drink?"

Nick gave him a small grin and stood, stretching. "I could use some time to roam. I promise I won't be too much of a headache." Have him move to stand before the other man, hands behind his back. "Nick Whitlock. At your service. Well as much service as one can be in present circumstance."

"I'm not too worried. So far, you don't seem like the type to try and cause problems." Though Mordecai knew that looks could be very deceiving. The vampire offered a smile and then gestured for Nick to follow along after him. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Nick, I'm Mordecai. Is there anything specific that you'd like to do while you're out of here?"

Oh how he enjoyed the way Mordecai reacted to the touches he gave to him. How he had missed his eagerness in his time within the castle, away from his fledgling. He leaves kisses along his neck as his hands moved further under those clothes he still wore. Not for much longer if the lich had his way which he usually did between the two of them. "You're here now." He says as he pulls away from his neck to look down at him, "So show me how much you've missed me, Mordi." He hums as he begins to take the others shirt off. Wanting to see him entirely bare for him once again. He always had found him so beautiful, even more so when he wore less.

Mordecai's lips parted in a soft, happy sigh at the kisses trailed down along his neck, his own hands gliding underneath his sire's shirt. The younger master was sure that he wouldn't be wearing clothes for much longer since it seemed to be a very common thing whenever they were together. Not that the vampire was complaining of course. Mordecai chuckled softly, really only tolerating that nickname from Everett. He chucked his shirt to the side and then reluctantly stepped away from the other man to make quick work of the rest of his clothing, standing naked in front of Everett inn no time, a wide grin on the vampire's lips. "Where would you like me?" He asked, stepping closer to help tug off Everett's shirt as well.

Nick gave him a small grin and stood, stretching. "I could use some time to roam. I promise I won't be too much of a headache." Have him move to stand before the other man, hands behind his back. "Nick Whitlock. At your service. Well as much service as one can be in present circumstance."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Nick, despite the circumstances. My name is Mordecai." The vampire gave the slave a smile of his own and gestured for him to follow to the guard station. It didn't take long at all to get everything in order to rent Nick and then he was leading the other man up the stairs and out of the Undercroft. "We can do whatever you'd like for the next few hours. Get something to eat, something to drink, whatever."

"Ah, yes, sorry, Everett Caine, you mentioned, right?" Manny said, snapping his fingers a few times out of habit when he recalled a memory. He grinned lopsidedly. "Nothing says vacation like the warm weather and stunning views of the isolated mountains in Russia, right?" he quipped and then got a little more serious again. "You've been here at Krovs before then?"

"I did, yeah." Mordecai laughed softly at Manny snapping his fingers and then made a face. "Better vacation spots I could think of, really, but I guess the view isn't too horrible." He nodded a little at the question, taking a sip of his drink. "It wasn't in the role of a master, though. I was a slave the last time I was in this place."

".... no I suppose the guards are trying to leave as little to the imagination as possible for someone to decide to snack on me here and there." He murmured. "Well, gaze away good sir. For the low low price of... whatever a slave chases for a rental you can even have one of your own for the night. I don't do moonlight walks, I don't do begging or pleading, but I make a very good old fashioned."

Mordecai's lips twitched into a small smile as he looked back at the other man, feeling less awkward about it now that he'd been given permission for it. "I'm not sure how much you would cost, but I'm sure it's pretty expensive." With the man not being human, he was definitely further up there on the list, he was sure. "Well, lucky for me that I don't need someone to beg me." He offered him a slight grin. "Would you be interested in getting out of here for a few hours?"

"It would be odd for a master to come to Krovs and not participate in the main aspect of what this castle was built around," Henri agreed as they turned a corner, getting closer to the master's suites. "How long are you planning on sticking around for?"

The vampire shrugged a little, not responding right away as he thought it over. "A few months, maybe. Though I guess that could change, depending on whether or not I decide to claim someone eventually." Though Mordecai wasn't sure that would happen since he wasn't entirely comfortable with the thought of owning someone. "What about you?"

The bell in his shop rang and Eirik hardly looked up. "If you're here to make a request, there's a form on the counter. If not, feel free to look around. Careful with the charms, they truly work and I would hate for you to not know what you're touching." He murmured as he jotted down some notes while looking through one of his archives. When he finally did look up to see someone standing there, he nodded. "Unless you need me personally?"

With work related things taken care of and no interest in renting a slave for the day, Mordecai had decided to spend some time in the town. It wasn't something he'd done often back when he'd been a slave and he was curious if there was anything new from the last time he'd been there. The vampire had wandered into a charm shop and stopped in the doorway, glancing around before his focus turned to the man behind the counter. "Oh, no. I was just curious, really, I thought I might just take a look around and see if anything catches my eye."
