other people have articulated this better but I think a lot about what Kaidan went through as a kid and how he could've easily ended up bitter and jaded and whatever else as result but he's not.

hes so patient and kind and considerate and compassionate. most missions his comments are about how the situation must've affected the people there. he's always thinking of others. he is so genuinely good and honest like it's never occurred to him to be anything but.
