We create drawings and paintings from the infinite land of familiar beasts. Under the Black Sun they reflect their mysterious intelligence, their dark divinity, and their Selfhood. Familiar beasts are like Demons, patrons of the liberal arts. Their wisdom and craftiness comes with millenia of study and practice. They hold secret knowledge and they would share with you. Each one teaches us something different. They are all governed by their own set of rules, morality, music, and literature. Their presence is omnipresent, though often ignored in the outer-world.

We strive to follow our desires; to become our own creature of resistance, independence, and wisdom - to learn what the wicked ones offer with their dark insight.

The gesture of the blessing hand shapes the letters IC XC, an abbreviation for the Greek words Jesus (IHCOYC) Christ (XPICTOC) which includes the first and last letter of each word. The Orator wears a satanic pentagram, and spikes are thrust through the tongue. Those seeking knowledge from ancestors, demons, and spirits would pierce their tongue with thorns and bleed onto paper that would be ignited, the smoke revealing secrets and wisdom.

Rosie came to us when we needed her most, and held us up. At that time, we were struggling with malnutrition. We have been in recovery for about a year and are doing much better. Bunnies for the others, and Atlas on the mountain.

I made this in adobe fresco because I love the pencil tool. I have done dozens of pieces with just the pencil tool (and all white on black). It works well, and I am resistant to change. However, mixing colors with oil painting brushes is a delightful visual stim.

You are not called cringe because you're fake! You're called cringe because you're real!

I have a confession to make. We're fakers.

When we're in public, we fake like we're a singlet. I fake when I front and remain silent when I'm called someone else's name. When I pretend it doesn't hurt me every time I'm misgendered. We fake when we omit details about our inner lives when talking to the few singlets we do trust enough to share with because we're afraid they will mock or judge us.

We fake and pretend all the time.

If you're reading this, there's a good chance that you're fakers like us.

You lie and pretend and omit and mask. And that's okay. You know that being out to the wrong people can destroy relationships. It can get you fired from your job. It can make you a pariah. You lie and pretend out of love for your system, to protect yourselves and those you care about. And that is nothing to be ashamed of.

But remember that these are the moments when you're lying.

You are not called cringe when you pretend so you can conform and fit in. You are not called cringe when you mask as a singlet. You are not called cringe when you lie and invalidate yourselves to keep your secret.

You are called cringe when you are real.

You are called cringe because you are honest and true to yourselves.

You are called cringe because you are brave enough to take off the mask. Even if only in certain spaces.

You called cringe when you are proud of who you are.

You face hate because you love yourselves.

Do not fear being called cringe. Wear it as a badge of honor. They attack you because you represent something new, something they don't understand. Because you took a chance in being your real self instead of hiding who you are.

Remember that the actions that others call "cringe" today will pave the way to make the systems of tomorrow feel safe and secure in being who they are. By being brave and strong and real, by putting yourself out there and trusting, you are helping to secure a future where no system needs to fake or pretend ever again.
