Hive City appeared a bottomless pit of unanswered questions, and unexplored territory. This, at the best of times, branded itself infinitely inviting. And, at the worst, downright dangerous to peruse alleyways too narrow and lined with buildings far too rickety to even be given a proper name. These places Hiro frequented in the name of pennies hard-earned, and adventurous feats yet undertaken! However, these solo excursions could not manage to occupy all his daysâ no, for they rather paled in comparison to the merit of eves heâd thought long lost to him.
As the sun sunk on the horizon the brothers whiled away with ease the high noon rays of the sun during its slow descent across the sky. Though whether either took note was widely up for debate in lieu of the harsh beating one thought to unleash upon the other. So it was that Tadashiâs challenge was met with boundless determination, the ego the elder brother had just touched upon given form forthwith in the content of Hiroâs unabashed reply:
âYou think so, bro? Iâm not gonna go easy on you this time.â The younger met the challenge set forth with a lacing and consequential crack of his fingers; the machine poised before them thoroughly unprepared for the annihilation soon to be underway. Of course, Hiro had never particularly âgone easyâ on Tadashi, per-say (quite the other way around, in fact). But if confidence was half the battle, well, the Hamada brothers alone could easily have won the war against any and all opposition.
âPrepare to taste defeat at the hands of the legendary Ken Masters!â This most exuberant challenge initiated, hands prepped for battle fell to the controls, all but oblivious to his peripheral view of the throng of unidentified faces which flowed endlessly beyond the long pane of windows set to their side.
  Call him old fashioned, but picking the protagonist of the game was always a favorite of Tadashiâs. Sure, Ryu may not have been the most interesting character, but something about his will for action, his perseverance and dedication was admirable to the lad. Besides, it had always been like this: Tadashi picked the most strong-willed character, while Hiro leaned toward whoever looked the coolest (or â as the youngest Hamada phrased it â had the âsickestâ phrases).
Ryu vs Ken. Hamada vs Hamada. It had been so long since they played a game of Street Fighter together. This should be interesting!
âOh yeah? Youâre not gonna last very long, baby brother⊠Not against RyuâŠ!â And so with this challenge set, Player 1 set the stage clear with the press of a few buttons, initiating the battle between the brothers. The announcerâs voice brought forth the commencement of Round 1, followed by a short exclamation of âFIGHT!â
The eldest Hamadaâs fingers immediately set forth in their game, fingers vigorously (yet skillfully) at work at the buttons before him. Â However, had he stopped for a moment and simply glanced at his brother would he see the horrified expression on his face as the battle continued.
âHey, bonehead! Youâre losing! Arenât you going to get moving?â Silence. âHiroâŠ?â
