not generally a fan of james cordon but he’s spot on with everything he’s said. football is a working class game that has slowly been drained of its values and its ethos due to greedy billionaire owners that only care about lining their pockets further. never mind the working class people that built these football clubs, that have supported these football clubs through good and bad, that often scrimp and save so that they can afford to buy season tickets, and football shirts, and subscriptions to watch their team throughout the pandemic. if this super league goes ahead football as we know and love it has gone. finished off through pure and simple greed. gone are the multi generational fans that travel hours up and down the country to sing their hearts out in the stands, all to be replaced by ‘fans’ that use matches as photo opportunities, and don’t know what the offside rule is, and switch teams like they do their pants. but hey, who cares, as long as these billionaire owners can buy another yacht, right?
