I wish I grew up to be a beautiful little fool sometimes

I always loved when daisy in the great gatsby said she wanted to have a daughter and she wanted her daughter to grow up to be a fool, because thats the best thing a girl can grow up to be in this world is a beautiful little fool. She understood that people who know a lot have been through a lot and being a fool meant being naive and privy to all the hurt and deception in the world. Being blind to all the evil and thinking that people are basically good. A fool does not have depth to share and does not go searching for meaning. A fool accepts what is in front of them and is simply happy with a shallow ignorant existence, which seems sad and half-lived to most but they live in a bubble and in that bubble they live by what they know and all they know is what they are told. A fool can love at the surface while a person of depth must dive into another’s soul and experience them to fall in love which usually ends in pain when you discover another’s flaws and insecurities and they see yours as well. I don’t know which I would rather be because I cannot really answer the ageless question: is ignorance really bliss?
