What if the Truman show did a queerbait arc but then they found out Truman was gay for real and had to recalibrate and their tv network would have to take a definitive stance on homosexuality, yay or nay in the late 90s and it's not like they can recast Truman. They would have to either plot him into an it's okay to be gay fake happy relationship like they did with his tv wife or try and scare him off homosexuality by doing homophobic gay misery storylines at him to try and keep him firmly in the closet.

The moment in Inevitable from TGWDLM where they turn Emma around and start singing Showstopping Number, where she finally knows it isn't Paul, because that's the first song she knows he wasn't there to hear, the moment where she screams bloody murder, shaking and beyond horrified and scared for her life and my god the implications gives me this weird awful torn between laughing and sobbing feeling in my chest. My face like. Visibly contorts and my chest tightens but its between a cry and a laugh, because it is played for the audience but also the very human, real terror that Lauren Lopez portrays has me immediately wanting to sob. Watching that song specifically always has me in such a confused state of emotion where my body glitches out because it can't decide what to do. I love Starkid. Excellent work.
