50,000 notes
You guys sure do trans truck
putting the trans in transportation
Kids bop voice: two trucks hanging out. Two trucks hanging out. It makes me. it makes me Involuntarily shout
i can’t believe that there are people who think that being trans is a choice
i hate being trans.
i hate that i didn’t get to grow up male.
i hate being misgendered.
i hate being called by my dead name.
i hate all the doctors appointments and having to get surgery.
and most of all,
i hate that i’ll never be cis
this still gets notes so i thought i’d update nearly 3.5 years later.
i no longer hate being trans. it can be frustrating at times but these days i truly see myself in the mirror.
i’m more than 3.5 years on testosterone now and i switched to gel about half a year ago. ive been legally zephyr and male for 3 years now.
i had top surgery 2.5 years ago and revisions 3 months ago. my hysterectomy is scheduled for less than 4 months from now!!
i’m occasionally misgendered but now that we can take masks off in my region i don’t get misgendered with my whole face showing.
i love my trans self and i hope anyone who related to my original post has also found their peace and self love.
did you know that a side effect of the covid vaccine is a heavier period?
guess who found that out by getting gettysburged yesterday?
like for real. the worst day of menstruation of my life. for people who know their menstrual cycle and haven’t gotten a vaccine yet, book it around your cycle if at all possible omg.
we already talked about what this second shot is doing to me today jabes, but i also just realized that it lines up almost exactly with how my period came along after the first shot last month too. 🙃
getting the little itty-bitty taste of immune reaction and Other from the vaccine makes me so fucking glad that i didn’t actually catch covid
kind of frighteningly realizing that in about a day of going around tumblr, this post may have gotten nearly as much self reported data on menstrual reactions to covid vaccine as U of I survey cited in the above link. I doubt this addition will reach as many peeople, but I urge you report your reactions to the U of I survey! Or to the cdc’s v-safe app!
but a quick and dirty summary of the tags and comments i’ve been reading ardently??
aside from people being like ‘thnx for the heads up’, the most common category of anecdote i’ve seen is people being like ‘oh THATS why my period was heavy/early/unusally crampy’ upon reflection.
like there seems to be a fair mix of people saying 1) well my bleeding was regular but i had monster cramps 2) i had a huge abnormal gush of bleeding, and 3) my period was normal as i experience them but came early right after i got the covid shot.
the 2nd commonest group of comments is a little scarier bc it’s from people on IUDs or other devices that suppress menstruation saying they hadn’t had periods for extended time (several years i saw mentioned specifically) but experienced spotting, cramps, or a full period when they had not expected it at all.
also a few people who ddid not get the vaccine, but tested positive for covid and report having heavier periods. (at least one person said all of theirs since since getting covid have been heavier than before.)
but i’ve also seen a small portion of responses specifically saying they had unusually light periods during or immediately after their covid vaccine shot.
bc like as a reminder, this is reported to be a side effect, not a guarantee. it certainly affected me, but i’d say my exacerbated menstrual reaction was limited to about 24 hours of very intense bleeding and cramps, before my flow turned back to what i would normally expect.
and i assume there are people who had periods near or around their vaccine who didn’t comment or notice bc nothing changed for them.
so like, please don’t let this deter you from getting a vaccine! the most alarming part for me was being caught completely unawares. but the more people hear about this potential side effect, the more you can be prepared adequately. literally gird your loins, take extra tylenol (which they recommend for the “normal” vaccine side effects anyway), and heating pad it up as much as you are able.
the day after i got the vaccine i developed UTI symptoms for just one day and started my period the same day. i’m trans and on t and my period came early when i was supposed to stop getting it this month
i got the johnson and johnson btw

How to seduce a designer
“No notes, thank you.” in the performance report.
I said what I said
theatre people as john mulaney quotes
Actors: You have the moral backbone of a chocolate eclair.
Director: In terms of, like, instant relief, canceling plans is like heroin.
Sound techs: The more you do stuff, the better you get at dealing with how you still fail at it a lot of the time.
Light techs: No one knows what you're talking about, you idiot!
Stage manager: You ever have those days where something happens and you're like... whatever, this may as well happen?
Assistant stage manager: I like when things are crazy. Something good comes out of exhaustion.
Stage crew: I am very small, and I have no money. You can imagine the kind of stress I'm under.
Set builders: This is an on-fire garbage can. ...Could be a nursery.
Props department: Because it's the one thing you can't replace.
Costume department: Hi, I'm very gay, and I'd like a few dollars.
Makeup people: I don't look older. I just look worse.
Publicity team: You know how you lie to your parents?
Budget board: Eat ass, suck a dick, and sell drugs.
Audience: I'm really sorry about last night, it's just that I'm mean and loud.
