one minute he had his head in a bush, looking for the packaged sweet he bought from one of the stores he took no mind in memorizing. the next minute he found himself upright with a surprise which he welcomed with open arms.
a beetle’s pincers were sharp but dull enough to not break through connective tissue; however, if enough pressure is applied… who knows? the thought makes him squirm in place, wondering if he’d bleed or if it’d bring another round of pleasure. nonetheless, to feel it against the thin cartilage of his nose gave him a head-rush; pleasure evident on his features. lips curled up in a blissful smile ( not suited for this situation) as his cheeks were lightly dusted with the colour pink. his body reacted as it usually did, shaking with tremors of gratification from the sting resonating at his nose. it was reminiscent to the times he got piercings under his lips and along his ears.
body bending forward, ( almost ) all his senses were focused on the cheap thrill he found accidentally. fingers twitched, aching to rip off the beetle for another sickening reason or another– WAIT ! these feelings subsided when he felt a pair of eyes on his back, suddenly conscious but it’s not like he cared for an audience. however, he didn’t want someone to bring monotony to his life if they found out his eccentric activities. he’d rather keep living a life unhindered by others, years spent with his head bowed for his parents almost resurfaced, thus he gets ready to conjure another pleasing story.
a liar through and through with a knack of knowing what to say, he tries to temper down his outrageous grin– failed attempt. the vulgar buzz resonating from his nose was paramount compared to the facade. well it didn’t matter, his hands rose to cover the smile while the beetle’s legs skittered about against them.
turning around, his gaze meeting one that seemed cold and indifferent. it reminds him of a girl he once knew ( noriko, noriko, noriko – ah.. ) and there is a twinge in his heart but he buries it down immediately. instead distracting himself by initiating a conversation in this rather‘interesting’ situation. albeit his voice might be muffled from his hovering hands but it veils the amusing tone inching underneath his act.
‘ ouch.. oh, this hurts.. ! ’
not a lie, definitely not a lie.
an idea springs up like weeds in the barren garden of his debauched mind.
‘ care to help.. take this off ? ’
Stepping out of the store with the receipt crumbled in one hand and a plastic bag swinging in the other, the first thing she saw in the almost harsh sunlight... happened to be someone with their head in the bush. She stopped mid-step, eyes narrowed in a slight squint, watching whoever it was flail about in the branches.
Strange. What were they doing?
Wait, wait wait! No no no no no, she wasn’t staring. Ara was a well brought up lady and would never do such a rude thing, thank you very much!!
...alright, fine, she was staring.
As she watched, the figure in the bush eventually poked their head out with a scatter of leaves, revealing a young man with messy purple hair. He froze and--was he shaking? She frowned slightly-- maybe she should check if he was alright--
She had barely taken a step towards him when he turned around, hands cupped around his nose.
‘ ouch.. oh, this hurts.. ! Care to help.. take this off ? ’
Her eyes narrowed instinctively. His tone, his expression-- muffled as it was, something was... off. A pretense, perhaps? But whatever for? Her eyes wandered, searching his face, determined to find out what his true intention was.
That is, until her eyes fell on his hands, and the unmistakable, skittery legs of a--
Her eyes widened as her cold stare wavered, giving way to a faint expression of disgust and...fear.
Don’t scream, she told herself with rising panic, don’t shy away, don’t show any sense of disturbance! She won’t run, no, no. No matter how much she wanted to...her pride would come first and foremost...!
Its just a beetle, just a beetle, better than a cockroach, definitely better than a spider...
Even so-- Her fingers itched for her spear, umbrella, anything-- anything to impale or squash the leggy creepy crawly into oblivion--
Yes, killing the thing would resolve this situation perfectly...!
