Synopsis: Old Hyrule may be underwater, but that doesn’t mean that relics from the kingdom of the past can’t be dug up. Link, a young man that works with the Old Hyrule Expedition Group and attempts to retrieve lost artifacts from the seas around New Hyrule, unearths a mysterious mirror and unknowingly unlocks the path between two worlds. Now that New Hyrule is being threatened by an inhabitant of the Shadow World that is out for vengeance, Link has to accept his role as a hero and fix the mistake that he accidentally caused. At least he picks up a few allies along the way.

This story straight up sparks joy. It’s funny, there’s adventure, there are fun characters, and some juicy mysteries!
With just a few chapters out yet, we’re still at the beginning of the journey, but what a start! I love Link in this, he starts out so naive, and he’s the ultimate good hearted reckless hero with way more courage than wisdom.
The dynamic between him and his shadow self Dark are fantastic, and we’ve seen little of Zelda but she already stands out as a hands on princess.

Shadows of the past begins with a familiar feeling for those who've played several LoZ games: Link wakes up from a nap. He's a bit of a lazy bum, but he has his heart at the right place. His initial task is to retrieve historical artifacts from the sea that covers Old Hyrule.
He finds a mysterious mirror, and when he realizes it's a portal, he does the only logical thing: he goes right through. What could possibly go wrong, after all?
Well. How about just everything?
He accidentally sets off nothing less an usurpation and after seemingly losing Zelda to the usurpers, he's left to pick up the pieces. If he wants or not (and he does not).
His living shadow finds him and offers help, but is it smart to trust him after being tricked so harshly? Probably not, but sometimes options are limited, so he does anyway.
While there are only two chapters out at the moment, the beginning already promises a fast-paced adventure for everyone who likes games like Twilight Princess and A Link to the Past that dip their toes into the possibility of a dark counterpart to Hyrule. - ZeldaElmo
A unique set up as elements from Hyrule's past return in its new location and old alike. This quest looks to have Link and his Dark World counterpart traveling together, a twist that sure to lead to some interesting adventures as they cross New and Old Hyrule to save it once again. - amelias-hart
