Jokes aside, I'm back with another alternate universe for all of my whopping 12 followers (love y'all btw /gen). In this AU, Sun and Moon are the products of you trying to use a Youtube video on how to manifest characters into real-life out of curiosity. As the saying goes, however: curiosity kills the cat (or makes the cat the object of affection between a duo of maybe-demons-maybe not. Such is the case for Y/N in these AUs.)
I might make a short fic of this someday, hopefully soon! It's something I brought up with @icedmetaltea in a past ask (thanks for letting me ramble to you btw LMAO), but I've actually been thinking about ways to expand on this AU further than just a "what-if" scenario. I also like dumbass Y/N so plus!

"Malicious Sun and Moon AU" (a.k.a you accidentally summon two possible demons in your house but at least they're cute)
You're an avid fan of unusual and unearthly concepts/things, but you wouldn't consider yourself an expert on the knowledge of summoning. Still, like a dumbie, you went with a strange Youtube tutorial you find and do a ritual out of sheer boredom. Like a dumbie.
At first, you didn't think it worked, but when you wake up the next day with two robots practically breathing down your neck, you silently rejoice and welcome Sun and moon into your home.
Tensions arise constantly, however, from the perpetual arguments between the two of them. you expected them to be more nicer to one another, considering you wanted to summon the unglitched versions of them.
Now that you think of it, both of them seem to already be massively possessive of you in their own ways, only getting worse by the day. You didn't mind their distinct differences in appearance from their canon counterparts at first, but as they become rapidly worrying in their behaviors.
The situation escalates as sun and moon want to always be by your side, soon insisting you stay at the home with them forever and always.
You begin to think you fucked up the spell.
P.S.! Sun's design is partially based off of @/glitchysquidd's inverted au! (Not tagging them directly because I don't want to be weird and suddenly show up in their notifs for no reason dhbjdjxn)
[Unrelated to the "story", but Sun and Moon are different heights since they're from different universes! Sun is 13 ft and 2 inches. Moon is 9 ft and 7 inches. Moon is a manlet.] Case in point, below!

Au where Y/N (reader) is kinda mess of a person and is a ghost hunter. They explore an abandoned daycare/school where Sun/Moon are. The two are demons or ghosts. Why would they be ghosts as they're robots who knows but hush (although the idea lightly leans towards more demon)
They follow and lightly torment you before kinda just attaching themselves to you (They've been stuck there for who knows how long with barely any interaction) and going home with you when you leave. They see the mess your place (and to an extent yourself) is and decide amongst the both of them they're just gonna adopt you pfft
Sun cleans up the place, Moon helps you sleep. Both still kinda mischievous, like to play harmless pranks, but ultimately caring. You assume it's yourself doing everything or imagining things as your sleep schedule was so poor you basically kinda stumbled through life. Barely conscious ya know? As such the two grow bolder and you realize quickly what you're dealing with and call for an exorcist to get rid of them.
They come and are kinda welcomed until the boys realize why they're there and quickly become aggressive. How dare they try to get them away from you? You're theirs. It escalates to you being locked in your room, the door refusing to budge (ones holding it) as the other attacks the exorcist until they flee.
They'll keep doing that until, they hope, you realize you're theirs and accept the situation. While all you can do is search for a way to get rid of them. But it might be a bit too late for that...

What if Faz co. didn't run a megaplex, but a summer camp? They've built state-of-the-art animatronics that work alongside human counsellors to make camp a safe and fun place for any kid to attend during the summer holidays.
Monty is the lake lifeguard and swimming coach
Chica teaches dance and cooking
Roxy oversees sports and camp competitions
Freddy takes kids out on nature hikes and is in charge of general camper wellbeing.
There used to be two more animatronics, Sunnydrop and Moondrop. But after a massive fire started at the old campsite and wiped out great swathes of the area, they were left behind...
They were thought destroyed...
Now the counsellors tell stories around the campfire, of enormous creatures that stalk between the trees at night in search of wayward campers who aren't snuggled up tight in their beds after lights-out.
Y/n has just started their first summer working at the Faz Fun Summer Camp, and they're in for a surprise when they find out what's been watching them from the tree line...
I'm thinking that because Sunny and Moon were never rescued from the old camp, their AI was never updated to say that the new camp is their place of work. They can't/won't abandon the old place and still live in hope that someone will want to stay. If campers won't come to them, they'll just have to go and find some themselves...
Great, now I'm thinking about siren au where reader is a siren that HATES humans after managing to escape being basically tortured for months by William and Vanny. They even managed to somehow permanently remove reader from being able to enchant people by song. The reader can understand human speech, but still can't speak much of it. They were extremely wary of another ship they pass by, only to discover it's not humans on it which grabbed their interest. They stuck around, which made sun, moon, and the others wary.
Later on, the reader understands they CANT be submerged in water, or it's death for the strange things they still don't fully understand. But they DO remember it's an opposing ship to the ones who hurt the reader.
A fight with another ship later happens, and sun or moon get flung overboard. Reader uses their body to make sure they don't fully submerge, even though it hurt severely when sun or moon end up falling onto them.
Only after that they trust reader, and help them, starting to really like the reader as well as time goes on, and they still stick around by the ship.
They end up later on finding out why reader never sang, and reader gets to have revenge when the ship of vanny and william get sunk.
They get to drown the two, but get severely injured from those two not going down without a fight, yet again being helped by sun and moon mostly. The duo catch you by a net and bring you on the ship, bringing fears back.
But the pain never comes. You do end up in the same room with them though. "Just so they can keep an eye on your safety" is their excuse.
Can't decide whether this would be yandere or not. Can probably go either way honestly.
Kinda have another idea swirling my brain. A camping au of some sort with you, Sun, and moon. The duo are separate and have special batteries that last an incredibly long time, especially if they go into rest mode.
Upon a certain night, some kid forgot to properly take care of their food and store it, attracting bears. They destroyed some of the tents, but it's impossible to call the parents at said location.
No one except moon knowing he was behind it, not taking care of it like he should have. He wanted to risk everything for maybe having to share a tent with you and Sun. He knows sun would be extremely against it, even though they both greatly like the idea.
The one they shared was one of the few destroyed.
After that, you had to group the kids up for tents the next nights.
The two not hesitating for a second when you ask if it's okay for you three to share a tent. The only problem is yours is only a 2 person one. To you, it's awkward how squished up they have to be with you, meanwhile they're absolutely loving it.
So, lately, I’ve been thinking of how Sun and Moon will look like in the Ruins DLC next year, and the art of potential designs I’ve been seeing was getting my own gears turning. So, after a bit of time and work, here’s a bit of an explanation for my new, hopefully-somewhat-original AU design of Shattered Sun and Molten Moon! It’s pretty long though so I’ll put the explanation and standalone pictures under the read more!
After the events of Security Breach’s true-ending (the one with Peepaw Willy actually in it), the animatronics infected with the Afton Virus are finally freed! Bad news is, the mall is completely ruined and basically unsalvageable in the eyes of Fazbear Entertainment. They take stuff that’s only of value to them, and to the robot’s dismay, they’re seen as too expensive to fix and left to rot in what remains of the PizzaPlex.
All of them took it hard, but Sun and Moon arguably took it the worst. Even though they were mainly seen as weirdos by the staff and nightmare-fuel by the children they watched over, they were incredibly sociable and didn’t take extended non-contact from people well. While they were both the most hopeful that someone will come back for them (Moon cracking just a tad before Sun, though), after seven months since the mall’s closing, they realized the full extent of their situation and broke down completely. Since then, they locked themselves in the Daycare, Moon doing his best to comfort Sun but, sometimes in the middle of the night during their charging times, Sun could hear how his other-half softly weeped. It didn’t help that Roxy, Monty, and Chica still didn’t like them that much…or at all, and poor DJMM wasn’t able to make it through the fire, getting crushed by rubble. All the two had were themselves. That was, until a year later
You (Y/N) are a big fan of exploring abandoned sites, and consider yourself a well-experienced urban explorer. With a backpack full of snacks, water, and other equipment, you set off secretly to the PizzaPlex in hopes of making a video searching around the place for your channel. (sorry you’re a Youtuber in this AU. If it helps you feel any better you got a bronze play button you can hit people with) While you were just expecting to find some random shit strewn about, what you absolutely DID NOT anticipate was falling straight into the Daycare from an upper floor to find Sun and Moon, looking incredulous at your arrival before breaking out into hysterical joy for finally seeing another person. At first, you played along with their games since, while they were fucking creepy as hell when you three first met, they were endearing and you were curious. But as the overnight stay became another day at the mall, and another night, you began to realize something was up with them.
Thanks to the isolation and loneliness they experienced, both Sun and Moon refuse to let you go. While they wouldn’t go far as to kill others in jealousy or hurt you on purpose, they had become downright yanderes with how possessive they are over you and their obsession driving them more and more crazy. Despite the other animatronics being fine, the two insisted that they were still bloodthirsty monsters and could kill you, even when you knew that that wasn’t the case at all. Rations that aren’t spoiled, still left in the kitchen, are starting to run low, and you ate/drank the rest of your snacks and water a bit ago. You were beginning to starve, but since they themselves can’t leave the mall thanks to how they recharge, Sun and Moon beg you to just stay and they’ll figure out everything. You aren’t taking their shit anymore, and run off to free yourself from the Plex. But Sun and Moon are smart; they already blocked the normal exits like doors and windows, even some holes in the ceiling, but what they didn’t expect was how resourceful you are. Now, it’s up to you to get yourself out of the mall by your lonesome, since Sun and Moon were surprisingly stronger than the other animatronics and dispatched them easily, or allow the mall to be your grave.
Uuuh that sounded like a video-game summary LMAO anyways, here’s some other tidbits too!
Sun and Moon got the most banged-up treatment from the fire in this AU. First, Moon was in-charge hopping around and trying to find a way out. Suddenly, the floor underneath him broke, causing him to fall right into a sharp piece of metal, and since the heat was already making his body melt, it cut right through his right leg and it split up right around the area beneath his knee joint. While he was trying to climb back up and out of the firepit, his arms were starting to split as well thanks to the overwhelming temperature. His left arm disconnected itself way up into his forearm, while his right thankfully only got up near his elbow joint. The final blow was when Moon finally got out and was attempting to escape out of a hole in the ceiling, but a fiery beam came crashing straight into the middle of his faceplate. It obviously cracked and left some of his endoskeleton exposed, allowing the fire to make him look almost two-headed. The rest is just the remains of his endoskeleton, barely covered up in a bit of paint but mainly in debris and dust.
(I’m going to give credit to @icedmetaltea for this idea because it’s legit awesome and i like it a lot /gen) Sun and Moon moving sounds like the Wheelers from the Return of Oz, with their horrible scraping noise thanks to the lack of silicone the two have now on their bodies. Their voice is also a bit messed-up, sometimes pitching down-and-up randomly but still sounding like dear Kellen most of the time lol.
Sun and Moon now have a noticeable limp, but they can still move fast and agile as hell.
The hole in the middle of their head is supposed to look somewhat akin to an eye! Originally, I was going to have their eye (right for Sun and left for Moon) be extended into one large eye, but any time I tried to make it work, it just looked goofy lmao. It should be noted though that Sun’s and Moon’s eyeballs melted away, leaving the small light of their pupils left.
Their wrist ribbons are slimmer because the fire destroyed a majority of the fabric on them too. They still have their bells somehow, though!
I’d love to hear people’s thoughts on this AU of mine, and I’d also love to hear your ideas on what you think Sun and Moon will look like in the DLC. This AU might become incredibly outdated, but I just like me some angst LOL Hope ya’ll like it!

Have an epic idea. A very advanced smarthouse and daycare involving separate sun and moon with bodies that are still physical. They can connect to the house and change anything to keep kids safe if needed. The faz industry always keeps a human staff living there to make sure things stay smooth and to ease people who don't trust the care of just sun and moon. It takes a massive turn when later down the road they start treating you very strangely, and never allowing you to leave. Your contacts no longer can send messages and you can't even reach out to anyone online. Anything sent for help is blocked. They always dote an overbearing amount on you. One, or usually even both ALWAYS being by your side, and they even often get overbearingly cuddly after the daycare is closed for the day.
They'll back off and let you shower/bathe alone at least, but only by no physical contact.
Moon being a very powerful security as well, and you've found questionable red spots a couple of times before they were fully cleaned by someone coming to thoroughly deep clean it.
The company not really caring, and Moon even having the allowed protocol to hunt you down after something like a doctor's appointment. You think you're free, but nope! There's moon already waiting by the entrance to bring you back.
