Request for @varian2637 (who I think is @varian4567)
The request was to place Varian in a black rock cage while he was surrounded by snakes. However, my incompetence has caused me to add an extra layer of evil to it. Poor Varian. 😓Maybe I'll be nice to him in the next picture I post of him, but my upcoming requests don't include him. I might draw him again if I feel like it. The Chinese comics still call to me and although I am building enough vocabulary to read the novels I bought, I still have a long way to go before understanding written Chinese.
I shall consult the Pokémon Gods to see if I should work Chinese into my Tangled art.
And now that I think about Pokémon, this was a missed opportunity to surround him with Ekans, Arbok, the sand snake types in Galar, and whatever other snake types I could find. 😭
---
Also, I'm not taking requests. I'm still dealing with a backlog and some more Chinese books I halfway understand. I need to study more Chinese so I can work my way up to reading the novels I bought in Taiwan.
Lots of thoughts recently. Everything feels plastic.
I could go on and on about why all that AI "art" is bad. I could mention theft, lack of creativity, it's impact on the work field and environment, but countless people have already said all that. I wanted to touch on something that to me is the most utterly wrong about all of it.
Art is more than just something pretty to look at or listen to. It's therapeutic. It's a form of communication. A tool for human connection. It's a pure, human need.
Support real artists ☀️
I drew and used AI Prompts before and I have to say that I immensely prefer my own work. I haven't purposefully used my art to communicate, but now the world knows about my three or four favorite ships. Oops.
With AI, I don't get the fun process of singing, seeing my ideas come to life, or sticking random things in the background just to be doing it when I'm running AI prompts. Plus, when I use my art to decorate my phone backgrounds, my keyboards, and profile pics on social media, I feel great because I've created my own designs. I don't care if the Windows backgrounds look great, if Pixiv artists make prettier art or if the images generated by AI look better than my pictures. My possessions won't feel like mine until I decorate it myself.
I don't feel hatred for AI, but it just doesn't do it for me during process creation. I can't look at AI and say who prompted what the same way I can identify signature artist styles.
It does annoy me that AI is being automatically added to my apps though. I didn't ask for it. I don't need it pushed on me.
If a person has difficulty speaking a second language and deciphering the speech of some native speakers are they monolingual or bilingual?
Monolingual
Bilingual
Edit: Difficulty deciphering as in if the learner were to see it written, they'd mostly know what the sentence means, but doesn't understand the same sentence when spoken quickly or with background noise.
And for difficulty speaking, they can express common needs and tell stories in a second language, but has to work around not knowing a few nouns and verbs, using the wrong false cognates, and having to write down what they want to say to form a sentence that makes reasonable sense to a native speaker.
This is so me.
This is my life
"there's better ways to cope..." all the other coping mechanisms I used and actually "helped" me were harmful, and taking walks and showers aren't coping mechanisms Sharon! ◞ ⊹ 𓂃
Perhaps so, but drawing is far more affordable (I don't have to pay a monthly subscription on Clip Studio Paint)

There's a way to remove it~
Go into the power shell
then paste in:
reg add HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsCopilot /v "TurnOffWindowsCopilot" /t REG_DWORD /f /d 1
like this
Then restart. Also here is how to turn off the awful search suggestions:
Stop the OS from pulling up web results when you just want files and apps.
incase anyone didnt know there's some great free software to handle disabling windows bloatware without needing to mess with the command line
With the freeware O&O ShutUp10++, unwanted Windows 10 and 11 features can be disabled and the transfer of sensitive personal data onto Micro
O&O AppBuster gives you the control back over your Windows again! Now you decide which apps you want on your computer.
these are a mandatory part of every windows install for me. been using them for years and it's such a lifesaver
Because this has mostly been talked about with Windows 11, heads-up that this installed itself on every Windows 10 computer in our house with this week's update.
Request for @varian2637 (who I think is @varian4567) Fairly certain I did it incorrectly because they simply wanted Varian to be hiding from a serial killer who is dragging an arm. Since they never specified whose arm, I was the jerk that made it Varian's arm. And then I picked Cassandra because she's a girl and girls are easier to draw. What can I say? I'm lazy.
Now to work on other requests.
Without looking it up, in how many languages can you say 'Thank you'?

I post again cuz I've got nothing better to do. This was inspired by a conversation I had on Instagram, buuuuut nobody asked me to draw this. I just enjoy making Ash dress in a Nurse Uniform.

My problem as an artist. 😅
My viewers don't know the half of it. Not only do I reveal little about the characters that I post online, I reveal little about the world they inhabit. I wouldn't even blame my viewers if they didn't even know that I have an OC and an FC that I actively use in AI chat sites. I also mostly use my OCs for school assignments when we're coming up with scenarios.
Guys please reply to this with what your url means or references I’m really curious
Yang Xia- One of the many Chinese names that my coworkers have given me. I use it just because it hardly sounds like my given name.
de- (possessive article that works like 's)
Hua- Art/Painting
I am not very creative with naming and didn't have the patience to come up with a cool name. 😅 If I had to rename my blog, I'd probably reference some aspect of my job.
Boxing picture I did as a Story/Art trade. I drew a picture in return for a story. Aside from the requests in my backlog, I don't plan on doing too many requests because I can't stand looking at computers for long. If I do a request, it's because I have some interest in it.
Weibo article that dives into the origin of the trend and provides a perspective from the other side:
一块吐司,几片芝士,加上一些生菜或水果,一股“清心寡欲”风扑面而来。而这简单无味的搭配,正是一些外国人的正常午餐。
"A slice of bread, a piece of cheese, piece of raw vegetable or fruit: you're blasted by a cleansing gust of ascetic wind. This simple and flavorless pairing is actually the everyday lunch of some foreigners."
Image text: "White people food"
所谓的白人饭特点就是,“冷的“、”素的”、”分量少的“,基本上就是”花最少的功夫准备,仅仅能维系基本器官正常运作“的食物(require the least amount of effort to substain vital signs)。
"Chinese netizens have given this cuisine a name, '白人饭' (white people food). "The characteristics of so-called white people food are 'cold,' 'vegetarian,' 'small portions,' and truly 'requiring the least amount of effort to sustain vital signs' food."
"In other words, white people's food is the kind that doesn't involve cooking, with just one kind of seasoning, if not salt and pepper, then just the direct addition of mayonnaise or ketchup. "Originally, the concept of white people food started with Chinese netizens living overseas. It was because they used social media to expose their white coworkers' lunches — a few carrots and some raw spinach."
OP's tweet reads: "This is my coworker's lunch. A few carrots and some spinach. They already have the ability to produce their own energy without eating food."
Comment 1: "I think since they like suntanning so much, they must be using photosynthesis"
Comment 2: "They depend on therapists to keep them alive"
"Unknowing spectators may mistakenly think that these are freshly washed vegetables about to be chopped and cooked. While Chinese netizens, accustomed to 'lunch means a hot meal', view their white coworkers' lunches as unimaginable."
OP's tweet reads: "My Danish coworker brought something new again. No spinach today, just two carrots and a pepper. They're evolving."
Comment: "Why do they eat like they're putting gas in their cars. Pour it in to be able to go"
OP's tweet reads: "my coworkers lunch is a whole cauliflower! First time I've seen a whole cauliflower eaten with a knife and fork after being cooked. He was even surprised that I'd never seen that before. These people haven't lived"
OP's tweet reads: "The simplicity of Australian white people food. Everyone knows that Australian white people food is super simple, but when I saw my coworker's lunch I was still shocked. Mushrooms from the supermarket, straight from the box, added directly to a wrap. I asked him whether mushrooms can be eaten raw. He said he'd been eating them raw for years and was doing fine."
Comment: "Pretty normal. They even eat green beans raw. 20 years ago, the people at my bro's place even ate yuanxiao [glutinous rice dough dumplings] uncooked. Anyways, I feel like foreigners don't like eating food unless they're about to starve. If they could live on alcohol, they definitely wouldn't eat at all"
Image text: "Lunch: a head of raw lettuce wrapped around some ham with mustard drizzled on top"
OP's tweet reads: "I guess I've seen the pinnacle of white people food today. The locals always come up with new moves to surprise me"
"On the other hand, Chinese people living overseas only have to heat up in a normal lunch at the office to invoke the shock and awe of their foreign coworkers."
OP's tweet reads: "Re: about my lunch shocking my white coworkers. Everyone knows that white people don't have taste buds, they only eat to stay alive. "Coworker A: porridges. Oats + honey + milk + salt + microwave for 3 min. "Coworker B: some kind of canned rice + canned tuna, microwave for 2 min. "Coworker C: pita bread with dip; with a couple of cherry tomatoes/cucumber. "Coworker D: mini pizza: base + sauce + cheese, baked "I've been here for most of one year, these guys eat the same thing every day. But today was different, today everyone brought food, a boxed proper meal: pasta. But I'm the undefeated mystical Oriental lady, made a whole table [of food] appear in the blink of an eye."
"In China, the concept of a filling lunch is deeply ingrained in people's minds, as well as the habit of having a staple of rice or noodles etc. with every meal. But in Europe and the US, lunches are usually simple and light, and they don't have the custom of taking a siesta, so eating lightly helps maintain focus, prevent drowsiness, and save time. And so, these dietary differences have led to culture shock. "What's more interesting is, recently the phrase 'white people food' has spread to become a style of cuisine that everyone is imitating. Netizens have begun a deep dive into all different kinds of white people food. It's like a door has been opened into a new world."
OP's tweet reads: "After entering a state of 'eating to stay alive', I found out white people food is actually good. Ate the same thing every day and didn't puke. I just play on my phone a bit and the food is ready. It's sustenance, that's all."
Commenter: "After you give up on the pursuit of flavor, the world will open up to you. Cold vegetables + chicken breast are so good."
Following this trend going viral, "white people food" got spread to the foreign web. Foreign netizens' reactions were too funny. One user tweets:
"Not only were foreigners not offended, they've long since accepted the designation of "white people food", even going so far as to mock it themselves.
"After hearing about Chinese interest in white people food, white people didn't hesitate to offer instruction and started sharing recipes for authentic white people food."
This is exactly why I miss China and Taiwan. I hated my hometown's breakfast menu before I even set foot outside of the United States. I hate it to the point of waiting until lunch to eat breakfast.
In Taiwan, I had far more choices for breakfast, but I cannot name them because I cannot read Chinese. However, I was happy to be able to have a wider selection than chips, pancakes, hashbrowns, and egg-based breakfasts. I usually had hamburgers, bibimbaps, apple slices, tuna fish sandwich, or xiaolongbao (I think that's what they're called) for breakfast. Take me back to Taiwan.
Why don't American breakfast places serve flavorful breakfasts? 😭
