Long time lurker here

This will mostly just be a fan blog for yao guang from hsr (as you probably could have guessed) but I might post some other stuff! i use she/her pronouns but anything goes

fandoms i may or may not post about: hsr, genshin, zzz(i dont play), hi3(i played up to part 2 and quit unfortunately), tot(i quit because it was taking up too much space)

always feel free to message/ask me things i like talking to people, they dont have to specifically be related to what i post about either <3 during the period of time between an update and me getting to play it i will generally not use tumblr for fear of spoilers so that might be whats happening if i dont respond quickly

pls dont talk to me about leaks though thats not something i personally enjoy

another yao guang headcanon but i think she's good at math like Diabolically good. almost as good as at playing cards.

also don't you think her curse of chronoteleporting thing made her become extremely good at making excuses and apologising for being late? extremely good at lying? it's not "I could not get there at time because I can't control where I'm going to be any next moment" it's "i am the seer strategist and i am always in a hurry i am sooo busy/idc abt others/i always disappear when the dialogue gets too long or boring or my presence is needed somewhere else" and it's her. facade. her mask. i think about it and just chew on furniture. i don't want to call a grown ass woman my baby but i really want to.

yes. that lowkey sounds so in character like in the 4.0 quest i think she said like "oh i had to delay my steps" and things like that. also i feel like she acts as if she cares about people less than she actually does, ive said this before but like tingyun said she sent a bunch of people to their deaths and she brushed it off but theres no way being known as someone who did that isnt messing her up.

i always use cn voiceover in game and i prefer the cn trailers, but her en voice is pretty good and i dont mind the others :)

My crack theory is since it's posible they pushed Yao Guang early due to the China-Japan tensions earlier in the year that Yao's infodump is still stored in the version made for her. It may be just copium but god I need a drop of lore dump a la Feixiao for Yao Guang.

so something that makes me go insane thinking about yao guang is her divination abilities, tied so tightly to her anxiety. she's trying to predict everything, her predictions are not good, her job is to predict bad things, and when you try to predict everything, get prepared for everything... that causes anxiety. the worst thing? the price of her mistake are human lives. she can't just quit, chill out and say "nah, not my problem". she saw too much. yao guang's life is filled with this countless possibilities, countless "what if", it's trying to solve the problem before it even becomes real. she feels responsible for people, for a whole nation. and nobody says "ah thank you diviner general for predicting this catastrophe, we came prepared for it". people always say "ah, the bad thing did not happen, that means this diviner is useless" and "the bad thing happened anyway so diviner is useless". warriors become heroes, not the politician who tried to convince people to get prepared for something that the hero is going to be dealing two years in the future.

also i hate you hoyoverse for not setting up the limitations of her divination abilities. it's just unfair.

theres gotta be a reason why they havent dropped enough yao guang lore yet, there is no way on the earth that the fanghu battle was it. it wasnt it, theres surely more

yao guang is not allowed to join jade and kafka and whoever else i might be forgetting on the shelf of characters with the tiniest bit of their lore known to us

Oh the irony in the Stellaron Hunter with the most self-preservation being the formerly aggressively suicidal one..

Genuinely though. Blade has the most self-preservation outta all of them.

Firefly: I want to live! And yet WONT STOP THROWING HER LIFE AND SAFETY TO THE WIND.

Silver Wolf: I want to survive. And then she neglects her need for food (cough, traumatized little shit) and canonically is willing to throw her life away for the sake of the Hunters.

Kafka is a mix of reckless and too trusting in the scripts, we see it in the games start where she doesnt make any attempt to even acknowledge the enemy coming right at her bc she knows Silver Wolf should be there. (Also the woman is lowk depressed as hell.)

Trailblazer considers the lives of their companions above their own, and will very willingly throw themselves in the way of harm for their companions.

How the fuck is mr ‘god just let me fucking die already’ the only one without that. Like dudes reckless in a fight but thats because he’s unfortunately well aware he cant actually kick it.

It lowk makes sense though. I mean Blade was the only one who had an actual life before the Stellaron Hunters. He’s the only one whose life held meaning before the Hunters.

Everyone else, their life had no meaning. Live or die it made no difference.

my crack theory is that yao guang will be the ninth supplicant. she already mentioned to sunday that if she wore a mask then she would become the "nous of planarcadia", meaning she could create a fixed outcome that asat pramad won't be able to manipulate and directly counter his abilities. also, all of the other masks are themed after animals so she'd fit right in with a peacock mask. if evanescia can create a mask for trailblazer, then i don't see why she couldn't create one for yao guang too.

again this is just a crack theory so don't take it too seriously :p

this is a great crack theory but idk if its a good theory lmaoo but like a fic with this idea would go hard. also i support this because i really really want to know what her mask would look like if she had one god it would be so pretty
