//note: I'm aware that these takes I'm indirectly referring to are all valid opinions n rly do think it's interesting cause i thought Mairuma fans were as chill as my main fandom fans www it kinda give me a lil whiplash
So far i see Mairuma twt rly do be saying that every character in Mairuma is INTERESTING and i agree, no doubt. Btw, that's a HUGE achievement, Nishi rly got that in her bag fr but YES THEY'RE SOO CURRENTLY UNDERDEVELOPED that's the biggest flaw i also see.
I think most ppl kinda forgor this is a manga series? These r handrawn n also written by each and every panel ofc it gonna take that long to progress 😭 n yeah we're lucky if we even get even a semblance of the supporting cast lore atp. If this were gacha games it would progress a faster character focus and development arc trust me... Just remember the media it's on and expect by the realistically speaking; could it be possible to like, idk... Make all that demands come true in this span of time in that type of media.
+++ This is where i compare things, you can skip it cause i do think it's kinda glazing my main interest;
(*) I can easily compare Mairuma w A3! Cause the theme is similar enough, and so the release date, they're both released in 2017 (almost 10 years since then) just diff by few months and u see A3! Almost in year 5(?), Mairuma is still stuck in year 2 DO U EXPECT TO KNOW EVERYTHING N EVERYONE IN 2 YEARS... Yeah we're still in year 2 guys, imagine urself in ur 2nd year of middle school do u at that point already know everything abt ur classmates? Ofc not 😭 u just get a grasp of their characters... N going by Mairuma genre it is indeed a slice of life comedy...
A3! Or any gacha games rly have the benefits of their medias, they can use weekly events to dig down deeper their characters lore and so their world building settings etc etc... They also have extra lore in the gacha cards or events cards according to the characters you're adoring and yeah crumbs everywhere...
Like by going on the same release date as Mairuma, since A3! Is a gacha game going by that every 2 week main/side events and the characters cards benefit them a lot. There's like 24 main cast from diff ages and EVERYONE HAD INTERACTIONS W EACHOTHER ALREADY cause it's already year 5 ish for them and they all have solid dynamics with each other's (tbh since year 1 they're dynamically solid already just like Mirm) and even group dynamics aside the main 4 ones they're also very fun and not awkward at all, all their interaction is sooo natural for me.
Imagine Mairuma going w the same speed/pace by the manga media tho? Idt it all will end up as how lovely the Mairuma we currently got. I think this slow development for this type of manga is a good slow? Esp for Nishi cause i also can tell she does tryna figure how everything could align with the manga media she's using...
So yeah, realistically speaking, it rly all depends on what media we got the gems in guys we just had to #trust Nishi could save us... Maybe...
(*) Counter arg here to myself since I am also a TWST fan, they're technically still in year 1 but you alr know everything? Well actually, yeah, it's bcs that they're a gacha game, again, got benefits, u can see the chara focus in the cards for extra food, the main story progresses as is normally in the span of 1 year that way bcs it assumes that you read the cards as well for more content so they don't rly have to explain anything anymore for you in the main...
If Mairuma were to suddenly just made a non existent interaction behind the scenes without us even reading or seeing it, it defeats the point yk 😭😭😭 just suddenly say things like; oh yk at one point Kalego and Balam kiss or something w/o showing us the whole ass scene is kinda unsatisfactory, you also probably be like. "OK SHOW US HOW THEY TONGUE AND TANGO THEN???" ///freaky example
Love trio stuck in a worst possible outcome because they don't have a poly opt for relationships and Iruma just happened to be faster to confess to Clara leaving Azz heartbroken after they call him... A twink apparently... And um... He'd been depressed but he didn't lash out or anything he just sighed and corner himself out in the island which is rly RLY sad to see
