No im sick like im actually sick trick weekes you are sick in the head for this one bc its so innocuous but it is also both of their character thesis statements in two lines fuck off.

She just wants to help him build a better world but he can’t. He can’t see the forest through the trees he is so stuck in his guilt and regret that he cannot process or move on from in any constructive way that he just won’t let. Anyone. Help. Him.

“I have to be a martyr. It’s what I deserve.” NO! YOU! DON’T! There are people LINING UP out the door to give you lifelines and you take NONE of them because your brain is so unfathomably traumatized over this thing you’ve done that has effected arguably for the worse the lives of every single person who has ever lived that it is actively refusing to do anything but hit the reset button. It rejects any other solution because any other solution means that it’s real and he has to live with it.

He can’t bear to look at an orb that’s been glued back together because it reminds him that he is the reason it’s broken. So better to just throw it out and start over.

can you imagine how uncanny haven must’ve been for solas? that’s the inquisitor’s equivalent to the lighthouse.

haven isn’t a place of refuge for spirits, but nonetheless a sacred ground that served as a place of comfort being turned into a war camp must be haunting for solas. especially when that sacred ground is turned into a war camp because of his actions.

thinking about the factions and background choices for rook. i keep seeing people on reddit and other sites saying how we don’t have a choice in our rook’s personality and i’m just dumbfounded… what did you expect? varric tethras recruits your character did you expect to be a venatori sympathizer? as critical as i might personally be of bioware i am so happy with the way they handled backgrounds for this game. a grey warden who defies direct orders to save a village is not the same as an antivan crow who took out an antaam patrol to prove themselves. a foundling adopted into a military family in tevinter is not the same as an infant found by undead and raised by necromancers in nevarra.

bioware definitely has an idea for a character in mind like they did with hawke, and i’m personally excited for that. that might be an unpopular opinion in the fandom, but i think expectations need to be tempered. i’m not saying the evil choices in origins are something you shouldn’t allow players to experience, but more-so that the choices you do have in your game should make narrative sense. let’s be honest the evil choices in origins are cruel for the sake of it. they don’t do much for the narrative and make your warden out to be cartoon levels of evil. i know that’s something people enjoy, but for the sake of story and immersion it wouldn’t make sense for this game.
