W-what was wrong with this guy!?

He'd backed away slightly as the other had gotten to close, so suddenly, his eyes wide as he tried to take in what was currently happening. What type of normal person would get closer to someone who claimed to be death!? And what type of normal person claimed to be familiar with death!? Was he perhaps making fun of him? It didn't seem that way...but may there was something that Ankou was missing here...

"Casper? Is...is that a person? I've never heard of such a name before", he coughed slightly, trying to regain control of the situation, but feeling suddenly as though he was in some type of danger. Perhaps not physical - just the type that would make all his work thus far be for nothing. Why'd he feel that way?

"Either way - your friend does not happen to be here. It's best you leave this land. Only the dead belong here"

Dez had been close enough.. she had seen the effects.. they were dead.. They were dead.. She was just standing there unable to move. Her fingers were grasping at her dress to try and focus on the material and bring her back with it.. To stop replaying the sounds of the explosions.. The death before her.. She could smell it.. She was sure that it would never leave her nose. Her lips parted as she made soft sounds and even when he approached she was standing and staring. Everyone was working around her as she just trembled and when the man approached her she could barely respond. "It was.. so loud.." She was very clearly in shock. "If I had been any closer.. Would I have died..?" Once again it was as if death chose to act right before her.. but she had been close enough it could have been her. "I.." She wanted to be more helpful. She wanted to process everything. What did she see beyond the sound of the explosion and the sight of their deaths? "..It was.. Horrible.. I.. How could someone.. do this..? How could someone.. just.. place a bomb..?" She wasn't very helpful and she knew that. Her legs gave a wobble before her knees soon slammed into the ground as she wasn't able to support herself any longer.

"Yes". He wasn't one to mince his words, an aspect of his character that could cause him to come across as rather blunt or cold, but he simply disliked the time and effort it took to try and soften things. To face reality was to live, and death was just the other side to that coin. That said, he was still rather surprised when she fell to her knees - somewhat unsure on what his next course of action should be. He dealt with the dead - and this woman was very much alive.

"I...", he paused as he tried to gather his thoughts, eventually kneeling by her side, pulling the blanket around her shoulders a little tighter. Of course, it wasn't that surprising that she'd go into shock even this long after the incident, especially if she'd stayed nearby watching as they rolled out the corpses...where was her friends? She needed somewhere warm, someplace to gather her thoughts.

A nervous laugh left her as she gave a nod of her head. "Although fingers crossed I do get hired at that maid cafe and will have a little income soon." Because her savings were dwindling after moving to an entirely different country after all. "But at the moment you're right.. I'm pretty free." Although for a second she allowed herself to daydream about working at the cafe and wearing a cute uniform and her face flushed more.. she was definitely happy about the thought. Tomorrow she would make sure to go ask if they were hiring and hope for the best. She was an incredibly hard worker after all. "Well I look forward to it!" She beamed. "Tomorrow I'll go check them out and see if they'll take me in." She giggled. At his question about the cherry blossoms, she blushed more but smiled as she nodded and went and stood under it. She turned to face him with a shy smile, those doe-eyes warm his way. "Is this okay? Do you want me.. to pose a certain way at all? I want your picture to be beautiful.." She spoke quietly.

He couldn't help but to smile, watching the different shades of pink that would heat her skin in such a pretty way. Of course, it wasn't wise for him to be attaching himself to her life as much as he was, but what was the harm in taking a few pictures? Maybe he'd stop by the cafe later on his way home, see if he could put in a few favourable words about her to the Manager - by now, he knew more or less what that man was looking for whenever he took on new staff, and Ukyo was certain that Dez fit the bill. That's all it was - just making sure that the right pieces fell into the right places, that's all.

He was silent for a few seconds, simply taking in the scene as she paused under the bloomed trees, a soft breeze catching some of the petals, causing a few to flutter on by her face as she asked him about posing. He smiled, a small shake of his head given as he raised his camera.

"Any picture with you as the subject is already beautiful", he explained, "Simply be your natural self. Show me what you want me to see".

𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐄𝐑  𝐏𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐎𝐌  𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐅  𝐇𝐀𝐃  𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍  𝐏𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐃  𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐎  𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐎𝐒.  however  ,  the  floor  he  currently  found  himself  in  seemed  far  different  to  any  he  had  ever  been  to.  even  when  he  was  first  𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠  mementos  with  his  companions, he  had  never  encountered  a  floor  that  felt  like  a  completely  different  world.

t'was  all  very  confusing  for  him  considering  there  had  been  no  one  that  posed  a  considerable  threat  like  his  prior  enemies  for  a  long  time  now.  taking  out  his  phone,  he  glanced  down  to  see  the  screen  display   that  his  current  location  was  still  inside  mementos.  a  frown  came  to  his  features  as  he  realized  the  gravity  of  the  situation.

he  closed  his  eyes  for  a  brief  moment  as  he  attempted  to  sort  everything  out  in  his  head.  eventually,  he  deduced  that  this  was  more  likely  the  work  of  a  very  strong  shadow   ──  one  that  was  capable  of  creating  a  real  life-like  environment  &  one  that  had  targeted  him  specifically.  hence,  𝐡𝐞  𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝  𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞  𝐭𝐨  𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭  𝐢𝐭  𝐭𝐨  𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞  𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.

turning  his  attention  back  to  his  phone,  he  attempted  to  send  a  message  to  one  of  his  former  friends.  unfortunately,  the  message  didn't  seem  to  go  through  as  it  normally  would.  this  meant  that  he  was  trapped  in  here  by  himself  without  a  means  to  contact  others  for  help.  he  sighed  as  it  seemed  his  situation  was  only  getting  worse  with  every  passing  second.

before  he  could  begin  to  think  of  a  strategy,  he  heard  yelling  followed  by  someone  shoving  him  to  the  side  as  a  flowerpot  smashed  into  pieces  where  he  had  been  standing  prior.  ❝  ah  [  ...  ]  ❞  that  was  all  that  left  his  lips  before  pushing  his  glasses  up  the  bridge  of  his  nose  seemingly  unfazed  that  he  could  have  met  his  end.

❝  i'm  fine.  thank  you.  ❞  dark  gray  orbs  landed  on  the  male  with green hair that  had  just  saved  his  life,  𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠  𝐢𝐭  𝐨𝐝𝐝  𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭  𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞  𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞  𝐰𝐚𝐬  𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞.  ❝  can  you  tell  me  where  i  am  ?  i  got  lost  &  was  trying  to  look  up  directions  on  my  phone  when  this  happened  [  ...  ]  ❞  a  lie  as  he  thought  it  best  to  feign  𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞  for  the  time  being.

Had this world decided to suddenly target another? Was he jumping to conclusions? It might have simply been a one off thing, an accident - as rare as those tended to be around him. Besides, with the different words Ukyo had now travelled between, he'd came to notice the majority of those around this area...this young man was someone new. Someone who didn't belong. His mind itched at the thought, but he pushed it back for now.

Lost, was it? Maybe he really was just a new student who'd yet to learn his way around the city - this place was filled with maze like back streets...should he try and give the benefit of the doubt? But what if this world was targeting this stranger? Should he even care? "Erm well, this is the commercial district...where are you trying to get to? I know this place rather well so I can guide you there".

If he was from here or even just a visitor, then surely he'd have a destination in mind, right? That was the only way he could think on currently to test out his growing theory.

Dez of course had no issues at all helping Toma home. Ever since that day he helped her out, even if she didn't give all that much in terms of information over what happened that day, she had felt quite close to him. She made sure to stop by and see him when she could so she was glad he trusted her enough to help him home. Toma had seemed like he was in a wretched state and she wanted to help him to the best of her ability. "Toma.. it's not a problem at all. You just need to rest and get better." She spoke as she let him lean on her to bring him home. She felt bad he still had to use any of his own strength given the fact that she wasn't that strong of an individual. "No Toma.. Don't worry about me." She spoke as she followed him over to the bed. She leaned over and soon tucked him in as she fluttered away to get a glass of water and a cool, damp cloth as she came back. Draping the cloth over his forehead, she put the glass of water on the nearby nightstand. "Do you have any medicine? Should I go get some for you?" She hated seeing him like this. "I'll... I'll take care of you today. Just rest.. Okay?"

Of course, someone as kind and gentle as Dez was, wasn't about to have any issue with helping another - but he felt so undeserving of such help. That, and he hated the way that he must currently look too. So pathetic...but that was just his pride speaking...and with how ill he was, it didn't seem as though his pride had much room to speak at the moment.

"Of course I'll worry about you", he muttered, frowning slightly as Dez helped him under the covers, his shivering body at once melting into the embrace of the warmth, "...I'm...". He fell quiet, laying down and being silent as he watched this girl flutter away across his small apartment. She looked so natural here - as though she'd always belonged here...was that strange to think?

"...you really don't have to fuss so much", he muttered softly, closing his eyes for a second as the damp, cool cloth was placed over his feverish head. Wow, when was the last time he'd felt this bad? Thinking, he guessed some medicine wouldn't be a bad idea, if only to help break this fever a little quicker. "Second door on the right is the bathroom. There should be some in the counter under the sink..."

One could have assumed that the room had been empty, what with the number of books that laid piled up around the room and scattered along the floor - but if you wandered far enough towards the back, you'd find a bundle of blankets, where Scien had been laying for who knows how long, an open book laying on his chest, as he fixed his gaze at the stranger towards the front of the room.

He leaned over her shoulder and lifted the coffee she'd just complained about, Toma taking a small sip, only for his face to quickly screw up as he resisted the urge to spit it straight back out again. What the heck! Who'd made this!? They'd mixed up the sugar with the salt! "Oh!", he gasped as he tried to avoid chocking, taking a second to regain his breathe, "Let me get you another one? Or would you like something different? I promise to personally see to it this time".
