I never realized how genius the way the Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days manga gave Roxas his keyblades. Roxas gets the Oathkeeper keyblade after yelling out his promise about going to the beach with his friends when he’s fighting Saix.

Then, after Xion’s heartwrenching death…

…Roxas takes Xion’s keyblade and it becomes the Oblivion keyblade.

Given the meaning behind the names of these two keyblades and the events that occurred, it’s no wonder why Nomura chose these two keyblades for Roxas.

If I really, really wanted them to look like two different people, completely, my thinking is- why not just push things to be even more ridiculous. Roxas can keep the blond hair and the flat bangs because platinum blonde + olive skin = peak aesthetic, 

Meanwhile Ven needs green hair. If Aqua’s gonna have blue hair why not just go all the way and give him green hair. Wind isn’t yellow. It’s green.
