Ways porn harms everyone:
Children
it’s inevitable for a child in this culture to be exposed to porn at a very young age; exposing children to pornographic material is child abuse
a child exposed to porn will not be able to develop healthy sexuality, porn instead will shape their sex life expectations and goals (for girls, this means young acceptance of inevitable abuse and pain during sex)
a child, especially male child exposed to porn has a high chance of sexually abusing another child (because children follow examples they see adults do! and this is filmed sexual abuse, they are likely to repeat it)
child on child sexual abuse is getting widespread and boys as young as kindergarten age are raping little girls they have access to, porn is a direct cause of this
also children sexually abused will proceed to sexually abuse other children, creating entire culture of childhood sexual abuse
porn normalizes skinny, hairless, young-looking female bodies that resemble female children, making it very likely that children are seen as ideal sexual targets
porn increases the amount of child rape, rather than satisfying rapists it gives them stronger and more self-righteous urges, after all they’ve already seen someone do it on tape, it doesn’t feel quite as forbidden or wrong or unreachable after that
children are and will get trafficked into porn industry, and have their lives turned into slavery and filmed rape for profit of porn production
Women
are pressured to put up a performance and center their sexual life around catering to men (like porn does), without being able to develop their own sexuality based on their own needs
are assumed to enjoy in degrading, humiliating, painful and dehumanizing acts that porn depicts as “normal female sexuality”
are expected to act as if they enjoy the said acts and if they don’t, it’s assumed something is wrong with them
are socially and emotionally pressured into believing they’re “not good enough” unless their body comfors to the beauty standards reinforced by porn
are often shamed and coerced into changing their body on daily basis to conform to pornified version of women, or even on permanent basis (getting a surgery to fit their boy to porn standards because not doing so is risking humiliation and emotional abuse, and feeling not good enough)
have their sexuality taken away from them
are shamed for asserting their own needs
are much more easily coerced into sexual acts they wouldn’t otherwise do, since now they’re so normalized and expected of them
have to live while knowing that men commonly watch female bodies being abused, brutalized and raped, have to live among these men anyway
are dehumanized and objectified on daily basis by the effect porn has on men
women of the groups that should not, and absolutely do not want be seen as sexual are now degraded to a porn fantasy: nuns, lesbians, schoolgirls, professional women, etc
most men will look at these women and not see any further than a porn fantasy
Women involved in porn production
are exposed to rape and abuse, without any way to prove they’ve been raped or abused, even though it’s all filmed and distributed
are coerced into acts against their will commonly and as a part of their job
have their money withheld from them and are forced into doing more and more damaging and humiliating work if they still want to be paid
are getting trafficked into porn industry
are often the victims of childhood sexual abuse
are at high risk of ptsd
are at high risk of std’s, injuries, internal injuries, hospitalizations, unwanted pregnancies, life-long chronic conditions and even worse untreatable damage of their bodies
have to deal with severe emotional and psychological damage of being degraded, humiliated, insulted, physically harmed and sexually abused
aren’t allowed to resist the abuse and instead have to force themselves to play along
have to deal with dehumanization both by the porn industry and society
have to rely on alcohol, drugs and addictions to be able to cope and keep working in the industry
often do not have any other choices but to be there
by most majority, they don’t want to be there
have higher mortality rates and suicide rates than women not involved in porn industry
Men
have their sexuality shaped by porn, and are incapable of having a healthy sexual life
are at risk of addiction and losing control over their life
decreased pleasure during sex; inability to enjoy sex
General
decreased empathy towards women; if a woman is expressing pain and distress it’s assumed she is experiencing pleasure or deserves the pain and that she shouldn’t be helped
normalized ignorance of female boundaries and intentional neglect of her discomfort and dissent (it’s very visible watching porn that the actresses are in pain and all of their reactions are merely an act and very much forced; everyone watching it is supposed to ignore it and assume that she’s fine and isn’t actually getting hurt, despite the clear signs of pain)
increased amount of rape/rape culture on the rise to the point where it’s normalized
normalization of bdsm culture, teens and children willingly entering a dangerous and traumatizing sexual experiences without having proper information of the psychological injuries they will suffer afterwards
normalization of pedophiles/pedophile culture on the rise
gay males dehumanized and sexualized; connected with bdsm culture and depicted as a fetish, assumed to enjoy humiliation and pain and abuse, and commonly depicted as masochists/sadists subs/doms
trans women viewed as a sexual fetish and dehumanized/objectified in the process; also trafficked and coerced into porn production
promotes racism and white supremacy, promotes severe abuse against women of different cultures, mostly perpetuated by whites
promotes male supremacy and patriarchy
Men involved in porn production
.
.
… these are the guys who actually profit from all the points numbered above. they get to abuse women. they get to take all of their rage and violence on women who can’t defend themselves. they get to damage women’s bodies to the point where the victims are hospitalized and they get away with it. they get to profit from that. they profit from women and children getting raped, injured and psychologically traumatized. let’s end these guys. let’s end porn production.
One Giant Leap for Mankind
Millions of people around the globe will come together for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games later this month to witness a grand event—the culmination of years of training and preparation.
Fifty-five years ago this July, the world was watching as a different history-changing event was unfolding: the Apollo 11 mission was landing humans on the surface of another world for the first time. An estimated 650 million people watched on TV as Neil Armstrong reached the bottom of the ladder of the lunar module on July 20, 1969, and spoke the words, “That’s one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind.”
While the quest to land astronauts on the Moon was born from the space race with the Soviet Union during the Cold War, this moment was an achievement for the whole of humanity. To mark the world-embracing nature of the Moon landing, several tokens of world peace were left on the Moon during the astronauts’ moonwalk.
