If we can acknowledge that sexual assault is different than any other form of assault so much so that it requires its own name(rape), then we must understand that sex is different from any other action in society. This concept has to extend to jobs too meaning that sex work is inherently different from any other profession. This is the basis from which all anti porn and sex work arguments must stem.

You’re so right about small businesses ong. Medium/large companies are no saints but small business are so venerated and get so many concessions cause it’s just a “family business” “mom and pop store” whatever like fuck your family dawg treat your employees like human beings.

They’re extra stingy because they see every dollar that doesn’t go to their pockets as a loss for them rather than an improvement for their employees quality of life e.g. better work environment and higher pay. My country’s government is in the middle of repealing so much health and safety law to “reduce red tape” for small businesses 🙄

Yeah I don’t want to make it seem like I HATE small businesses but I fear small business owners in the USA actively avoid investing in their workers because they’re not required to by law. In the USA at least companies with 95+ employees are required to provide health insurance to full-time workers. My old boss at the tennis club forced me to choose between taking a higher salary but no health insurance, or a lower salary with health insurance. I was the full-time MANAGER like that is EVIL and a horrible way to treat people.

Also small business owners in the USA literally voted Trump in because he actively passes laws against worker’s rights. Every small business I’ve worked for is owned by Trump-supporting men.

I hate working for a small business. There’s no HR so the owners and bosses and attorneys just bully the women suboordinates. Normally it’s typical uncreative misogynistic l racist comments. Today one of the owners raised his hand at my coworker and made a motion like he was going to hit her. As a “joke.” I said something about it to her privately after the fact. I’m scared to confront these men. I started drinking every day because of these men. I’m looking for a new job. In the meantime I’m trying not to be scared.
