Where do you attend University? Do they have a good program/Hillel for practicing Jews? I'm going to college (NYU) in the fall and I just want to get an idea of what being Jewish on campus is like.

I go to University of Michigan and we got all sorts of stuff going on for Jews. Hillel, Chabad, JRC, Jewish Engineers Association. I'd look up NYU specifics though

If your great grandfather left Judaism & your family only recently discovered from distant relatives that he was jewish and that your paternal family had always been jewish, is it ok to "rediscover" the jewish identity & culture? Is it appropriation?
