ftr i am willing to write loki at any point in the timeline, but i also have an AU version (that’s mostly my main one) that did his time in asgardian prison then went off on his own and nothing after that happened. no the dark world. no ragnarok. he ran far away from asgard to live his life in various places across the universe. so he can be the variant, or a variant, or anything of any sort.

headcanon: loki is not in love with sylvie. are there feelings there? yes. at this point in time though he’s just interpreting them as romantic bc it’s been so long since he’s had friends. if he sat down and actually considered it these feelings may not feel any different than how he does for mobius, but as he’s kind of running around like a chicken with his head cut off there’s just been no time. no forced therapy. what he does know is that he has particularly strong feelings of some sort for both mobius and sylvie and he’s interpreted them in very specific ways. everything’s just a clusterfuck and he’s not even sure he’ll see them again.

there’s just pain that he’s finally found two people important to him, and they’ve been ripped away and that fucking hurts.

edit: it’s so very possible (per tom) that loki’s actually NEVER HAD FRIENDS which is why he’s so confused by all of his feelings right now which is more heartbreaking.
