I’m from...
I am from toys
From Disney and Pixar
I am from the apartments with playgrounds
Tight and loud inside, escape outside with neighborhood kids
It always sounded like distant arguing from inside
I am from the playground where we escaped yelling
The tower we sounded yelling out with laughter
The strong high tower where we could always escape our loud lives
I’m from the fake 10:30am to 12:30pm Sundays
And the only time we were civil mom would say
From Kay and Jennifer
I’m from a faith filled christian
And a shameful, drug addicted, alcoholic
From mom, “You’ll never amount!”
From Grams, “I love you and so does Jesus!”
I’m from Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, born a Littrell
Sunday lunch of soups and Salads with Grams after service
From mom and aunt drunk fist fighting at 3am
Grams was always to my rescue
I am from God.
God made me who I am today through all the trials
God brought me to it and through it, I am ME!
