On November 30, 2015, a gun man of the name Robert Lewis Dear shot up a Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs. He is antiabortion but why he really shot up the place is not figured out. If he wanted to be antiabortion that is okay to have your opinion. Shooting up a place does not help your point be made. Innocent lives perished just because of someone's belief. If you were so against Planned Parenthood than he should of ether had a petition signed or a peaceful protest. To start off, I do not believe that what he did was right. Many people see Planned Parenthood as just an abortion clinic. They do not know that it also provides other health services that are very useful to teens and young adults. My stance on this issue is that everybody should have the right to do what they want. Personally, I do not like abortion. I don't think that a child should be gone just because the parents were careless but than again there are certain scenarios that I would agree with. If a women gets pregnant and just wants to get rid of it just because, I wouldn't agree. I say adoption would be better since the child has a chance at life but you can give another person a chance of being a parent when they couldn't be. But, lets say, a women gets raped and gets pregnant with a child. I feel like if she wants to get rid of the baby, than that would be based on her decision. I mean, who would like to see their rapist's eyes in their child? It would be very had to go through that. Imagine having to tell your child that your dad is not going to be around but that the only reason why they are here is because you were raped. I don't think that is something that anyone wants to go through. But I believe that whatever stance is, you should leave people to live their own lives and decisions because you never know the full story or what they are going through.

My first dorming experience. When I first decided to go away for college I was scared and excited at the same time. My mom and I talked about everything I had to do and my sister gave me a lot of advice since she recently just graduated college. The one thing we never really discussed was dorming, I didn’t think much about it or cared. I’ve shared a room with my older sister my whole life until she left for college, and when she did I felt like part of me was gone. So I thought to myself if I’ve shared a room with my sister my whole life I could do it for another four years without a problem. What I fail to realize and really think through was it wasn’t going to be my sister anymore, it was going to be this random person that I don’t even know. Now that actually sacred me, I hardly know this person and I have to be able to live with them in this small room and trust them with all my stuff basically. So I moved in, and not only did I have one other roommate but it so happen that there were too many students accepted and we were put into TRIPLES. Now who in their right mind would think that is a good idea? Not only are we forced to live with someone we don’t know and have to get a long with for at least a year, now there’s two people we have to deal with. Just when I thought this couldn’t any worse I was handed one roommate who was very nice but the other roommate I would describe as…… THE ROOMATE FROM HELL. My second roommate was just offal, she hated everyone and everything and no matter what my first roommate and I did she just hated us. In other words it wasn’t a good experience but then she second semester she didn’t come back and decided to stay home. I guess you can say we got lucky but then we had another roommate which was messy, rude and had no filter. She drove me up the wall! She used my stuff without asking, ate my food without even asking and kept me up till two in the morning being loud as if she was the only one in the room. So I decided this year to live in a different building where I have my room, I’ve already had two roommates I don’t think I would’ve survived with another. You never know what to expect, I can say this wasn’t the best college experience I’ve had.

College is a big deal and rooming with a stranger is a bigger one! Getting along with people is usually a hit or miss. It is either you like them or you don't. Most of the time when we enter into such a big and new environment like college, it is easier to get along with people because everybody is trying to make friends and make a space as big as Buffalo State not seem so scary if they see a familiar face around. It is unfortunate that you had to go through a situation like that especially one that is your first experience. Just keep in mind that people carry things with them. (not literal) I mean that everyone comes into college carrying a different story behind them. So, just understand that maybe there is something wrong and they are holding it in. What ever the case, it shouldn't let you have a bad experience here at school.

This weeks topic is about whatever we want to talk about, and my rant for this week is about fake friends and fake people in general.. I know my last weeks topic was about friends and relationships, but this is about fake people in general, it could be friends, boyfriends/girlfriends and or even family. I may not be the most perfect person and I never said I was but I know how to be a real friend and not stab someone in the back and be fake to everyone, I know my fellow bloggers can at least relate to this a little. We all have those people In our lives that act sweet and kind to your face than as soon as they are with their other “group” of friends you are automatically the “bad” person, and your friend will talk down about you to them, but when you are with them they will talk bad about the people they talked bad about you to. This goes for relationships also, you will talk to a person for weeks/months and you think everything is going great, then the texts and calls do not happen as much, they do not ask you to hang out as much.. I know we have ALL been through this, and I came to the conclusion of, you are not the problem, they are. If someone can not keep in contact with you or not show they care, drop them because really life is way to short worrying about people that can care less about you, and instead of dealing with people like that find people that will show you every single day how much they care and you do not have to go out of your way for them because they will just always be there for you. this goes for friendships and relationships, if someone does not try to stay/be in your life forget them because in all reality you do not need them, There are billions of people in the world, surround yourself with good positive people and you will feel a million times better! I have been through this a ton and really it’s a you live and learn and hopefully learn from all your mistakes and make better choices in the future, you are worth it do not let anyone else let you think or to feel otherwise, oh and another random thought, be careful what you post on social media because people WILL and DO take it the wrong way and think automatically it is about them, and believe me they will hold that grudge for years, I know from experience, well fellow bloggers end of rant I look forward to reading everyone else’s blogs. I can definitely relate to this topic. Earlier this year I had a friend who I basically took under my wing and took very good care of her. She betrayed me. (guess who was shocked and didn't see it coming). It is hard when you get into a situation like that where you put your trust into someone and they do something for you not to trust them. The only thing is that you can not let them change your character. Still have a loving and open heart. If ou start to close it off, it will only hurt yourself and hurt the chances of you meeting someone fantasic whether it be a friendship or relationship.

Entering the Real World

I’m at a point in my life where I have experienced my childhood and getting towards that stage of a very young man and I need to live up to the expectations i’m about to face once I graduate college. I feel like the older I become faster time flies away and is catching up with me. I remember the days when I a child I used to go to school, come home, watch television, hang out with friends, do something recreational and I would still have plenty of my day left. Now I could barely do all those things in one day for example when I was in middle school and entering high school I wasn’t thinking about college and my future I was just living in the moment as every kid enjoys and lives their childhood. Now me being in my sophomore year I’m starting to realize I’m about 2 years away from graduating and stepping into the real world, where you work, pay bills, start a family, and etc. I want to enjoy every opportunity and moment of my college experience that I have left because these years fly by. As people refer college as the last free years of your life for a long time; because that’s the last time you’ll have complete freedom and live life without as many worries. This year I got my first job ever because I thought that I needed some experience in a work field so that I could have responsibility and also to become better at time management. I also needed to get used to working a certain amount of hours so I can experience how it feels, and at the same time why not work and meet new people than not doing anything productive and staying in dorm sleeping or doing something not important. I may never know who I might meet and I’m trying to use this time in college to become more involved and make connections and networking with people so that when I step into real life I could better prepare myself. I’m also taking this opportunity to stretch my knowledge on how to become more successful in life  and I know that studies says that most college graduate don’t get a job within 1 year of their graduation and that It takes long for them to find one. I’m not trying to be one of  those statistics I’m trying to be different by knowing my resources and networks. So this is a pivotal moment in my life and I’m trying to make the best decisions for me and the most beneficial.

Talking about the real world is pretty scary when you hit our age. Before, we couldn't wait to grow up and do our own thing. But now, forget it, the closer the more pressure and scarier it becomes. Getting a job now is good. Personally, I had been in the "working" field for a couple of years now. It does help you meet people but it also builds a sense of character as well as a more dependable aspect to you. Yes, growing up may be scary but enjoy it! Everything is not going to come all at once. It will be steps and before you know it, you have everything going for you. To be honest, be proud of the fact that you got this far, because there are some people who don't even get the chance to.

This week we got to pick what we wanted to blog about.  I decided to pick a topic that is very important throughout elementary school and all the way up to being an adult. That topic is bullying. Throughout my school years I saw a lot of people being bullied. A lot of teenagers have committed suicide because people beat them down so much that they don’t believe in themselves anymore and they figure everyone will be better off without them. I personally know of someone who committed suicide because of being bullied.  I work with kids and sometimes they will come up to me and I ask how there day was at school and sometimes I get the answer “bad” and I always ask why and the one day a teenager said to me it was horrible I hate high school and I don’t want to go back. When she said that to me I was shocked because I loved high school. I asked her what happen and she explained to me that a few girls in her grade thought it would be a good idea to make fun of her and start to beat her up in the halls. I asked if she knew why the girls did this and the girl said because I don’t get along with them. I was so shocked that this is happening in high school. It’s pathetic that if you don’t like someone you have to take it to those measures. If I see someone getting bullied I will personally go up to the bully and say something. We are in college and it still even happens to many people throughout campus. It is insane how many times I can hear people talking bad to someone and thinking that it is ok. Growing up my parents always told me if you have nothing nice to say then don’t say anything at all. And I live by that every day and it’s so true. You have no reason to talk bad about someone. The only reason people do that is because they don’t feel good about themselves. I think that it is pretty pathetic when I see adults bullying a child. Also I hate when I see a teenager bullying an older gentlemen or women. Its not fair to anyone who is being bullied.

It is sad to say that bullying does go on. Through middle school and the first two years of high school, I was bullied myself. It is such a shame when others pick on people who they know are "easy" targets. They go around often with their friends making fun of people with no true purpose. The worst part is that children most of the time do not even know why they are being bullied. The feel like they were just a luck of a draw and that is why. But you should be happy that the kid you spoke to was comfortable enough to tell you because most of the time, children hold in their emotions and problems.

Trying to make it on your own is hard. For a minute now, I have been trying to come up with ways to move out. I understand that I am young and in school but I hear of many people who do it. It may take a lot of work but I am willing to do it. I am at the age where I think that I should be off on my own experiencing new things. But why is it so hard? The cost to move out is ridiculously high. And what is so ironic is that in order to get a good job you need to go to school but when you get you good job, you have to pay back the school. It is an endless cycle that just keeps going on and on. How are people suppose to be successful when there is just not a chance for them to go on with what they want to do? It feels like in NYC it is just hard to get housing all together. I feel like in order to get your own place you need to know someone or have a connection. It also doesn't help that the city is trying to push some people out of their homes. I know, for example, that my aunt lives in upper Manhattan. They are so set to make it a Jewish area that they are bribing people to move somewhere else just to bring some wealth into the area.  But where do those people go? Where are they suppose to go? If no one is moving out of their spots and some people are just being kicked out or bribed out, what happens to all those people? I am pretty sure they don't go to the surrounding states around them. Most of the people that are in New York have been there for many years. The apartments they have are probably ones that their families gave them. And the even luckier ones have rent control so they only pay $400 like back in the days for a 4 bedroom apartment. So, when you are faced with a situation like this, what shall one do? It is a hard question to answer. It feels like everyone needs a little wiggle room but no one is willing to provide it. Maybe I will have better luck down south.

Breaking points. We all have them and we are bound to have one as life moves on. Honestly, I expect the average person to get to that serious point at least 4 times in their life, most likely even more. My thing is, how do you deal with them? Sure enough people will always tell you that you need to lift yourself up and give you some advice that fits into your tailored situation/ problem. But what happens when you just don't have anyone to hear those words from?

Well you see, I got to a breaking point last night. I was shocked when it actually happened myself. I didn't know I could feel so vulnerable and alone when I am use to having people around me. But when that one situation just adds the final weight to the platter, you notice that you no longer can hold it anymore and it all comes crashing down. But the situation that you go through is not the problem even though your reaction is blown out of proportion. It feels like when you watch a person open a champagne bottle and the cork goes flying through the air. Everyone is excited about the champagne but no one wonders where the cork goes.

That's how I feel. Like the cork that bottled everything in. Everyone loves the razzle dazzle of drama but forget that there is so much more that meets the eye. Not to make a sob story but when you are dealing with family issues, grades not being where they need to be, having a job because you have to take care of yourself, and now your health is not up to par, it weighs on you. You put on a smile to ease everyone's comfort level cause lets face it, who wants to deal with someone's problems?

It is a sad place when you get to that point. When you reach it, you see who is truly there. You see who is paying attention to your need of help. You ultimately see who really just cares for you. But when you face the fact that there isn't much people and they are more like acquaintances, what do you do? And guys, no I am not talking about anything that would lead to self harm but more of you mentally just fading away to the background. We all get there, but I guess my question to you is, how do you pick yourself back up?

Reflection

My reflection about other people's blogs were that they were eye opening. In a way, it was sort of refreshing. Sometimes we forget the everyday problems that still exist in the world and we have to take a step back to realize them. It is sad to say but sometimes maybe we do need an assignment to see what is going on. It is so easy to be consumed in your own life that you forget about what is happening. And all these topics or issues could be happening right in our backyards and we don't even know it!

Project 1

For my project I decided to talk about on why people brag about themselves so excessively, as well make other people feel bad about themselves.  In today’s society especially the younger generation tend to focus on materialistic things such as what kind of sneaker a person have whether it is Jordan’s, or Belengica’s, what kind of clothes a person wears if it high end brand or whether if a person is team iphone or team androids. Growing up I have witnessed people humiliate those who had less or appeared to have less than they do.  Some children don’t have the luxury or the privileges that other children have, and it’s upsetting to see how people put each other down over materialistic possessions. I want to mainly focus on those that actually make fun of people who have less and why do they enjoy making people feel bad about themselves on stuff that they can’t afford  because they don’t have the latest clothes or technology. Why do people feel the need to brag about themselves and plus have an arrogant attitude. Some component I believe that contributes with this behavior comes from being neglected, wanting to be accept, how they were raised, cultural aspects, gender, and also race. Also I want to focus on why society make it okay for a men to self promo but not for women. Why is there a constant double standard between men and women. People should be able to share their achievements and their goals in life. In my project I don’t want to make it seem that bragging is wrong because everybody has brag about themselves but I want to explain how it can be use in the sense of affecting others negatively, and why sometimes people feel that they don’t even have the right to brag about themselves.  Obviously people go through different situation and sometimes people are not going to get the same opportunities and it is not fair for a person to put done the next men because he or she is not on the same level as you. There is nothing wrong to proud on what you have and what you have achieve but don’t put down someone else and make them feel like shit. I myself have experience where people talk down to me and judge because I didn’t have what they have and I think it is something a lot of people experience and I want to talk about it.

This is a really good topic. Most people don't think about things like this. That people who act a certain way are behaving this way because maybe there is something wrong. This can also lead to a lot of other topics like cyber bullying and bullying in general. People's perception on things can really make it hard for one to either relate to or see other sides. I am glad that someone is doing this topic cause it will led to a lot of other ideas and people's perception will change after reading this.

PROJECT 1 Batman is the best hero of all time let’s get that out of the way but i will narrow it down to best dc hero of all time he has done so many things that any other human could never do let alone other heroes could do and they have powers when he does not He has done so many great things that i will show so that you can see why he is the greatest of all time I can start by showing that when he was young his parents got killed right in front of his eyes what made him want to become a hero Then I can show him training over the years to become the skilled fighter that he becomes in the future it can be like the preparation for all the stuff to come then I can show like him first going out as the batman for the first time and making the mistake as in creating the joker his worst nightmare then i can show the next thing when he gets his first protege robin and started training him under his wing to become the next best thing Then I can show the time when he got his back broken by bane this was like the first time batman has really lost but he came back and ended up winning in the long run the next thing that I can put up is when he actually had a death in the family when robin was killed and batgirl ended up not being able to walk anymore that was a big defeat on batman’s heart he believes he has failed them both in big ways I can put a lot of villains batman has fought over the years and has bested them many of times no matter what the situation was Then I can put the forming of the justice league they basically formed because batman had this brilliant idea to make them all work together to get stuff done the next thing that I can put is the fact when batman became old and fought superman and beat him then faked his death so that the government would never be looking for him anymore he can move in the shadows the last things I can put is when he passes on his mantle to terry in the future who becomes batman beyond in the future when batman is too old to be fighting crime like how he used to when he was young its basically like a timeline of his life to show why hes the greatest

I have never really seen Batman in this way. It is funny because a lot of people just know the superheroes and the villains that go along with them. Not much people actually go into detail about the heroes own story. Some do but not the official background and what connects each one together. If you sit there and connect all of this together, you will find that all of them relate to each other some how or another. But it nice to see that you are bringing up a topic that is light and can make people more interested in comics.

Childhood Obesity

Hmm, what is childhood obesity if you may ask? it is a bunch of fat kids? one would usually say. Well the medical definition for childhood obesity is  Children that become overweight and obese for a variety of reasons. The most common causes are genetic factors, lack of physical activity, unhealthy eating patterns, or a combination of these factors. Only in rare cases is being overweight caused by a medical condition such as a hormonal problem, According to (webmd.com). So what this all means is that  kids in the United States are getting dangerously over weight and its a risk factor for a lot of diseases like heart disease, and Type 1 and 2 Diabetes. And that not good for our future generations that wants to become doctors, lawyer, scientists and many more.  So what usually causes these problem one may ask, and the answers are lack of funding in the public schools where these kids has no opportunity to be involved in a gym class instead they offer 15 mins break to run around the yard ( if they have one ) as well as the funding to have health classes to teach others about there bodies and most importantly the fat intake in our bodies. Another cause can be the advertisements that attracts our eye and our future generations eye. Especially with the FREE TOY in every happy meal. So how can we help to fix this problem , in my opinion I believe we should help to encourage our kids to drink water and 100% fruit juices , as well we should have healthy alternatives to the food like fresh fruit, veggies, lean protein ( Chicken Breast, Turkey) instead of the fried foods try grilling or baked and make sure you enjoy it and teach others as well.  And that’s the ROYAL TEA on Childrenhood Obesity.

Child obesity has been a topic well talked about but not really researched over. It is nice to see that the typical blame on the parents is not a cause. The schools I admit do not help children exercise the way a child really should. But also, most of the time, schools pick finger foods like fries and nuggets to not only satisfy the kids but it is a quick fix that they don't have to slave over all day making. It is sad to see an increase in obesity over the years but something really does have to be done. Maybe there is more to a correlation to this too. Cause I mean it is cheaper to buy a burger than it is to buy a salad.

Animal Abuse

The topic I will be making my project about is Animal Abuse. The reason I have chosen to use this topic is because I feel that we do not discuss animal abuse as much as we should. The definition of animal abuse is the human infliction of suffering of harm upon any non-human animal, for purpose other than self-defense or survival. Animal abuse happens all over the world. In many places they abuse animals for people enjoyment. Which to me is not right. I feel that with me doing this topic I can hopefully find or at least understand why people harm animals. Many people do not understand how many ways animals are being abused. Animal abuse consist of being beating, shooting or stabbing animals, or setting them on fire. Also neglect is not giving an animal necessary food, water, shelter, or vet care. Many people including myself have no idea to what animal abuse really is. It has taken me looking up thing on the internet to truly have an understanding to animal abuse. This topic I understand can be very hard to understand. I am really looking forward to finding my focus in this topic. You can come from many directions in this topic. I personally want to come from the view of animal abuse in the United States and how it affects us. One things that I found out is that animal abuse are usually committed by males under the age of 30. Also the animals that get mostly abuse are dogs, cats, horses, and livestock. These are just some of the things that I found. As you can see animal abuse is something major in our society especially. Where I grew up would see a lot of people abuse there animal some were my friends. When I was young I did not pay attention what I saw. But as I have grown I have come more visual to the things around me. This has to stop. We can no longer let the world go on like this. Animal Abuse should not be tolerated anywhere around the world. If we see something, say something. One person can cause a change reaction. That is all we need to make a difference in this world. I’m willing to fight for what I believe in. Many back down to the challenge. I’m stepping into it head first and hoping for the best. LET’S STOP ANIMAL ABUSE!!!!

It is funny that you right about this because just a "few blogs ago" I wrote about life. But I wrote it inspired by my little dwarf frogs. I was writing about how precious life could be no matter how big or how small. Many people forget that even though we are considered the dominate animals that roam the Earth, that doesn't mean we get the right to hurt other animals. You make a very valid point. Could you imagine if other animals were smarter than us and so far advance that they kept us in captivity and used us as pets? People don't see that lives are lives no matter what. Nothing with a life should be abused or neglected. This is an important message that should make everyone think about what they could do to improve this matter.
