honestly johnathan is such a good narrator/protagonist. so often in lit there’s a degree to which you have to suspend disbelief not only for plot but also for characters’ actions, and i think writers (including myself) can take this for granted. but good ol johnny boy reacts very realistically to his environment and doesn’t do wacky shit that’s uncalled for “for the plot”. digesting dracula in chronological order bc of dracula daily really emphasizes this, i think. his anxieties, thoughts, and actions all make sense, and allow the reader to walk alongside him better :)
