i often wonder what were the series of events in my childhood that forced me to adopt the ‘independent woman’ character where she doesn’t need hugs, emotional support or anyone to take care of her.

Sometimes you are so frustrated from the lack of these human experiences in your life that you force (manipulate) yourself into believing that you never wanted or needed them. It’s a way to protect yourself from the pain.

But in reality, it’s the only thing you want. It’s the giant crevice of sadness in your life that keeps getting larger from the lack of everything that was held from you.
