Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes

The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve. 

Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.

If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.

Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.

This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!

My resolution for 2026 is to complete at least one full artwork a month. Which sounds simple, but honestly, I spend most of my free time either asleep, doomscrolling, or watching YouTube. I only completed two full rendered drawings in all of 2025.

For years I've only really used this account for reblogs, but now I kind of want to start making some of my own posts to share my art and stuff. Technically I've had a sideblog for that for a while, but really I'd rather have that stuff on my primary blog, yk? Also I haven't used the sideblog for two years lmao so I might make another one and redirect most of my reblogging to it in the near future, and have it take a back seat here.

Just throwing that out there since I know that most of the small number of people that follow this blog are here for the reblogs :3 if I end up going through with it, I don't mind if you want to unfollow. Do whatever you want. Happy 2026 everyone, may this year be kind to you.
