Super Throwback The Harlem Heroes @marvelentertainment @staff . . so felt like posting something that I've had for ages but never expressed found these in the crate…first off I'm well aware that these pictures r horribly anatomically incorrect😅 with that said when I was younger I remember always drawing my own original characters, comics, stories etc and copying pictures from my favorite comics but being black I never truly realized there was little representation it was the norm and yet it was something I craved but was predisposed to accept🤔 who knew that psychologically innately when I recreated these characters especially the marvel ones I wanted to make an inclusive group because my vision as a kid (still is) was that of a global group of diverse superheroes and villains. . . Hence I drew up the "Harlem Heroes" a play on Stan Lee and Marvels superhero characters which included real life situations and issues and diverse characters from D.R., Jamaica, Ecuador, Africa, Asia Europe etc. various ethnicities that dealt with racism xenophobia, bigotry, govt turmoil all real life complex stuff but things that I was passionate about as a youth the catch was the group was diverse in background and skin color and I remember writing story after story of the Harlem heroes adventures but never pursued art because I didn't believe in my artistic hand nor had the proper people to give guidance to get better and follow through. Then you go down life's path and forget about the artist that burns inside of you screaming to be released. . . Well I don't know how many eyes if any will see this and that's ok but shout out to the young individuals & dreamers of all ages who are grinding towards a vision of inclusion imagination and constant creativity. Don't let anyone derail you from your dreams do your best to center yourself around those who will assist in helping you making it a reality. Time waits for no one so neither should you. *trust I kno I kno the art is not that good but hey I never took a art class until later in life
