@ywsunyool
new kid.
KIYONG !
“so like, what is this? what’s the deal?” he eyes everything suspiciously, as if a festival dedicated to flowers, of all things, is going to do any damage to him. though he can hardly be blamed; he’s been uprooted from his home suddenly, transplanted into soil foreign to him. he’s unfamiliar with the customs, the people, the idiosyncrasies. not that sunyool might know any better, but at least he’s been here longer than kiyong has.
the boy kicks at a stone, watches it bump and tumble across the path, and pretends that he’s not hanging out with sunyool for any reason other than he has to. though that’s not strictly true; sunyool is just the most familiar face to him in a sea full of strangers.
“do they like.. worship the plants here or something? this is like living in the stone ages. it’s so dumb. giving a human sacrifice to the harvest goddess or whatever.” he wishes he had another stone to punt across the town. “and what’s the deal with the balloon? this is sponsored by joja, isn’t it? i thought it’d be a bit better.” a bit more civilized, by kiyong’s city boy standards. a few booths and a hot air balloon isn’t his idea of a good time. if he’s not stung to death by grandpa’s bees, then he’ll surely die of boredom in this place.
he’s my good friend’s grandson, his grandfather had told him, kindheartedly resting a hand on sunyool’s shoulder, eyes curved into that secret smile of his, so take care of him.
sunyool hasn’t had the opportunity to tell his grandfather yet, but he’s under the impression that kiyong isn’t the type to let just anyone take care of him. that aside, sunyool’s experience with the village is just as limited as it was six months ago, and as much as he’d like to pretend he’s part of yangwon, he knows best that he isn’t.
(and maybe that’s why he sort of empathizes with kiyong’s dilemma.)
kiyong would probably be better off with someone else to be forced into friendship with, but sunyool doesn't have much to say when his grandfather's the one asking him for a favor.
“uh,” he says faintly, trying to remember what his grandmother told him this morning about the festival when she urged him out of bed. truth be told, he had zero intention of attending, but now he’s here, and with similar questions. “kind of? not really plants, but the harvest goddess—who, like, controls plants...” this is ineloquent, and he’s painfully aware. “y’know, i’m not really positive myself! this is my first real festival here too. i was sick during the last one.”
oops. he always says more than he wants to. something about kiyong just makes it too easy for sunyool to let his guard down.
“did you put your name in?” he asks instead, smiling at kiyong, essentially immune to the older man’s perpetually terrible mood by now. “maybe you’ll get picked for the hot air balloon.”
promise you
dear , @ywsunhwa
truth be told, he knew his sister would be around, but he hadn’t really anticipated actually running into her.
(and it’s not that sunyool didn’t want to, either; he’s only of the opinion that even the forces of nature have conceded that some paths just aren’t meant to cross. why else would it have taken them this long to come to terms with who they were supposed to be to each other?)
sunyool blinks away his minor shock after bumping into sunhwa in the midst of the crowd. “sorry, noona,” he says first and foremost, offering a sheepish smile. idly, he scratches his cheek, at a loss for what to say before remembering something he’d made a point to drop by home to pick up after seeing the festival decorations for the first time an hour ago. “oh, uh—”
in the distance, he sees a family of four, the two children clinging onto each other’s hands for dear life, free hands grabbing fistfuls of their father’s shirttails.
“i thought you might want this?” it’s nothing special, really, just a chilled bottle of apple juice from home. the first person he’d thought of after seeing the obnoxious blue-and-white banners strewn across the plaza was his sister, and he wonders belatedly if it’s strange how many idiosyncrasies he’s picked up about sunhwa just from trying to coexist with her. “since—y’know, everything’s all joja… uh, i had it on me, but you should have it!”
rule breaker
dear , @ywshun
it happens all too quickly.
one second, there’s a string in his hand, a bright balloon floating just a few centimeters above sunyool’s head. the rituals and complexities of the festival are still sort of lost on sunyool, but he doesn’t mind being part of the crowd, and if being part of the crowd means pickling out a balloon (free of cost)—he can do that much. so. one second, there’s a string in his hand, a bright blue balloon that’s supposed to be carrying flower seeds whipped to and fro by a much-welcome spring breeze.
he imagines shun is having a great time, considering the influx of JOJA plastered all throughout the town plaza. sunyool turns his attention to the older man, gesturing vaguely with his hand (the balloon following his every movement). “are you going to pick a balloon out? i didn’t expect to see so much blue today! maybe i should have picked a different balloon color—”
one second, there’s a fully functional balloon clinging a ribbon’s length away to sunyool’s hand.
and then—maybe he’ll blame it on a stray pine needle—there’s nothing: only an offensive pop! and what feels like confetti scattering all over him and shun.
“oh,” sunyool says distantly, the full effect of what’s happened not quite dawning on him yet. right. well that wasn’t supposed to happen. “shoot.”
rose colored
dear , @ywyein
intermittently, a nearby stall will be crowded with people—mostly boys—and a clamor will arise, the sound of pens scratching across paper all at once almost louder than the spring breeze. sunyool doesn’t pay much attention to it, not because he doesn’t care, but because he genuinely doesn’t know enough to even begin to make sense of what’s going on.
he’s new enough to be able to blame it on a lack of exposure to the culture of the town. in haesan, they don’t really have festivals like this; and the only experience sunyool has with anything of the sort is when he was younger and visiting yangwon for the holidays. in youth, those were the highlights of his days off from school—a break from the hum-drum back-and-forth of city life, a new view than the one he’d grown too-accustomed to in his bedroom when his body fell especially frail.
gureum squirms in his arms, and sunyool almost regrets bringing the puppy to the festival (after accidentally tearing apart a pot of flowers at the entryway, the boy had quickly switched gears to holding the dog instead of letting him run rampant). “what are they signing up for, exactly?” sunyool asks yein, turning to look at the girl beside him curiously. he’s grateful to have run into a friend early on, even better that she probably has an idea of what, exactly, is happening. “a raffle or something..?”
𝙡𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧’𝙨 𝙗𝙡𝙪𝙚.
GIN !
( ... )
the comment doesn’t beg for an answer, but gin would like one nonetheless. in fact, he was almost always this way. he had gone through the conscious effort of bringing a small handful of sweets along to share with the younger boy, dressing himself down as not to seem intrusive walking through his front door.
“so, how’s your week been?”
he’s a pretty trusting person.
(like—Believed My Best Bud in Haesan When He Told Me Eggs Are Fake at the Tender Age of Twelve trusting.
...okay. so maybe he’s kind of stupid, too.)
still, sunyool’s come a long way from his mother being exasperated and concerned all-in-one that he might get swept away by strangers some day. he’s still trusting, but at the very least, he’s aware of his surroundings (and especially himself)—which is precisely why his nerves are a little frayed today, sitting too-straight and too-still in the chair in front of gin, anticipating both the best and the worst outcomes to this scenario.
“oops,” he murmurs, shoulders automatically slouching upon command. sunyool closes his eyes too naturally. it’s weirdly comforting when people touch his hair, and if he weren’t concerned about the before-and-after, he might fall asleep. “i am a little nervous,” sunyool confesses, eyes still closed, arms crossed against his chest, “but it’s not because i’m not confident in your ability!”
it’s true. he’s confident in gin’s ability.
but he was also confident in his grandmother’s ability when he was eight-years-old. that confidence crumbled into a fine dust when she’d sneezed while holding the scissors (blunt scissors, which could be both a positive or a negative, looking back) and sunyool had to sport the worst haircut known to mankind for what felt like a lifetime. said haircut only got worse after the haidresser in haesan attempted to fix it, and though his classmates’ laughter was short-lived, sometimes in his fondest nightmares, he recalls the class photo his mom refuses to burn for him.
he trusts gin.
(and in the worst case scenario, sunyool’s favorite character in slam dunk has a buzz cut. it’ll be fine.)
“good, i guess?” sunyool opens one eye, almost squinting, stray strands of hair splayed in his field of vision. “went to work on monday, took some walks—oh! grandma tried out a new recipe for preserves. she told me to give you some! remind me after we’re done and i’ll grab the jar...”
with each movement gin makes, the smell of lavender grows stronger and stronger.
sunyool almost sneezes (but he doesn’t—crisis averted).
“how was your week?” sunyool asks, stifling a yawn. “sorry, is lavender supposed to make you sleepy...?”

dog days
YEIN !
( ... )
“yang sunyool, throw another rock at my window and i’m going to-” her perfectly planned threat was cut off, right arm in the middle of waving her hairbrush when her gaze lands on something in his arms, something cute and moving and…dirty, if she’s seeing correctly.
“what is that?” she leans forward, practically half out of her window, which would be dangerous if not for the fact that she does this all the time. “did you bring a dog to my house?”
the hairbrush yein’s about to chuck at him? okay, maybe he had it coming. he’s grateful that she has the mercy in her heart to spare him, though, because the puppy in his arms is incredibly unsettled, and sunyool’s almost positive that it would probably pee on him had any projectile been hurtled in their direction.
“sorry!” he whispers at a relatively audible decibel, holding up one hand in peace and in apology.
alarm passes over him briefly when she balances her torso over the edge of the window, only abating when he realizes 1) it’s yein and 2) it’s yein. the dog whines petulantly and sunyool already feels tired. he’s much too attached to the animal to give up now, though, and in his next life, he thinks to make a special request to the powers above to make him less of a pushover.
“uh,” sunyool says, ineloquent as always, a sheepish laugh replacing any semblance of explanation as he scratches his cheek.
maybe he should have gone to someone else, but even now, sunyool can’t really think of anyone but yein. it’s probably his own fault that he can count the people he could really trust with a gigantic favor like this on one hand, but even having that many good friends wasn’t a part of the plan. he’d moved into yangwon, intent on keeping everyone an arm’s length away, but song yein is a force to be reckoned with. he’s not even sure, really, when she managed to sneak into the inner circle of his life.
it’s too soon to tell how long this blissful friendship will last after sunyool explains to her, in-depth, what sort of situation, exactly, he’s gotten himself into now.
(he’s optimistic, but maybe he shouldn’t be.)
“yeah... about that... could you come outside for a second?” the puppy jumps, licking sunyool’s face as though knowing that (hopefully) good news was to come. “i need your help!”
color blue
HYUNGSEO !
( ... )
he takes the bright blue bracelet he’d been eyeing all this while from its display hook, inhaling through his nose as he comes forward to stand at his side, steps stuttered on the way there. “take a better look,” he offers, anticipating the same old wide-eyed gaze he’d been so drawn to at first sight long ago with bated breath, his own childlike in return. just as it was then.
it’s you. his heartbeat’s uncomfortable, quick. it has to be you.
it’s strange how sunyool always seems to find hyungseo (hyungseo, of course, how could he forget?) when he’s at his loneliest.
then: barely eight-years-old, too small to understand that a crowd as big as yangwon’s isn’t very big after all. he’d thought the world had come close to ending when his mother disappeared from his sight and all he was left with was a harrowing unfamiliarity and an empty hand. and then another boy had filled the gap too easily, and sunyool still remembers crying the day after, heart all too broken at the thought of going back to haesan.
now: on the cusp of nineteen, tiptoeing across a tightrope stretched thin from home (haesan) to here (yangwon). there are days—more than desired—where sunyool feels like he’s lost in his own house, weaving down the halls, passing photographs of three that don’t include him. there’s one collecting dust in the living room—he’s probably the same age as he was the last time he saw hyungseo, and to no one’s surprise, sunyool’s close-to-tears in that photo too.
there’s a strange tightness to his heart as he he gazes at hyungseo, a sense of nostalgia hitting him too hard and too quickly. wide-eyed, almost jarred, it takes a second for sunyool to realize that there’s a glimmer of recognition in hyungseo’s eyes that reflects sunyool’s own. his hands are shaking a bit—they always are, if he thinks about it, and he’s blamed it on the cold, on anything but himself—and it’s too belatedly that he realizes it’s hard to speak.
wordlessly, he takes the bracelet from hyungseo’s hand, a spark of realization tearing his attention away (only briefly) from his friend—his friend—and to the piece of jewelry. “i like it.” his voice is faint, muffled. and then, a little louder, a smile blossoming on his lips—uneasiness folded beneath a current of joy, “i like it.”
there are times when he feels foreign, like a temporary extension of an existing world that was fine without him. it’s hard grappling with unbelonging when he has his hands full trying to find himself in the midst of too many unanswered questions—
but for a moment, his mind is quiet, the only picture playing at the back of his mind one of reds, golds, oranges: autumn leaves bursting with warmth, a crowded plaza of bright silk, a boy his age holding his hand until the very end.
“i’ll take it if you can remember my name,” sunyool says with a grin.

YOUNGAE !
( ... )
with her free hand, she pushes a branch out of the way. the fallen tree is a personal favorite spot of hers. there’s not much around other than that, but the girl vouches that’s the reason why the birds sing a bit louder while you’re near; why the flower petals grow a bit more vibrant. “there we go!” youngae hops towards the unremarkable monument, leaving the branch to fall behind her. “are you hungry? ‘cause i am!”
something about the mountainside is comforting to him. yangwon is already much quieter than haesan ever was, but there’s an unfamiliarity to it that’s cloying at times, a lingering question of permanence. the mountains are different; it’s hard to grapple with the feeling of belonging (or lack thereof) when no human could ever really belong in a place built of earth, and earth alone.
his pensive moment of meditation is abruptly interrupted by a branch literally smacking him in the face. it takes him by so much surprise, that sunyool forgets to even make a sound, much too preoccupied with rubbing at the newly formed sore spot on his face and wondering why it’s so easy to get distracted as soon as the town is out of sight and out of mind.
youngae is good company to have—even more energetic and friendlier and even more extroverted than sunyool is, himself, which would have been intimidating had it been attempted by anyone but her. the past few months of being acquainted with her have introduced him to more secluded, special patches of yeoshin that sunyool’s grown awfully attached to. sure, he’s been finding it harder by the day to dodge the dairy products she keeps gifting him with (and he’s starting to think his grandparents are tiring of the yogurt he surreptitiously slips onto their breakfast plates), but that obstacle aside, all is well.
“wow,” he says, mostly to himself, gaze starting from one end of a massive, fallen tree to the other end, where wildflowers—bright and purple—are blooming blissfully. “this is so cool!” sunyool grins, stretching his arms above his head, the branch, among other complicated thoughts, forgotten as he trails behind youngae.
a deep breath slips past his lips, and maybe it’s a sigh of relief. man, it sure is nice getting away.
“yeah, i could eat something,” he replies easily, hardly thinking as he looks around. breakfast was hours ago and time’s gone by too quickly. “aw, man, i should have brought something for us to share...”

AHIN !
( ... )
first: ouch. second: god. why. she landed elbows first near the middle of mess, landing near the feet of the culprit. she recognized his face, but couldn’t quite place the name. instead of moving to sit up, ahin dropped her head for a moment, quickly, hoping maybe the situation wasn’t real. once the sting of road burn kicked in, she sighed and raised her head, batting an apricot towards him.
“i… think you dropped something?”
maybe if he closes his eyes, he can pretend the worst case scenario isn’t happening as he stands, helpless as always, to help the girl literally falling forward because of his mess. maybe if he had more shame, he’d blame it on the apricots. but he doesn’t, so naturally, he’s horrified, hand outstretched in a feeble attempt at catching her, only to miss dramatically, swiping at air instead.
it’s not a terrible fall or anything, but sunyool feels pretty terrible about it, which is more than enough. gureum is of no help, yelping excitedly at the stranger now at eye-level with him. the puppy sprints on his tiny legs, circling around the girl—and sunyool recognizes her—before licking her face.
“oh my god,” he mutters to himself, covering his face with both hands briefly before letting his arms fall to his side, legs already bent as he crouches down, extending a hand to her in belated assistance. “i’m so sorry,” sunyool stammers out, his expression pinched into a wince. the apricot she’s rolled in his direction hits the tip of his shoe and gureum is distracted, deciding to nip at it instead.
he recognizes her, has seen her face more than once both in his neighborhood and outside of it—which makes this entire situation all the worse, because sunyool’s heart is much too soft to brush off accidentally making a stranger fall with a mere apology.
“ahin, right?” he asks, attempting—with much futility—to fix his mouth into a smile. they might have spoken in passing, but it’s kind of embarrassing that their first real conversation is not quite at eye-level. “er, i’m sunyool. nice to meet you...?”
gureum barks, and sunyool almost groans.
“guess it’d be even nicer to meet you if you weren’t on the ground because of me,” he amends feebly, picking up a stray apricot with his free hand and glancing at it dolefully.
baby steps
dear , @ywyoungae
sunyool vaguely remembers youngae mentioning conch shells (and more importantly, how much she likes them) in passing. and he hopes he’s remembering correctly, otherwise the hours he toiled on the beach yesterday instead of doing more productive things (like sleeping) trying to discern conch shells from not-conch-shells would be for nothing. as it turns out, not all shells are made equal, and some are attached to creatures that have claws.
(but he digresses.)
it’s not like youngae’s impression of him could get any worse, so really, this is just an act of penance—a gift that’s supposed to say ‘sorry you have to be friends with me when i lied about eating your farm’s yogurt and you had to see me humiliate myself and—’
(but he digresses.)
the conch shell in his hand feels oddly heavy as sunyool meanders the plaza grounds, trying to spot a familiar face in a sea of almost-strangers. he probably doesn’t need to go this far to apologize (probably doesn’t even need to apologize, honestly), but he doesn’t mind the extra effort of contributing to someone’s day, especially if it’s a friend like youngae.
by the time he finally manages to see her loitering by the balloon stand, sunyool’s already smiling. the past few days have gone by with zero mention of The Incident and it’s a little out-of-character for him to be taking initiative like this, but youngae’s worth it (and he’s really sorry about the yogurt thing, still).
“youngae!” he greets, hands clasped behind his back. “oh—have you picked out a balloon already?” his gaze flickers to the bright colors floating in the air beside him. easily distracted, sunyool leans closer, examining the latex with scrutiny. “what are the choices again? grass, blue jazz... and daffodils?”
wait. he’s a man on a mission.
“oh!” sunyool gasps, mostly to himself. “sorry, almost slipped my mind, but, uh, here!” he extends the conch shell out to her with a sheepish, almost embarrassed smile on his lips. “um, kind of wanted to apologize? for lying about the yogurt... and also wanted to thank you for taking me to the clinic... haha.”
wee woo
dear , @ywseungho
ABANDONED to the whims of the crowd, our lone protagonist searches fervently for an escape route that will leave him unnoticed by the festive yangwonites (yangwonians? what?) and their dangerously over-blown balloons.
...
sunyool snaps out of his daze when a kid runs across his shoe (ow?), internal dramatics cut short as reality dawns upon him. right. he came to the festival because he had to, decided to stay because he didn’t have anything better to do, and now he’s at a crossroads, because as chill as it’s been navigating a bustling town plaza, that nagging feeling at the pit of his stomach is starting to claw its way up to his throat again.
it’ll only be a matter of time before festivals like this are a thing of the past and he’s uprooted out of the blue again, swept back to haesan’s busy streets and his little space (probably dusty by now) in their two-bedroom apartment that was never meant to house more than a family of three.
he’s too young and stupid to dwell on the consequences of letting himself fall in love with a town he’s supposed to treat with graceless distance though—and it shows when the smile splits across his face and he leans down to pick up a pinwheel abandoned by the little girl.
he’s fixated on the bent paper toy as he walks, careless as always when he very nearly bumps into a stranger, just barely catching himself before he does.
“sorry!” sunyool apologizes immediately, gaze wide and startled as he tears his attention away from the pinwheel and his eyes land on someone who is far from a stranger.
almost immediately after processing that the person in front of him is no distant elderly stranger but the person who has been the single source of sunyool’s emotional turmoil (he’s being dramatic again) for what feels like a decade.
“oh,” he says weakly, the smile on his lips shaking, “hi seungho hyung.” that feeling of insecurity warps into panic and sunyool laughs nervously. “sorry, i’d stay and chat but i’m—uh, feeling sick!” seungho is a pharmacist. he’s also prone to worrying and sunyool does not want that. “i mean, i’m feeling great! i’m not sick! no need to worry! i, uh—”
this is going terribly and sunyool is more and more aware of this as the seconds pass.
“i,” he begins to say in defeat, “am fine. how are you, hyung?”
“I will always be there for you when you need me.”
meme one / closed
“i know,” sunyool says, voice a notch above a whisper, his tone almost petulant—he’s disappointed in himself after all.
it’s been a long week of going stir-crazy at home, bedridden with no way of really blowing off any steam. he’s not the type that needs to blow off steam anyway; or, at least he isn’t supposed to be. but too much has changed since he first stumbled into yangwon, feeling particular unimpressed and unenthused for what the future was to entail. he’s opened up, bit by bit, to people—jiwon included—and it’s just sunyool’s luck, a loose strand of his unraveled emotions, that he’s let one too many people in when he was supposed to push everyone away.
things are harder now. he has things he wants to talk about, wants to open up about, but he’s out of practice. it’d be breaking habit to sit someone down and tell them, eye-to-eye, i don’t know how to talk to my sister; tell them, eye-to-eye, tomorrow seems really daunting today; tell them, eye-to-eye, what do i do if i want to stay?
jiwon doesn’t know the annoying complexities of sunyool’s mind, sure, but he knows enough—knows there’s something there, gears clinking and turning agonizingly quickly, just waiting to be eased back into a familiar rhythm.
there’s so much unspoken in jiwon’s words and sunyool can only manage a tiny smile. this is just a regular check-up. it’s not the time or the place to lay his burdens in front of someone he’s sure, in another life, shared his flesh and blood.
“i know,” sunyool repeats, smiling wider. “i’ve never doubted it when it comes to you.”
good fun
open
one second, he’s holding a half-full bushel of fruit in his arms, on his merry way to the town plaza where the heart of the festival is—and hopefully the auntie he’s supposed to be making this last-minute delivery to, at the unrelenting bequest of his grandmother.
and then gureum’s barking up a storm at a squirrel a few inches way, jumping and squirming from where he’s perched (still small enough to take a ride with the apricots) in the basket. sunyool isn’t weak per se, but the bushel’s already hefty as is, and his excitable puppy having an absolute meltdown on top of it isn’t doing much to help him, and really, he’s just trying to get to the festival and get out as soon as possible when—
everything happens in slow motion. he’s literally a few steps past the entrance, a vendor within sight selling knick-knacks reeling in the curious hands of little children. sunyool thinks, distantly, that he’s almost done, and then it happens. in slow motion. like a god damn movie, except he’s not charismatic enough or even handsome enough (seriously, has anyone seen that chris hemsworth guy? unreal!) to be the star, so he’s really just a background character causing a scene at a family-friendly festival. he doesn’t curse, so the children are safe, but sunyool’s pride?
gureum—bless his soul—barks to catch sunyool’s attention, drawing his gaze from the not-very-far-off distance (a refreshments stand, some balloons, he could really go for a lemonade or something) to the apricots scattered on the ground all around him, a considerable obstruction to the walkway.
“oh,” is all he manages to say at first. gureum barks again and walks a lap around sunyool’s unmoving legs. he should probably clean these up before someone trips and he has to carry his head in shame for the rest of his indeterminable future in yangwon. “aw man...”
☾ . *• dark dwelling –
KIHA !
there’s a cave that’s just past a few landmarks well known to kiha and to take a look inside of the cave has been one of kiha’s most recent ambitions. he cannot and should not do so alone however, especially when mother of two. sawga is snug against his chest, sleeping as usual and sunyool carries bomi as they make their way into partial darkness. “here,” kiha says handing a black flashlight over to sunyool. “and a headlight too.” he huffs, looking down at his fawn and then back to sunyool.
“so i’ve been in far enough to know there’s not any sudden drops but i… carrying both of the fawns is a lot and i’m sure this cave goes on for awhile. but i have the feeling there’s some really rare things in here.” kiha pauses for a few moments to silently reach down to pet sagwa’s head and admire her sleeping face. “bomi is smaller,” he says looking over again with a smile. “she’ll be easier to carry in a sling than this one… eats too many strawberries, i think.” kiha pulls out a piece of chalk from his pocket and marks the walls, testing the strength of the chalk against the stone. “shall we adventure on?”
–––– @ywsunyool· ;*
the fawn in his sling is fast asleep and literally, no exaggeration, sunyool could melt right this second. he doesn’t, obviously, because there are clear safety implications (for bomi—who cares about sunyool?) involved with turning into a puddle of affection while holding a baby animal, but the sentiment is there. he’s honored and blessed to be the boy he is today and he makes a mental note to write home to his parents (thank you for letting me be born i love animals more than i love humans).
sunyool looks up from bomi to kiha, attention diverted from a careless train of thought back to his friend. he’s excited to have a change of pace; work’s been canceled for the day and his clinic appointment has been rescheduled for tomorrow. there’s no better opportunity to spend time with the people he cares about than today, and he’s lucky that kiha has more or less the same thirst of adrenaline as sunyool.
“i feel that,” sunyool says with a grin. “i eat too many apricots all of the time. brought a few with me, by the way, so let me know if you want any while we’re walking!”
bomi stirs and sunyool covers his mouth in a wordless, almost scandalized, apology to the fawn.
“oops,” he murmurs, feigning a grimace before taking one step forward, in time with kiha. sunyool doesn’t answer kiha’s question (bad habit) directly, but makes physical indication to kickstart their journey. “i’ve never been here before,” he says, walking slowly, “but i’ve been meaning to check it out.” there probably won’t be any geodes here, but sunyool’s curious enough to see what sort of secrets the caves have to offer. “are you hoping to find anything in particular?”
