Deltarune December Holiday & Kris Dreemurr HC/Theory ???
I like the idea of Dess becoming Kris’s safe space when they were little. She understood what it felt like to be outcasted and left out, so she was the one person Kris felt comfortable talking to about their insecurities.
Then one day, Kris has an absolutely horrible day at school. They’re overwhelmed, on the verge of tears, and finally decide to go find Dess because they’re starting to trust her enough to open up.
The problem is, this happens right around the time Dess is consumed by paranoia. She’s convinced she’s being hunted, so when Kris finds her by THE LAKE 👀 she panics and lashes out, yelling at them to leave her alone and to get away from her. To Kris, it feels like the one person they could be vulnerable with just rejected them completely. After that, they decide they’re never opening up to anyone again.
And then that’s when Dess goes missing.
On Dess’s side, I think she’d carry a lot of guilt over that moment. She knows she probably hurt Kris more than she could ever realize, but in her mind she was only trying to protect them from what she thought (or KNEW) was hunting her down. She wanted Kris as far away from her as possible because she genuinely believed they would be safer that way.
Also, I like to think thats when Kris stopped wearing the red horns. The reason they picked RED horns specifically was because maybe dess had red antlers and they wanted to be like her 💭
This could also enforce the idea that Kris looked up to/ended up like Dess as they got older, mimicking habits, picking up behaviors, etc…
