i think daddy BB wouldnt become a completely different person after having children. hed still be formal and duty-focused, except that now his mini-him is part of his duty.
* hed be the kind to listen attentively to his wife and almost every time obey her judgment concerning their child (especially when they just had the baby, because BB clearly has no clue how to do things right yet. so him and MC kinda learn together.)
* hed probably love waking up early as hell to go to work, just so he gets to watch MC and their baby sleeping peacefully. bonus points if MC prepared him a lunch box the day before to bring to work. (bro will compare lunch boxes with Serky-chan🍓)
* hed teach his kid practical things ridiculously early, like how to use a flashlight, what to do if they get lost or how to fix easy things in the house so they can help their mom.
* hed also NEVER laugh at his child's fears. if his kid is afraid of the dark and monsters, BB doesn't say "theres nothing to be afraid of" instead, hed check the room with them.
* hed absolutely kneel down to their height when speaking to them seriously.
basically hed just consider loving his family less of a feeling he needs to announce and more of a responsibility he is honored to fulfill.🥰
Do you think that BB set up cameras in Mad Dog or in MC’s apartment ? He seems oddly aware of where she is, what she does, especially in Mad Dog. In shift 2 and 3 he’s there as soon as she might need help, when there’s a suspicious person, and seems to know when she’s lying and when she’s with Lane. We could say that maybe he’s watching her from outside of Mad Dog, but during the night, and when it rains, he should get rather close to the store to be able to see her properly, and if that would be the case, then MC should have ended up seeing him outside
I don't know if there are any cameras, but I like to believe there aren't. I like to believe BB is so dangerous that he's the kind of stalker who doesn't need cameras to keep track of you.
Laly actually emphasized this herself:
"But he absolutely CAN'T be here watching the MC 24/24. I think that aspect is very good in stories like that because you can actually do things with other people with the yandere character not knowing it!!"
She specifically said there are times when the yandere doesn't know what the MC is doing.
To me, that implies there are genuinely moments when BB has no idea where she is, who she's with, or what state she's in. If he had cameras inside MD or inside her apartment, he'd already know everything she did 24/7. That statement wouldn't make much sense anymore.
Unless... Laly lies as much as BB does :))
That's why I think BB is actually more dangerous than a stalker relying on technology.
He doesn't need cameras. He doesn't need GPS. He doesn't need to stare at a monitor.
He just... knows....
It's almost like there's an invisible sensor carved into his skin, his bones, his mind. His obsession has become so deeply ingrained that it no longer feels like surveillance but feels more like instinct.
And before anyone gets too scared, I actually think there are perfectly reasonable explanations for how he can know certain things without relying on technology at all.
His uncanny timing is probably pattern based, not tech based.
He shows up the moment something feels wrong because he's memorized her schedule down to the smallest details. He knows when her shifts end. He knows roughly when she closes. He knows which customers tend to linger. He knows the streets she usually walks. He knows the days she's exhausted enough to skip dinner.
That's observation mixed with probability.
He's spent so long watching her that predicting her doesn't take much effort anymore.
He's like a dog that can smell its owner from miles away.
Like a dog that always finds its way home.
Like a dog that bites and never lets go.
He'll always know.
Not because he has supernatural senses ofc. Because somewhere along the way, she became his instinct.
Something else that's worth keeping in mind is that RJ and Randova, the owner of SLM, know each other.
Randova casually asked the MC whether RJ had gone bankrupt, which tells us he already knew about RJ's situation. They don't have to be friends, but they've clearly crossed paths before. That means information can travel between people without BB needing cameras everywhere.
I think another part of it is much simpler. He's physically around her more often than she realizes.
We already know BB could smell the MC's cheap meal through her apartment door and through the layers of his helmet.
People joke that his nose is as sharp as a dog's.
I don't think that's the (only) point. I think it's because he's observed her so frequently and so closely that every habit she's ever had has stitched itself into every one of his senses.
It isn't that he has an extraordinary sense of smell. It's that, on some primal level, he simply knows her.
The part about him knowing when she's lying is probably the least mysterious thing about him.
BB is incredibly attentive, controlled and observant. He's like the kind of person who notices tiny facial changes, subtle shifts in tone, hesitation, inconsistencies, and body language almost automatically.
Then combine that with his military background, whatever training he received, and the fact that he and the MC already knew each other before the story even begins.
This probably isn't the first time she's lied to him and this probably isn't the first time he's had to read her XD
After seeing the same reactions over and over again, recognizing her patterns would've become second nature.
And if the MC happens to be naturally expressive, someone who can't hide her emotions very well, then it becomes even easier.
A glance or a pause or the way her shoulders tense or the way her voice changes or the way she avoids eye contact. All those tiny clues would probably tell him everything.
People also sometimes forget that yes, BB is socially awkward, but not to the point where he can't communicate.
Laly said he can interact with people. He simply chooses not to connect unless he feels it's necessary.
He's fairly relaxed around his coworkers. He's even a little outgoing at times. He handled the female customer bothering him while he was working without completely shutting down.
And the clearest example is probably how he interacts with Lane during the drunk route.
That tells me BB is much better at socializing than he lets the MC believe.
Either he's lying about some parts of himself, or he's genuinely only awkward around her.
Personally, I think it's both. He definitely hides parts of himself. But I also think the MC is the one person who genuinely makes him nervous.
She's like.... the exception <3
And someone who's capable of socializing, reading people, recognizing behavioral patterns, and observing details like that...
Of course he'd eventually learn MC inside and out teehee
It would take time yes but BB is very very very hardworking. (Like Randova has told us)
If BB decided he wanted to understand someone, I honestly think he'd end up understanding them better than they understand themselves.
So my answer is well... no.
I don't think BB is relying on cameras.

Someone used to ask Laly if BB was constantly following MC around, wouldn't he stand out? Wouldn't she notice him? (Yeah, like his appearance is too easy to spot).
Laly's answer was something kind of like this:
He's not close enough for you to notice. But he's not that far away either.
Back then, we didn't know he was a military veteran, so at the time, everyone was confused. So maybe that answer makes a lot more sense now.
Military training isn't just about combat. It is also about camouflage also. It's about blending into your surroundings, staying unnoticed or knowing when to be seen and when not to be.
Whether that's disappearing into a crowd or using the environment to avoid drawing attention, I can imagine BB knowing exactly how to make himself present without being seen (at least in some sense).
I don't think our MC is like.... aware all the time, it is not like she's hyper aware of her surroundings every second of every day.
She's stressed and exhausted. And ofc she's dealing with her own psychological struggles also.
If BB knows how to make his presence fade into the background until he wants to be noticed, it wouldn't surprise me at all if there were plenty of moments where he was nearby and she never realized it.
Then the moment he wants to step into her life he just shows up. It is like flipping a switch.
We also have to remember this game is tagged as psychological horror ahahahah, unsettling and unpredictable moments are part of the experience.
Personally, I also think Laly tends to write her characters in a much more grounded way than simply making BB a tech obsessed stalker with cameras covering every inch of the MC's life.
Even if he does use a camera or some device once in a while, I still don't think that's the main reason he always seems to know when something's wrong.
To me, what's truly terrifying isn't the idea that he's watching her through a screen.
It's the possibility that after years of obsession, observation, (enough amount of) patience, and relentless attention, he doesn't need one anymore.
Also I think he stalks MC because he wants to stay close to her so using cameras kind of destroy that purpose?

i think Lane is a profound optimist wearing the clothes of a pessimist.
someone who only knows him casually would probably label him as a pessimist because hes always talking about how "everyones full of shit" etc but deep down Lane also expects things to work out for people or for him. he believes he can charm people or that arguments will blow over.
for example during the teen customer scene, he even buys the kid beer because even tho its risky, he believes it could end up being the best night of his life.
after losing his father so young and growing up feeling emotionally sidelined, Lane lowkey developed a worldview where affection feels "unstable."
he doesnt truly think that "love doesnt exist" he thinks "love exists, but i have to make sure people dont stop choosing me."
i think this optimistic side becomes much more visible in a relationship. hes always worried about not being enough but hes also the type of guy who underestimates damage.
if he says something hurtful, he assumes tomorrow will be normal again because he wants to believe the relationship is stronger than it actually may be.
but even if optimism is his baseline, he still goes through periods where grief pulls him into a much darker mindset. thinking about his dad can suddenly color the way he sees everything.
during those moments, he might not even tell MC whats wrong because hes spent years pushing those feelings aside. then once the wave passes he gradually returns to himself, acting like tomorrow will be fine.🥀
i also think its a nice contrast with BB whos much more pessimistic by default. Lane often doesnt notice problems until theyre already serious, whereas BB notices potential problems long before they exist.
Why I don’t think BB and RB are the same person (wall of text)
This is just my theory, but my brain is as goldfish level as Princess Bubblegum Lane’s taking care of, so take all of this with a grain of salt.
BB says he loves a colourful life, but Laly said he doesn’t have a favourite colour. Which makes sense, considering he always seems to dress in black and neutral colours. He likes seeing colour on other people!!

Bro is fully decked out in red gear, a red suit and all that stuff.
BB says it’s important for MC to wear protective gear when riding, but she’s never seen him wear any. He says it’s a habit he forgot, and that putting on gear takes forever. Maybe it’s just a hassle for him. Yeah, he likes feeling comfortable while riding, for example.
But he used to be in the army. With that kind of military discipline, it probably wouldn’t be that hard for him to put on some gear (???)
My thought is that he doesn’t wear any because every time he goes riding with RB, the dude takes forever to put his gear on and tells BB to do the same or to wait for him.
BB also hates the sound of Velcro. That’s such a specific thing to hate. Even though I also hate the sound of Velcro and a bunch of other specific sounds because I’m very sound sensitive. But I like to think it’s because RB’s gear is full of Velcro, and BB hates that sound so fucking much because every time he’s around RB, he has to wait for the dude to either put his gear on or take it off.

I can tell they didn’t make a good first impression on each other.
That might be why BB crashed her. She didn’t “obey” him yet. She was still attached to RB as her rightful owner.
I also like to think the day BB crashed Scarlette was the same day he took that picture in his locker, the one where there’s someone standing in the corner.

When BB talks about his old job at Paw Pizza, he says he quit because his old boss isn't the right leader for him. He got jumped by 10 guys and broke his left arm and nose. But he still completed his deliveries because BB says he had a 100% rating for completing orders.
So I assume that even though he got jumped that badly, he still went and delivered after that.
He says he returned home late that night, and MC asks whether he ever went to the hospital or called the police. But he doesn’t answer. He does say he didn’t go home right away and that he was eating.
Can I assume his last order, or last customer, was RB? The guy might’ve been confused af when a tall, strong man showed up at his doorstep completely messed up, holding a pizza box.
Maybe RB helped BB out or asked him some questions. Even invited him to grab a bite???
And even if RB wasn’t a customer, he still could’ve bumped into BB, considering BB says he walked to make deliveries and didn’t have a vehicle at the time.
They bond and sht, and that’s how BB gets to know RB and gets into motorcycles?
Also BB picked 27 to be his lucky number. Who else has that?

Knowing BB and his stone-ground personality, I believe he probably wanted it himself. But RB might’ve encouraged him a little.
Why is RB’s helmet so fcked up?
MC describes the helmet as looking like it’s been thrown several times. So either RB went insane and smashed his own gear, or he used that helmet to smash something or someone and it ended up looking like that.
Could it be that BB used it to rearrange RB’s face? Idk
The neighbour seems like a caring person who looks out for MC. He says he met RB in the hallway and got death-stared by the guy and stuff. So it’s likely that the man saw RB really up close even with helmet on. There’s no way he can’t tell BB and RB apart, or at least not recognise one of them, right?
The day MC and RB met was the date on the receipt in BB’s wallet.
Also, I want to point out that MC seems to have had memory problems way before she started working at Mad Dog. Consider the note Amy gave her. MC marked it in red with “DON’T FORGET!!!” underlined.
So if that’s the case, it’s easy to understand why she doesn’t remember BB and RB very well, whether it’s because of whatever happened that led to her fear of blood.
Back to the first time she met RB. Why do I say RB?
Because RB appears at the end and tells MC to scan those salty peanuts, and there are salty peanuts on the receipt.
I like to think RB met MC at the store sometime between 17th October and 22nd October. Why those specific days?
The date on the receipt is faded out, but we can see something that almost looks like a “2.”
Flashback to MC’s first day at work, when she meets Lane. Lane says MC hasn’t gotten her own POS code yet, so she can use his code for now.
We don’t know exactly when MC gets her own code, but I’d say it probably takes at least around a week (one of my shtty old jobs made me wait for like a month damnnn). So 22nd October is still within the same time range where she might not have had her own code yet.
That receipt could’ve been MC scanning RB’s items using Lane’s code.
Also, the price tag she printed for Lane. Lane says it was around MC’s first week working there. So that puts it somewhere between 17th to 24th October, most likely.
“What if it was earlier, like 2nd or 12th October?”
No, it can’t be. 12th October is a Sunday. The store is closed and there’s no shift. You can check the calendar RJ hung in the stockroom.
2nd October is too early for MC to even be working there, so that doesn’t make sense either...
So MC and RB likely knew each other from around 17th or 22nd October until the Halloween party on 31st October.
Now, we can’t confirm whether something really happened that night, but Lane vaguely says it’s possible. So let’s assume something did happen on 31st October.
There was a Halloween party at the old warehouse down by the docks. The dress code was red jackets or zombie costumes. Customers were packed into the store. Maybe MC met RB again when he went to the store.
I’d say 2 weeks isn’t enough for MC to know RB that well, but maybe they talked in a subtle way, like BB and MC do now. They likely knew one or two things about each other.
My thought is this.
What if RB let BB wear his suit that day, and MC thought BB was RB?
Maybe RB dragged BB to that party. There was a dress code theme, right? 🤔 So maybe he put BB in one of his red suits and gear (Which explained the devil face on the helmet, it was original a Halloween theme outfit???)
That could explain why there’s a devil pattern on the helmet. It might’ve been part of a Halloween-themed outfit. But when they swung by the store, maybe MC mistook BB for RB.
As for whether BB knew MC, I think he did. Maybe RB talked about her all the time to BB, and BB got curious, stalked her a little, and kind of understood why RB liked her too.
What happened after that? We don’t know.
Tbh I also think BB could’ve just gone in a zombie costume. I don’t know exactly what happened to his scar, but if he didn’t have the tattoo back then, he could’ve been a zombie just by taking off his helmet.
People would’ve been like “Oooooohhhhh dude! Sick costume!”
BUT BUT BUT, I STILL HAVE MORE TO SAY.
What if RB knew MC, but BB took on his identity so he could get close to MC? Like, putting on RB’s gear and helmet and visiting the store?

Maybe it’s because of their identity game, prank or bet involving MC.

It confuses him and makes everything complicated. That’s why he can’t pinpoint his jealousy yet, even though he gets jealous so quickly when MC talks to Serkan or anyone and makes it obvious.
He isn’t jealous of RB because maybe the RB MC liked was actually him, while the person she’s scared of is the real RB.
When MC asks BB if she can touch his wallet, he says she can’t exactly take on his identity.

Also, do y’all know Fay from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and Ciel from Black Butler?
They took on the identities of people they cared about after those people died. It was their way of grieving and fulfilling what that person never got to fulfil.
So maybe if RB really liked MC, and BB did too, BB wants RB to be accepted by MC in some way. Just minus whatever tf they did before and however badly they messed things up for her.
That’s why BB kept the red helmet and let MC wear it the first time he offered her a ride. Then the next day, he got rid of it and said it had fulfilled its purpose.
What was the red helmet’s purpose? Whatever RB wanted might’ve been its purpose.
RB wanted to take MC on a ride!!!!
And that could’ve been BB’s way of helping RB fulfil one last wish, because he still had some sense of respect for the dude..... Maybe....
Also, if the helmet broke because RB crashed his motorcycle, that could explain why BB says he borrowed it and that it fulfilled its purpose.
If RB is alive, the helmet protected its owner. That’s it.

What if RB was a bad influence on BB? Or maybe he just sped up the process of BB getting off the leash?
Like, BB spent years suppressing himself, trying to stay controlled and disciplined. Then suddenly, he meets someone wild like RB, someone who encourages everything he does.

1st: Lane’s parents
I don’t know exactly what their relationship or dynamic was like, but I’d say they loved each other. Lane’s mom seemed very excited to have him. Two months before his birth, she took a photo with Amy and wrote “Two months until we meet you.” His father was probably the one who took the photo.
2nd: Lane and his dad
I’d say they were very close, considering the photo with the childlike handwriting that says “Best Dad Ever” I think it belongs to little Lane.
I talked to one of my friends about it, and she said the photo reminded her a lot of her cousin and uncle. When did Lane’s dad die?
Laly mentioned that he passed away when Lane and Amy were very young, but different cultures define “young” differently. Where I’m from, losing a parent between the ages of 7 and 10 would be considered very young.
However, in the 1995 photo of Lane and Amy, Lane was around 9 to 10 (not his birthday yet). Amy still looks very happy. Lane’s eyes seem a little darker than they do in the photo with his dad, but that could be because of many things.
I don’t think his dad passed away around that time or before it, because Amy looked genuinely happy. A child can try to act mature, but their eyes don’t lie. Amy’s eyes still have that spark MC describes, so I think their dad was probably still alive then. If he’d already died, I don’t think Amy would’ve looked that bright.
There’s also a note on the photo. I don’t know whose handwriting it is, but it isn’t Lane’s or his mom’s. I assume it’s Amy’s because she has a habit of drawing hearts, stars, smiley faces and things like that in her handwriting.
Why does it look so different from her handwriting now?
It could simply be because she was younger. We don’t know.
She wrote about how good it once felt to be ordinary. Maybe she was referring to a time when their dad was still alive, nothing had changed much, and life wasn’t half miserable. It could be nostalgia. Who knows.
So when exactly did the man die?
I honestly have no clue haha fml. But based on Lane’s 1999 note, he seemed to be doing well in English. He got 88% and he was around 14 because the sheet says Grade 9 and 1999. His teacher wrote that he did good work and should keep it up.
There are 2 possible scenarios here.
Scenario 1
His dad died before Lane turned 14, maybe when he was around 12 or 13. That could be why Lane tried to keep his grades up and make his mom happy while still grieving his dad. I’ll explain why I think that when I talk about his mom.
Then, when he was 15 or 16, his mom remarried. That might be what Laly meant when she said his grief was interrupted.
Around the time he was 16, he had a girlfriend who ended up breaking his heart. Their photo says it was taken in summer 2001, so they probably dated for a while before she ghosted him and they broke up.
Amy then bought Lane a ticket to a Slipknot concert and wrote “Smile Lane” on the back.
Lane said his ex left him when he thought things had finally gotten better. Maybe he meant that he thought he’d started recovering from his dad’s death. Then his mom announced she’d remarried, so it became one painful event after another. Amy probably bought the ticket to cheer him up.
Scenario 2
His dad died when Lane was 14, right when he entered high school. That could’ve shocked him badly and explained the blank period in 2000, when he was 15. Maybe he was grieving, so we don’t get much information about that year of his life.
His grades might’ve dropped because he was tired of everything and started becoming more reckless. Then, when he was 16, his mom remarried another man, which added even more to his wounds. After that, he met his ex-girlfriend.
Lane also mentioned a teacher who was always kind to him even when he failed her class. She seemed to teach geography and encouraged him even when he got a terrible score (21%)
Lane and his keepsake
Lane has a necklace in his bathroom with the initials CF on it. I think CF could stand for his dad’s name because Lane’s middle name starts with C. MC says his middle name seems to have been rubbed off on his driver’s license.
Could Lane have rubbed his dad’s name off because it reminded him too much of him? Maybe it made him feel worse, especially if he thought “Damn. Dad must be disappointed in me.”
Let’s call his dad Connor for now. I know it’s a stereotypical name, but it fits the blank and it’s just a nickname I came up with.
I think the necklace belonged to his dad because Lane wore it on 1st Jan 2004, which was New Year’s Day. He’d only gotten his license on 17th Dec 2003. He was speeding, drinking and smoking when he got pulled over.
When the officer offered to call his guardian because he was underage (drinking), Lane got angry and nearly punched him. He ended up getting arrested.
Could that have been around the time his dad died (1st Jan I mean)? Maybe that’s why he went out smoking and drinking alone while wearing his dad’s necklace. Who knows.
I like imagining Mr. Connor as a typical officer dad. Someone who believes strongly in justice, has a rough side and comes across as intimidating (even when he is good-looking) at first because he’s serious. But underneath that, he’s the most caring person ever.
A classic family man. A suburban dad. The dad-next-door type. You know what I mean.
Third: Lane and his mom
It’s easier for me to imagine Lane’s mom because she reminds me a little of my own mom but not exactly. I’ll explain.
Lane mentioned that she always thinks she’s the victim. She cries in the kitchen or gets upset when her kids don’t say they love her back or hug her.
Could she be narcissistic? Maybe.
Lane also said he’d gotten worse beatings from women when he told MC about a customer punching him at his old job. I don’t know if he was joking, but if he wasn’t, maybe his mom hit him too. (Lowk if I were a boy, my mama might’ve beaten me too)
I can imagine Lane’s mom being like some women I’ve met in real life. During the 1990s and early 2000s, she might’ve been under a lot of pressure after losing the man in the house and having to raise 2 children alone while they were still young.
Maybe she developed a toxic love-hate relationship with them. Emotional abuse, manipulation, guilt-tripping, all of that.
She could say the most hurtful things to her kids one moment, then cry and apologise the next. If that happened constantly, every day, it would affect Lane badly.
That could also explain why his grades dropped. He might’ve just gotten fed up with everything happening at home.
Laly also said that Lane looking like his dad is important. I can imagine Lane’s mom expecting him to “man up” and become the man of the house, even though he was still a child. That kind of expectation comes from toxic masculinity and the stereotypes people might’ve had about Mr. Connor’s job.
Maybe she compared Lane to his dad too. Like A LOT.
That would make things even worse because every time she looked at Lane, she might’ve seen an uncanny version of her dead husband. That could’ve hurt her even more.
His mom might’ve remarried quickly because she needed financial support, not necessarily because she was in love. Lane might not have been able to handle how fast she seemed to move on.
There’s also the disciplinary action form dated 18 March 2002. Two guardians signed it, and one signature has “father” written beside it. Lane would’ve been 17 (16 on paper bc not his birthday yet) then and probably completely done with everything.
That means his mom had to remarry before he turned 17 (base on year not his birthday). So her remarrying when he was 15 or 16 would make sense if his dad died when Lane was around 12 to 14
Lane said that after the suspension, his mom kicked him out for a week and he stayed at Ludwig’s house. He also said he never graduated.
So yeah, you can finish the puzzle from there.
Lane also said something about Amy leaving him behind in some way. I assume she graduated and moved away from town, while Lane stayed behind to deal with whatever was happening with their mom.
4th: Lane and his stepdad
I don’t know much about the guy, but I’d say he probably wasn’t very active as a father figure.
There could be many reasons for that. Maybe he saw that Lane still hadn’t moved on from his dad and didn’t want to seem like he was trying to replace him. Or maybe he didn’t marry Lane’s mom for love.
Maybe his mindset was “They aren’t my kids. I’ll provide financial support but I’m not raising them.”
That could be why Lane and his stepdad didn’t have the best relationship.
Lane did say the guy did what a typical dad would do, but maybe it was very subtle. Maybe he didn’t want to deal with drama or emotional messiness, so he stayed distant even when he knew Lane wasn’t okay.
That could be why Lane kept the same cold dull relationship with him.
5th: Easter eggs in Lane’s apartment
First Easter egg: Amy’s eyeshadow palette
Amy’s eyeshadow palette has these words written on it:
“My Heart Is In Pain But I’m Smiling For You.”
If you click on the “Pain” palette, the shadow gets scraped away and reveals red underneath.
Those are lyrics from Stereo Love by Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina, released in 2009.
It could represent both Lane and Amy. Lane said he still hadn’t moved on, while everyone around him acted like everything was fine. Maybe for a long time, he had to pretend he was fine too, until he couldn’t anymore.
Laly also mentioned that he hates family gatherings. Based on his mom’s Christmas card from last year, he didn’t go home then either.
Second Easter egg: The COD receipt

1- Who has been the hardest to write so far?
BB is probably the hardest overall bc his entire character basically depends on subtext. so i have to rely on trust for him. i have to trust the players to let them connect the dots themselves instead of spelling things out.
thankfully, his coworkers in the garage are here to help me do that, because whats more interesting than learning about someone through people who already knew him before you did? (unless)😼💕
Lane also depends on subtext, but hes easier to write. hes just annoying because he acts emotionally detached while being probably the MOST emotionally reactive character in the game.
the hardest part with him is making him feel like a REAL 2009 guy without making him unbearable to players.
because realistically, a guy like Lane in 2009 would say dumb/offensive things CONSTANTLY. especially with his whole performative masculinity thing.
but if i push too far, players will stop seeing the "guy" underneath it. and if i soften him too much he stops feeling authentic and would start being the "boring love interest."
2- Is Lane a bit of a yandere ?
i would never call Lane a yandere but he definitely has possessive tendencies sometimes! tho they come more from insecurity than obsession, his fear of not being "good enough."
so when he said that it was more in a "please choose me" way. xD
Lots of people think BB and Red are the same person, but I don't. And here's why:
1. Scarlette.
- BB has a photo of Scarlette with her original color in his locker. The handwriting on the photo doesn't look like BB's, and there's also a year written in the back - 2004.
- BB stated he went to army in 2003 and returned 4 years later. He also said he started riding after he started working in the garage, and he didn't have a bike when he was working at Paw Pizza.
Summary: The pic was taken by Scarlette's previous owner, who then gave it to BB. The previous owner was most likely Red Biker. Why? The red helmet.
2. The red helmet.
- The mysterious red helmet belonged to someone else.
MC: I rarely see helmets with devil faces on them.
BB: Maybe... The man who wore this thought he was a devil. Or wanted everyone else to think he was.

MC: Then is the previous owner fine?

- I don't think BB was wearing it himself because he says in other dialogue that red seems unnecessarily visible for him. He probably just kept it as a memorable thing. Like a piece of someone who was important to him.
3. Red color.
- BB doesn't like to draw attention to himself, he doesn't like when people look at him too much.
MC: I would've bet money you weren't the type of guy who likes drawing attention to himself.
BB: Then you would have made a lot of money. I prefer complete anonymity.

- When BB and MC were talking about his phonecase, he said the person who gave it to him thought he lacked color. Concidering this, I think he was always wearing black/something neutral, so full red motorcycle gear sounds like something completely opposite to him. Besides, he also said in one of the dialogues that the gear takes too much time to put on, and he doesn't wear it for this reason.
MC: Pretty sure this doesn't even belong to you.
BB: It doesn't. Someone gave it to me.
BB: They told me I lacked color.
4. The second photo in the locker.
- On the second photo in BB's locker, someone else is standing with their back to the camera. Even though just a little piece of them was shown, we can see letters TI on their back.
Now take a look at Red's gear. Do you see something familiar?
DUCATI. Fits the letters on the photo.
- Why are this person's clothes not painted red on the photo, though the sharpie writing does? Because it would draw the player's attention, and it would basically confirm Red being not the same person as BB right away. There wouldn't be any intrigue anymore.
5. Mad Dog receipt in BB's wallet.
- The receipt dated October 2009, i.e. a month before the events of the game. When MC decided to give BB her number in shift 2, a message thread that also dated one month ago was in his phone. Laly wouldn't put such detail in the game if it didn't have a meaning behind it. This message thread could've been with Red.
- Lane was the cashier. Now remember his line, "Too many bikers these days." He probably meant BB and Red showing up at Mad Dog. Why didn't he recognize BB after that, then? BB probably was wearing the other helmet - his helmet on the photo in the locker is different, and he gives MC a matte black helmet before driving her to work in shift 3. So that means he has at least 2 of them: his present one and the one from the photo.
- Salted peanuts were in the receipt. At the end of shift 3, Red asked MC to scan a pack of salted peanuts that were no longer in stock, as she thought. Overall, the snacks listed in the receipt were salty, while BB has a sweet tooth, so it probably wasn't him buying all that stuff. Why did he keep the receipt, though? Honestly, I have no idea yet. Maybe something meaningful happened that day, and he decided to keep it as a reminder.
6. The scene at the end of shift 3.
- Red says to MC something like, "You won't do that for him? For me?". And I think by "he" Red meant BB, no matter whose route you chose. There are a lot of hints in the game that MC knew BB before, and I can't say the same about Lane. When MC went to Lane's for the key, she had a flashback, and Lane there was acting like he met her just a couple of days ago. Also, I doubt Amelia would've introduced MC to her brother due to their dynamic, so that means MC hadn't met Lane before she started working at Mad Dog.
- Red said he would drag MC back if she doesn't go back herself. She said she'll never do that, so something definitely happened in the past between her, BB, and Red. They were probably friends until the incident.
I know there are probably some things that might sound out of nowhere to someone, or something like, "I think so just because I feel so," but that's just my theory. And theories are supposed to show someone's perception and interpretation of the details and given information. So I just stated here what seemed logical to me, although it might still sound not as logical and neat as it is in my head, because I'm bad and converting my thoughts into proper sentences. Anyway, I did my best to make things look organized and meaningful.
