Villains being villains is the reason why we love them. Hades, Yzma, Jafar, Ratigan... They love being a villain, and they're very good at that, and we love them for it!

Your villain can also have layers! King Candy and Frollo are pretty well structured, but nothing about them is sympathetic. And you know what? Good for them! More reason to love them for how deep their wickedness can go!

Just a PSA to say: villains are villains for a good reason, and them not being sympathetic is not a bad thing at all: it's their role as villains, as their presence in the story implies. Cruella wants to kill dogs: no matter how you spin it, this monster of a woman cannot be considered sympathetic unless you strip her of one of the main characteristics that make her, well, Cruella. It just can't work.

No offense on Emma Stone, she's definitely talented, but this...

...just isn't this.

Also, on a side note: please don't use the movie as an excuse to hate on dalmatians, or dogs in general. Or else I'll come and kick your sheen. I mean it. è_é
