I'm happy to see Rivals give Emma Frost and Jubilee interactions.
I can only seem to find them with Emma in her summer skin.
I don't really like bashing fanships all that much because it makes me feel like a schmuck who tells people what they can't do.
But today, on Twitter (I don't know why I still use that app), I saw someone who ships Spider-Man with Jubilee react to a clip from the Spider-Man: TAS crossover with X-Men, when the team was telling Spidey he did a great job, as if it was prophetic of their ship.
Okay, 1. That's a stretch that would put Reed Richards to shame. Even if it was just meant as a joke. 2. Even if I don't like it, I can almost get making it a thing in their AU, as it's their own noncanon material. But that's literally a scene where she's a teenage girl, and he's a full-grown man. Isn't it kinda weird to see that and then connect it to shipping them? Like, it's not shipping them with her being underage, but it's seeing them interact while she's underage and then referencing shipping them. Am I the only one weirded out by that? I just wanted to vent about it.
My hate hasn't gone away
Also, good job ignoring everything that happened with Emma Frost over the years! Just keep her with her initial characterization from her Hellfire Club days, even when adapting the stuff that came later (please, may the latter half of the season fix that).
Sometimes I look at modern talk about comic adaptations, and I feel like if X-Men Origins: Wolverine came out now, there would be at least some people who would defend Barakapool as a totally legitimate adaptation of Deadpool, saying people who don't like it just hate change.
This isn't just a comic adaptation thing, though. I just feel this happens with them the most
I didn't realize that today is Peter and MJ's anniversary!
Here's their wedding, as retold in Parallel Lives, offering insight into their thoughts.
This still happened. No time traveling demons got in the way of this.
I love this guy
Normally, Carnage with white teeth doesn't work, but I think Tokon actually kind of pulls it off
I know it's already the second, but I'd still like to wish everyone in the lgbtq+ community a Happy Pride month. I hope everyone lives a long and happy life, openly being who you are.
Again, for a kids line, Mattel's DC Core line doesn't look too shabby
Though that's like six Batmen: the wave one release, one in each multi-pack, and one packed with the Batmobile. Two Robin's: for wave one, and one with a motorcycle... plus Nightwing, which makes it arguably three if you want to count him... and for villains, they made Joker, Croc, Clayface, and now Bane and Freeze (Also Deathstroke is in wave one, but I don't count him all a Batman villain)
It's more than a little too Batman focused, and it'd be nice to get at least one female character (still no Wonder Woman), but they look pretty solid, and it inspires confidence in the collector line. Again, it looks like something kids (or other people, I'm not judging, these look fun) will have plenty of fun with these, and they'll be nice placeholders in a collection until Mattel puts out something for collectors.
Spoiler for X-Men '97 Season 2, from a leaked trailer
So I complained before about Jubes being in her Gen X outfit, despite Gen X not being there... turns out, we'll actually see some of them. Apparently, here's Monet!
That's... yeah, that’s uh... No, just no.
Why is this such an issue for her and Beto?
I feel like plenty of people know that Uncle Ben saying, "With great power, comes great responsibility," wasn't originally the case in the comics, as it was just the narrator saying it... But they don't seem to know that it being Ben who said it still comes from the comics, and no, I don't mean the Ultimate Universe.
In "Spider-Man Versus Wolverine," released in 1987, Peter directly attributes the quote as Uncle Ben's words. Yes, it's a light retcon, but it still means that Ben saying it comes from 616 canon and not an adaptation or alternate universe. I also saw some people say there may be earlier instances, but I'm not sure what they could be.
I really like seeing Spidey and Logan together and enjoy them as surprisingly good friends. They play off each other well, have great banter, and it's just a whole lot of fun.
I just realized... Jubes is in the first version of the Generation X uniform. Despite Gen X not being in the show, and they got the color wrong...
I fucking hate it here...
The show continues to piss me off...
Like, you don't have to be 100% accurate to the comics, but come on, you didn't even try!
You've got only two of the actual original X-Force members (comic Cable, not pictured) and put Jubilee on the wrong team!
So I just remembered the Lego CMF Huntress minifigure. Interesting that it's based on Helena Wayne.
I love Venom. I don't talk about Venom enough.
