Current WIP - Essence
This is my current writing project and the one I will continue work on during this year's NaNoWriMo.
Essence takes place in a mediavel fantasy world, were monsters roam the lands. Every wound one of these beasts inflict, lets them absorb the life force, the Essence, of their victim and grow stronger.
Opposing them are adventurers, free and independent warriors, who have forged emblems from the monster's remains to claim their ability as their own. They face these monsters in battle grow stronger by slaying them. Many among the adventurers have become heroes.
Iry is a farmgirl from a remote farm village travelling to a distant city to make her dream of fame come true and search for her teacher, who has vanished without a trace. It's only after she has claimed an emblem of her own that she learns, that the emblem's ability isn't only limited to monsters, but also allows to absorb the Essence of other adventurers.
Currently the story is in it's third iteration, because of my bad habit of throwing stuff into the trash and starting over. But I still really like the concept (maybe a little too much), so I want this to go somewhere.
During NaNoWriMo I'll probably post some blurbs of my writing that I feel are worth sharing. I'm not sure I'll post entire chapters, because I'm already a few chapters in and they would be somewhat taken out of context. I'm thinking about posting them elsewhere, but they'd need some editing first (because some stuff within the story has changed and want to fix them first).
