These entire outfits please! Featuring Katarina Johnson-Thompson in the Nike Free 3.0 Flyknit, Nike Free TR 5 Flyknit and Nike Free Viritous.
I am so exited for these Nike Flyknit Lunar 3's to drop next month in Australia, how amazing do they look? I bet they're comfy too..Â
Adelaide-born James Duigan is the celebrity trainer and health expert who’s sculpted the bodies of supermodels such as Elle Macpherson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Lara Stone. He’s also the author of the best-selling Clean & Lean books and the creator of the Bodyism gyms and range of superfood powders and active wear. So to say he’s a busy man would be something of an understatement! However, for James spending time with his family and looking after his fitness and wellness remain his top priorities. Sporteluxe caught up with James at his Bondi home (the family splits their time between Sydney, London and LA) to take a peek into his healthy world.
In a nutshell can you explain your health and fitness approach? What is the clean and lean philosophy all about?
Any transformation that happens in your body, happens in your mind first. Beautiful is how you feel and happiness is not a body fat percentage. It’s a state of mind. Bodyism and Clean and Lean is about being kind to yourself and creating powerful and permanent change through intelligent movement and mindful eating.
What’s coming up next for the Bodyism brand?
I don’t know where to start! We just launched cleanandlean.com in December. It’s the blueprint of what we do with supermodels and super mums everyday here at Bodyism. We’re also expanding the clothing to include a men’s range and there will be a new cookbook out next year. It’s been an incredible last two years and it looks like its going to be an even crazier next two years!
How do you start your day?
At 6.45am I have two large glasses of water with a squeeze of lemon. Then at 7am I have breakfast. I love a scoop of our Body Brilliance powder with some natural yoghurt and a handful of nuts and blueberries. Super easy for my wife Chrissy to make in the morning too if she’s busy with our children, Charlotte and Leo! If we are in Sydney, I love to go to Trio at Bondi beach for the Boss Eggs with feta cheese and truffle oil. We love eating together as a family and try to have as many meals together as we can.
If we peeked inside your to fridge what would we find?
Hummus, almond milk and fresh and clean produce.
Can you talk us through your usual training routine? What do you do on a daily basis?
I always incorporate one hour of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. If I’m in Sydney, I’ll try and surf and if I’m in London I’ll lift weights at Bodyism. I always play with the children and yoga and meditation are also very important.
What’s the biggest mistake most men make when it comes to their health and fitness?
Thinking harder and heavier is better. It’s not. You should always look to achieve balance in everything you do which includes making sure you do yoga at least once a week.
Any tips for bringing more balance into your life?
Understand that life is long, so don’t use your body in a way you will regret. Try to take five deep breaths and do a gratitude check list. It’s a good way to get your energy in line with the universe.
Can you share your best ever health secret?
Sleep is the foundation for a healthy and happy life. Sometimes a sleep in is better for you than a workout!
When do you feel happiest?
When I’m with my wife and children.
Do you have a life motto or favourite inspirational saying?
Never give up.
Name three things you can’t live without.
My family, the ocean and good food! Interview via Sporteluxe
We are going to experience pain in our life it is inevitable, but you can choose to not suffer. The choice is always yours!
Can I just say that these Nike Air Zoom Structure 18's are the most comfortable shoes ever, my shinsplints have disappeared. Thanks Nike! ^^ Image via Sporteluxe
Workout song of the day: Latch (feat. Sam Smith) by Disclosure
"I believe we are all one, the same, equal. I don't believe some are more special than others. We are all perfect, unique, whole beings. The issue is do you believe you are worthy of the absolute best life you desire? If not that is what we need to address. Go there first ;)"
BEAUTY FOOD One of my ultimate favourite supplements! "This combo of super greens and marine collagen peptides, created by celeb trainer James Duigan, is apparently one of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s secret beauty weapons. And while it won’t transform you into a Rosie lookalike (we wish!) it might just help you get skin as glowy. Featuring a long list of superfoods and alkalising ingredients, it’s said to help repair damaged skin, hair and nails, boost your immune system and detoxify your system. The powder can easily be mixed with water or your fave smoothie or cold-pressed juice – we like the fact that it’s not overly sweet." via Sporteluxe

It’s easy to forget to stretch. It’s often overlooked because the results are not as visible as lifting weights and squatting—or so you thought. Stretching can lead to better posture, fewer aches and pains, greater confidence, and a cheerier outlook on life.
