This is both extremely dramatic and also not canon-esque at all, like i dont see anything remotely like this happening, but it was fun. I do want to see them argue. Not only fight knives-and-guns-blazing, but like an ideological crossroads. In this case: their approaches to their life views. Aside from the obvious ideologies they've adopted from garden and wise, Twilight is very self-sacrificial, seeming not to care about the impact his death would have on those depending on him, putting everything in for the mission. On the other hand, Yor knows the importance of life, she had to live in order for her brother to live, she takes lives up-close so she knows their weight and how easily they can be snuffed out. Therefore, she's more careful about being able to make it home so that she can be there for her family.

with this most recent arc, even though she isn't getting a full view of how much harm he puts himself in, that last panel in the last chapter of him dragging himself in the hospital (although it was funny) kinda got me thinking. What if yor got an inkling of how little he cared for himself? and what if, when confronted about it, he refused to stand down?

Does Yuri also think that Yor was a sex worker?

Everyone else in Yor's life seems to believe she was. I'm sure Yuri would have taken any lie Yor told him about her work at face value, especially when he was a child who wouldn't understand. But he isn't stupid. And unlike with his suspicious about Yor's marriage, everyone else in his life also believes this. Yuri probably put the pieces together when he got older which only made him more overprotective.

This would recontextualize a lot of Yuri's actions. From his perspective, his sister was a victim of repeated child exploitation from unknown men. She purposefully didn't tell him and Yuri wasn't able to do anything. Now a strange unknown man has apparently been married to his sister and she didn't tell him? It probably felt like the same thing was happening all over again. But this time he could do something about it.

That's why he did a complete 180 from trying to find Yor a boyfriend to trying to have Loid executed. Why any suggestion of them being intimate sets him off more than anything else. And why he is so focused on eliminating scumbags from their country.

I think this was hinted at in Yuri's very first appearance. We have never seen him behave as violently as he did in his introduction scene. Yuri started off his interrogation with Mr. Hayward pretty calm and jovial. But when Mr. Hayward says that he was "spending money on ladies" and claiming that Yuri should know what that's like as a man, Yuri explodes. He starts sadistically torturing Hayward while screaming about protecting his family. To him, this man was as bad as the people who took advantage of his sister.

And it can't even be argued that it was the treason that set him off. He did not have the same reaction to the photographer, and Yuri even tried negotiating a quiet surrender with Twilight. He wasn't delighted to hurt Twilight or put the photographer in prison like with Hayward. Nor did he mention protecting his family. These guys were doing much more treason yet they didn't elicit the same personal response and sadistic rage.

Reading: A hundred ways to kill a heartthrob. Imma be honest, I'm just reading it out of boredom. I can't click with the characters but I'm also too curious about the ending to drop it out now.

Last Series: Evil. Actually an amazing serie!! Pretty heavy on the religion but there's a piece of cake for evrybody. Religious or not. Definitely check it out!!

Last Movie: Ultraman(the last Netflix version). I'm pretty late on the hype but I liked it. It was a cute movie.

Last Song: Eve by ado. Low-key obsessed nowadays with this. I recommend the clip video. The visuals are a must.

Reading: Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop. I've already read this but I wanted to reread it because it's officially one of my comfort books. And also, many, many fanfictions, ahem.

Last Series: Gachiakuta. Haven't finished watching it yet, but it has a unique plot with loveable characters and the lore is quite intriguing as well. The artstyle is also just ugh, AMAZING! The music is catchy too~

Last Movie: Dead Poets Society. It's a good movie which teaches you valuable life lessons and the characters are people the audience can relate to greatly, especially the protagonist. Beware of the ending, though.

Last Song: Rendezvous by AHOF. I've never been a K-pop fan or stan before, but that was before I discovered AHOF. All of their songs are great and I've been listening to them nonstop every single day.

Coffee or Tea: I can't drink coffee because it gives me heart palpitations and is overall bad for my health. So tea it is, specifically honey lemon tea. Yum.

Working on: Another TCF Modern Au fanfic with Cale and KRS as its protagonists as per usual. Will try to experiment a different writing style and whatnot. And I should probably work on my WIPs...

Reading: currently on non-holiday-reading-jail (i historically have a Problem with failing to stop reading through the night and having to call out sick the next day so i try to avoid reading Actual Books while not on break), but last I read was Trash of the Count’s Family Part 1, and I’ve been voraciously consuming fic of it in the meantime (the trick is that most fic aren’t 100k+ so I can binge them without locking myself into crippling sleep deprivation)

OH AND I NEARLY FORGOT need to catch up with S Classes That I Raised and actually find a place to read the ORV side stories

Last series: TV series, I’m assuming? In which case uhhhhh Link Click? It’s been a hot minute. Need to get back to it…still on the The Gang Goes to England arc. The last one I remember that I both finished season 1 and really really enjoyed was S1 of Wind Breaker and S1 of DanDaDan, but now they have S2s and I need to catch upppppp—oh! And Battlebots! Gotta catch up on the last two seasons. Missed the tournament last year

Last film: uhhhhhhh oh! Everything Everywhere All At Once! Watched it on the plane last flight :) really good!!! Of course I vibe with absurdism in general, but the execution and unflinching ridiculousness of it all was 11/10. You’ve GOTTA play a story like this straight and sincere and by god they DID it

Last song: Tsuki wo Miteita by Kenshi Yonezu just finished playing in the car. Next in the queue is Taikutsuwo Saienshinaide by EVE. This isn’t me being deliberately obtuse or pedantic btw this is just how these two songs’ names are listed on English language iTunes. They don’t even treat the を particle the same. In Yonezu’s the wo is separated by a space and in EVE’s it’s not. Romaji!

Reading: Ghost Story Gotta Work (webnovel). Other than that I'm also reading The Problematic Child of the Magic Tower, Is It Bad if the Main Character is a Cosplayer and also a very slow progress of reading Lord of the Mysteries. Considering how the year had me in chokehold (literally) so far I'd say it's pretty rewarding to read .... Might need to spare some brain space for The Hunter Gotta Lay Low and ORV side stories too.

Last Series: The Yuzuki Family's Four Sons. I'd also recommend Kotaro Lives Alone, and Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. The three of them heavy on angst and feel and kinda bittersweet but also hopeful? Kotaro Lives Alone is especially special to me, rewired my brain just like ORV's ending.

Last Movie: I'm not really into movie usually, but I remember having watched one recently with my mother before. It's Suzume no Tojimari. I think I'm at the point where I'd guess Suzume and it would be her choice 8 out of 10 times. Though I'd say I love Flow in a very precious little space my heart had it saved, I rewatched it over and over while my cat glared at me for being fixated on another cat.

Last Song: Tough ... I'm rarely listening to music/songs anymore, little overstimulated brain said nope. But if a recommendation counts, I'd say Escape by Megan Nicole and Every Mile Mattered by Nichole Noderman.

Coffee or Tea: Tea. No coffee no carbonate drinks unless you want me to choke.

Working On: Uhm, too many wips no time. Honestly not in a very best shape at the moment so I've left my wips in the basement for a while. On serious note I'm currently working on my eating habit, now I can say three meals a day is doable! Whether it's in 'appropriate' time is a matter for another day.
