He huffs a laugh, though his smile is as bright and knowing as anything at all – and even if he feels stupid for the way his mouth twists into a smile like it is now, he knows it’s not something he can easily hide. Though he’s surprised to see her, he can’t really say he’s entirely surprised to see she hasn’t kicked the bucket just yet.

“I thought you were supposed to be dead. Pancake at the bottom of a cliff and all.” He can see she’s lost an eye – he doesn’t really wanna know how that one happened.
