Scottie had arrived home and almost immediately Carmelita was questioning him about tutoring their son. With a soft hum as he was listening, his head dipped down and he smiled slightly. If he was to be honest, he was thrilled to death that Alexander was taking after him. But, he also had learned everything he knew from experience, rather than being taught. He also knew the amount of times he’d gotten hurt from it, though.
“If you want me to tutor him, I would have no problem with that. The boy needs a magical pet too though, not just his lop. He needs a pet that can warn him when something is off.”
“Is there a special shop for them?” She asked relieved he was agreeing with her. “Or does he have to find one on his own?” Her tone was hushed so Alexander wouldn’t hear, she wanted his new pet to be a surprise. It was like a burden off her shoulders to have this relief, she knew how dangerous it could be but if someone she trusted was around Alex then it couldn’t be so bad.
His eyes sparkled in amusement, and Scottie ran a hand through his hair. “We’re not in that silly book series my brother loves, dear wife of mine. The boy needs to find his pet. How about a trip to his native land, Norway? We can’t expect the little thing to get something that doesn't suit him, after all.” Scottie’s tone was quiet, but there was an edge to his voice that suggested if they were going to be doing this, they were going to be doing it his way. Scottie was not a traditional masculine man where he felt the need to be in charge, not in the slightest. No, he was rather submissive a lot of the time. But he knew magic better than any other living being. No one would change his mind on this.
