Heya, I'm Icaru (they/them). I'm a traditional and digital artist, as well as (very rarely) a writer. I currently draw a lot of Legend of Zelda and Linked Universe art, though I sometimes sprinkle in art for other games, manga, and my own OCs. Just realized I never shared the irl versions of each of Twi's cats so here you go:

This one is Pumpkin, my dearest little boy whom I grew up with. He sadly passed a few years before I drew this piece, but I'm glad I got to immortalize him here <3

This is Mr Bean, who was still a kitten when I drew this. Don't let his big eyes fool you, he has not grown out of the biting.

I didn't have a third cat when I drew this, but a few months later this extremely similar little lady just showed up in our driveway and we decided to keep her! I'm still kinda shocked by the coincidence lol, I just added this kitty to the art on a whim and somehow ended up willing her into existence. Her name is Miss May. Mr Bean loves her. She tolerates him.

Hey Icaru! :D Ask game questions for you. Could I ask 7, 8, 12, 15, 20, and 24? (and as a bonus question: What's your favorite piece of LU fanwork that you've created?)

(I'd also like to take the opportunity to say I've read Needle and Thread and it's so good!!! I need to give it a reread tbh. But, what do you mean you're an amazing artist AND an amazing writer??!!!! That's so cool!)

Hi Ray!!! Man you've given me a lot to answer lol, let's get started!

Question 7 is "do you have a favorite headcanon or trope that you've picked up from the fandom?"

This one doesn't originate from the LU fandom itself, but I've seen it tackled by LU fans a few times. I really like Wolfie reveals that involve residents of Ordon, especially Twilight's adoptive family of Rusl, Uli, Colin, and their unnamed baby girl. The concept of working up the courage to stop hiding parts of yourself from your family hits really close to home for me as a nonbinary person in a rather conservative environment, and I love seeing it explored in the context of my all time favorite video game. <3

Question 8 is "which LU fandom event, trend, or running joke has been your favorite?"

Twiddies. No question. All hail the glorious rancher who breastily boobed his way from the brink of death.

Look at my adorable boy. Look at his mischievous lil grin. Look at him claiming that his magic bluetooth stick isn't magic. I adore him. Also Divine Dark Reflections is my favorite arc in general cause it gave us bunny Legend, terrible liar Four, and pyromaniac Hyrule. Top tier arc all around.

Question 15 is "how many chuchus could you take in a fight?"

As many as I need to to get my hands on cut content ;)

Question 20 is "is there an ability/secret/item reveal you really want to see in the comic?"

I need Four to let someone use the Gnat Hat so bad, you have no idea. Let the whole Chain be small!

Question 24 is "which game gimmick has been your favorite?"

Probably Ravio's Bracelet from A Link Between Worlds! I love items that facilitate creative puzzles and items that make world exploration fun, and this item does both at once in a way that feels natural and seamless. It's just a joy to play with! <3

Bonus question: "what is my favorite LU fanwork that I've created?"

This is such a hard question so I'm gonna cheat and choose one artwork and one fanfic lol

My favorite LU artwork of mine is probably my long haired Links piece! I just love making these boys even prettier hehe <3

(Though, if we expand the pool to include my general Zelda art as well, then my actual favorite is definitely Avenging Your Predecessor)

My favorite LU fic is also my most recent: Folly of Atlas! It's by far my longest fic to date, and it was an absolute joy to write. I love downfall duo, I love character studies on the nature of heroism and selflessness being taken too far, I love obscure Zelda lore and mechanics, and I love Hyrule getting to be an absolute BAMF. If any of that sounds fun to you, then feel free to check it out hehe :D

Number 2 for the LU Ask Game?

Number 2 is "share 5 of your favorite LU fics"!

Oh boy so fair warning, a lot of my favorites get very violent lol. I absolutely recommend reading all of them since they're honestly masterpieces, but it's up to you to decide what you're comfortable with. I'll list them in order from least to most extreme:

Blupee Bait by FlamingIdiot This one is pretty much just pure fluff; just a sweet, short story about Legend getting adopted by blupees. I always go back to this one when I need to unwind after a rough day, it's so comforting and peaceful. It is the only one on this list that won't hurt you :)

Alterity by serbii Ok so I'm kinda cheating by putting so many multi-fic series on this list but each follows a singular narrative so I say it's allowed. This one is packed full of time travel shenanigans, angst, fluff, and topped off with a heaping helping of hilarious heroic chaos.

The Wondrous Sword of Legend by ImperialKatwala and PolynomialPandemic Do you like Downfall Duo? Do you like sword spirit fics? This is the fic for you. You've already read it? Read it again, you know you want to lol

Time's Travels by sky_squido This is where things start getting pretty dark, but that's to be expected with time loop fics. And lemme tell you, this is the king of time loop fics. I haven't felt desperation and hope this intense since my first time watching Sam carry Frodo up Mount Doom. I gasped out loud multiple times reading this. Words do not describe how good this fic is. Go read it.

Ganonrulie by HotCheetoHatred, notfreyja, Nyastri, serbii, and shadows_of_stars This is the series that the warning at the beginning is for lol. It's incredibly good, but there is very intense, graphic torture in it, so tread carefully. If you want Downfall Duo with a metric ton of whump but no permanent major character death, absolutely check this one out. Serbii I am sending you my therapist bill for what Sky refusing to take the Master Sword in Post Mortem did to me.
